Whoopsey - clearly you are not pg yourself then . I knew there were boys on here but clearly didn't twig that you might be one of them!

Congrats on your baby Salamander! Did you have him / her at Colchester? Am having mine there.

Coggeshall - how lovely. I got many pairs of shoes from the lovely shoe shop there!

Know there are a few others from Colchester about - think Crunchie & Dior are local too!

Salamander · 05/09/2006 14:58

It would be nice to have a little 'triangle' community on here.
The shoe shop has closed down unfortunately - but Eeny did frequent it!!

Thanks for the congrats!! We had him in Chelmsford - the little blighter.

Colchester is a good hospital - our friends had their baby there.

MaryP0p1 · 06/09/2006 09:16

I used to live in Maldon, now its Italy though.

podglet · 06/09/2006 11:03

Hi Petrified - good luck for the 25th! I really like Colchester hosp esp the mat wing - they all seem lovely in there.

Hi to MaryPop1 too - nice swap - Maldon for Italy!

Emzickle - are you having your baby @ ipswich or Colchester? is it your first?

Salamander - am bemoaning the loss of the shoe shop as they had some lovely flat shoes which is all I can wear now pg!

Anyone recently given birth in WJC, Braintree?

posyparker · 07/09/2006 13:43

Hi, I am in the magic triangle! We are a few miles north of Braintree. Due on 9 January and booked into WJC. Any others due around then? Am having real problems finding others currently in same boat! No luck with an NCT refresher course in the area either, I was hoping to book onto a course to get to meet other bumps due around the same time as me.

emzickle · 07/09/2006 14:34

yes tis my first, Im plaaning on having the baby at home, but if any thing goes wrong shall be whisked to Ipswich me thinks... I live North of Ipswich though, Diss way...

jessicaandrebeccasmummy · 07/09/2006 14:41

im in colchester!

dior is local too but not about much. met her a few times and is lovely.

i have Jess who is 2.1 and becky is 10 months

with reference to Colchester Hopsital - was ok.... i discharged myself though because i was getting no support and a new mother at the other end of the ward was using the buzzer every 2 mins and driving me insane!

posyparker · 12/09/2006 12:17

bump

podglet · 12/09/2006 14:30

Hi Posy, Am a few weeks before you - due Nov 18th. Is this your first? I don't know anyone in the area due the same time as me but I start my classes on Thursday so hope to meet some there.

eidsvold · 13/09/2006 03:08

Used to live just outside Chelmsford in village called Danbury - dh used to work for Mid Essex Hospital trust adn them moved to Maldon to work.

BUT now we live in sunny Queensland.

posyparker · 14/09/2006 10:01

Hi Podglet, no, it's my third but dd's are 10 and 6 so I am a bit rusty (!) and do not know any mums with tinies or bumps!

Are you doing NCT classes? They are meant to be a really good way of meeting other mums, we only did the NHS classes with dd1, and no-one ever actually spoke to each other. I was hoping to get on an NCT refresher course, but none of the branches close to me are holding these (lack of interest - they need 4 couples, so I am on the waiting list). I was thinking of going along to a bumps and babes meeting but a) I find it really hard walking into somewhere on my own if I don't know anyone there, and b) I am still working full time (although I am now doing 3 days from home which is great!).

Maybe we can get a group of local MN-ers (to be) together?

podglet · 15/09/2006 10:16

Hi Posy,

That sounds like a jolly good idea - I'm certainly up for it!

Not doing the NCT classes but had my first Parentcraft thing last night. There were only 2 other couples there so it was actually really nice and not at all scary and even DP enjoyed it!

Hopefully, this thread will attract more mums (and to be's!) from our area so we can organise meet ups etc?

eenywifemum · 27/09/2006 16:00

Hi all! I am Salamanders wife. We have a 7 week old baby boy. For all of you weeping over the loss of The Glass Slipper shoe shop in Coggeshall - I FEEL YOU! They had all sorts of flat ballet type pumps and I love that style of shoe. We should organise a local meet-up sometime!

eenywifemum · 27/09/2006 16:00

forgot to mention we were planning a waterbirth at WJC but there were many complications and Alex was born 4 weeks early at St. Johns

Salamander · 29/09/2006 09:43

BUMP - are you CBC Triangle MNers still out there?

OP posts:
jessicaandrebeccasmummy · 29/09/2006 09:46

im still here... not sure for how long though! DH is being discharged from the army, so probably only about for another month or so.

jessicaandrebeccasmummy · 29/09/2006 09:47

and to my shame have just noticed this is in ante-natal - sorry guys!!!

although we are considering number 3 - cant do much about it until DH is out of his job and we are settled - again!

Salamander · 29/09/2006 10:12

Don't beat yourself up
this thread hasn't been going that long.

would be nice to organise a mini-meet-up though with a few of us

OP posts:
emzickle · 30/09/2006 19:54

I'm very much up for the meet up - except, not for a few weeks please, I think Im about to pop x
