Im on pins about the phone ringing and Im waiting for a delivery so waiting for the doorbell to go too! Sods law the delivery will turn up when Im doing the school run!

FoodieMum3 · 09/06/2014 14:42

Oh well I think you would definitely have heard by now. So I think you're ok.

If you read down the thread you'll see some of the others were given the results there and then! The wait is awful Sad.

Hello all from Sunny california, people who got the first gtt, how did you get your results, cause I had to ask at a consultant appointment! No one offered the results to me!

Got my next one booked in for when I am back!

FoodieMum3 · 09/06/2014 15:24

Ella on my letter it said that symptoms were weight loss, frequent urination (although we all have that anyway) lethargy and excessive thirst. But my understanding is that it comes as a surprise to most people when they're diagnosed because they didnt have any symptoms.
I sometimes have sugar in my urine at checkups so that's why I am worried.

cookielove enjoy California. I think they only ring you if you've tested positive for GD, otherwise no news is good news.

Oh thanks foodie thats good to know!

ella the flight was good, i was worried about travel sickness as I usually take meds but it was one of the best flights I've ever been on! Aside from my fat ass, taking up to much space Blush

:)

FoodieMum3 · 09/06/2014 17:04

Ok, so it's 5pm, I think I'm ok to celebrate? (Yay). Sorry if I'm coming across as insensitive to anyone who does have GD Blush
Whiteblossom,, I hope it's the same for you?

Ella, just 4lbs? That's fantastic. Very normal to put on most of the pregnancy weight from here on in.

FoodieMum3 · 09/06/2014 17:07

Oh and I'd say it's definitely coincidence ella - like I said, the symptoms are identical to regular pregnancy symptoms anyway.

Whenever I hear the symptoms of something, I immediately develop them, lol. It's purely psychological for me.
Tis is my 3rd pregnancy but I am such a worrier.

Finally sat on the sofa and eaten tea after being on the go since 7am. Hope I can keep this up for another 6 weeks.

Cindy good idea to put the mothercare stuff up straight away. I haven't, they've been sat in boxes around the house for about 2 months Blush Hope everything is there. Although they did mess us about a bit with the delivery so I reckon they would help if there was a problem.

Re. Dreams... I've had a few vivid dreams but not loads. My fave was dreaming of a baby swimming under water and smiling and the blue water was so bright and clear. It looked exactly like on the secret life of babies on itv last week when they filmed babies swimming underwater. I was like omg Shock my dream!!!!

TheOnlySeven · 09/06/2014 19:56

Hi all, I've not been around for several weeks, we've been really struggling with DS behaviour since he started on new medication, one of the side effects is mood swings and they're really not kidding! We had our scan the other week and found out that once again we're team pink.

I've decided not to have the GTT. I'm on my fourth pregnancy and never had any symptoms of GD or a big baby, plus I wasn't even offered the test with my first two. I figured just because they've changed the criteria for which women are offered the test it doesn't put me at any higher risk of having GD, hoping I don't get any hassle from the MW about it though.

Hope everyone is well, and I take it no early babies have arrived yet?

misog2000 · 09/06/2014 21:24

Have any of you taken anything like Rennie Deflatine or similar during this or other pregnancies? I have been getting the worst trapped wind (apologies for TMI Grin), it's really painful so I looked today and from reading the box I seem to be able to take them, but I haven't even taken a paracetamol so far as I've been too paranoid so thought I'd ask you guys.

polkadotdelight · 09/06/2014 21:27

TheOnlySeven you must have read my mind! Im coming up to 26 weeks and although Id be really upset if something started now I have started to think I should start to stock up on maternity pads etc! Congratulations on team pink (even though Id say the same for team blue!).

DH said yesterday that even though my bump is big that I dont look pregnant from behind - I was quite pleased with that! I do seem to be all at the front and it does get heavy now even though theres a while yet to go!

I was advised that I would need a GTT because my Dad is diabetic but nothing more has been said.

xxmissbrightsidexx · 09/06/2014 21:35

Don't know if anyone is near Newport, but just had an email from jojomamanbebe about their outlet sale. Bit far for me Grin but thought it might be useful for someone...

I'm not sure about having the GTT test either. It is offered to every pregnant woman here, regardless of risk factors, but as it is my 4th baby too, I have none of the UK risk factors, and I haven't had it before I was debating whether or not to do it. Mainly being swayed by the fact that, as we have no family here, DH would have to take time off from work to look after DS2 and he's so busy with work I'm not sure he'll be able to... I'm going to talk to midwife about it next week.

Happy birthday for yesterday missbrightside, glad you had a good day :)

KitKat1985 · 10/06/2014 10:49

Hello all. Hope everyone is well. Just checking in really. My bump is very lively this morning and has been kicking and bouncing around all over the place! Had a week off work last week and managed to make a reasonable amount of progress on the nursery which I'm pleased with. I figure it's best to try and get most of it done in the next few weeks as I suspect once I'm 30 weeks+ I'm going to want to do much more heavy work. Saying that I think I overdid it slightly yesterday after work by carrying stuff upstairs and pulled a muscle which really hurt. Must try to remember not to over-do it so much. Got another 10 and a half weeks to get through at work before I can start my leave. I've got a feeling that it's going to be a long 10 and a half weeks as I just find work so tiring at the moment and I'm not really interested in it at all at the moment, and would rather be working on the nursery or reading my pregnancy book.

KitKat1985 · 10/06/2014 10:51

^ Should obviously say that I suspect that once I'm 30+ weeks I'm NOT going to want to do much more heavy work.

Dazedconfused · 10/06/2014 11:02

haha Ella you are right it will be so weird.
I think my cat and baby (yes the one inside me) are in cahoots to cause as much mischief as possible at 3am every night. third night on the trot I have been bitten on the foot and then bump has let out a huge kick Grin

I hope you all get good gtt results. I'm not sure if we get the test routinely but midwife did say there will be blood test at 28week appointment. Do you think that will be for that?

My cousin is coming round tonight to give us a quote for decorating basically the entire upstairs in our house (only 2 bedrooms and a small bathroom so no mansion). I really love giraffe stuff and want a sort of jungle themed room for our wee one.

whiteblossom · 10/06/2014 12:57

Afternoon all,

Well the comments have started. Bump related. Ive been told several times this morning how "neat and tidy" my bump is which sounds like they are describing my bikini line lol! Im "looking very well" (good old fake tan and hair straightners/curlers).

Though one mum at school had no idea I was pg, she didn't look too chuffed either!

Im not sleeping well, im so uncomfortable.

Topsyloulou · 10/06/2014 13:40

Must be something in the air today white blossom as comments have started for me too. Also been told I have a neat bump. So far today I have also had that you wouldn't know I was pregnant from behind, you're blooming, radiant & you don't look big enough for 26 weeks. Not loving that my bump now appears to be a hot topic of conversation although it is all well intended.

Got my certificate to fly from the doctor this morning. Probably won't need it but I'm 28 weeks the day we fly back & don't fancy being stuck in a hot Italian airport trying to sort it all out. It cost £13 but think its worth having it just in case.
