That's hilarious ella! If only! I love how the only stress was where to put the tea Grin .

I should be having a sweep at 38 weeks, would be amazing if it was like your dream Smile. I very much doubt it though....

Ive not seen one of them for a while ella.

Im sorting birth plan out hopefully with consultant tomorrow after growth scan. The only thing I know is I want to be induced at 38weeks or section at that time. I cant handle the anxiety of it all any more and I know theeearlier he's here once he's fully cooked the safer it is for me. I've had many sleepless nights thinking about it all

Hi All. Just checking in!

Comments have started for me too, felt huge today though!

Got to go for my Anti D injection on Thursday! I was reading up about it the other day, and wish I hadn't. Not looking forward to the injection!

KatharineClover · 10/06/2014 19:56

Is this the kind of thing you are after ella?

Cumbrian i had anti D injection twice till now, last time on monday , it was fine, really easy and no pain at all, believe me ; just remember when they say keep it loose you should just relax and keep it loose :)

Ella I was really insistent in buying a bedside crib, so did some research, there are a few out there; I ended up choosing Troll bedside Crib (for birth to 4-6m) but Troll also has a bigger (proper Cot size) which is similar system and the side drops; look at John Lewis or amazon

Then there is also a Chicco one which I think is both travel crib and the side drops

I decided to go for a crib because when he is in our room in the first few months, I want his crib to be connected to our bed and the side to drop so I don't have to get up every time he cries and need comforting
After the first few months I'll buy a cot to put in nursery

I really like our Troll bedside Crib, obviously not used yet to see how it works, but it looks good, has wheels below it to carry to any room, the side drops easily and it is really like a mini cot which I like :)

topmammy · 10/06/2014 20:41

I still need to sort out a bedside crib too. Can't decide between renting a Bednest OR buying a gliding crib. Decisions decisions!

I feel so down this evening. It must be hormones as I felt fine earlier then suddenly didn't, like a switch being flicked. Doesn't help that due to DHs shifts and me working 9 - 5 we have barely seen each other since Sunday morning :(

Antenatal class tomorrow so looking forward to that :)

Hope everyone has had a good day!

RedToothBrush · 10/06/2014 20:56

Ella I hear you.

Originally thats what I was looking at as I didn't want a smaller one and then have to pay for a more expensive one. But we realised that the standard size of these at 120cm long would have caused problems with the other furniture we have and we wouldn't be able to get out of bed.

I did find a few out there, but it wasn't obvious from pictures at all. You had to read through descriptions very carefully. I don't recall who had some apart from the fact that most of the IKEA's do have an removable side if that helps you at all.

Instead we've been looking at the smaller ones and these are like total gold dust. I have been amazed at how much their resale value is second hand at the moment.

There really does seem to be a shortage all round for bedside cots/cribs to the point that I was quite shocked. Maybe there is a massive demand for them at the moment, but to be honest, there seems to only be a few styles available in the first place.

Acorncat · 10/06/2014 21:58

I'm planning to get an ikea cot and take the side off, can't really justify the extra cost of a proper bedside ones. I'm going to do a lot more research first, obviously won't do it if there's any risk. Not entirely sure it'll fit next to the bed, will need to rearrange the room I think.

RedToothBrush · 10/06/2014 22:32

Just seen an advert for Argos Sale on tv, H and M have their online sale on now, IKEA's sale starts on the 16th. Gap have sale on their website now.

In other words, sales are just starting this week...

IAteSomeofthePies · 10/06/2014 23:11

I had a scan this morning at 28 weeks. I have a few extras because of a medical condition. The kid is slightly below the 50th centile, and although that's obviously bang on normal, the consultant was surprised that the kid isn't bigger, as I am 181cm tall. Something else to worry about...

Somebody at work today both touched my belly and told me that I looked smaller than before I was pregnant! Hmm

CumbrianExile · 11/06/2014 18:11

Thanks Nazly. I will try to remember to stay calm, and turn my head away from the needle Grin. Did they do it in your arm? I have read that they sometimes do it on your backside, which would be worse I think.

Nazly · 11/06/2014 18:26

Hi Cumbrian, I had both, first on my back and my 28th week was in my arm, honestly, neither or them hurts ; i hear whooping cough one is worse

My mw asked whether I am right or left handed before doing it which scared me off, but if you keep your muscle loose it is not going to bother you at all.. It is also a very small injection... So don't worry...

Nazly · 11/06/2014 18:31

Oh what a quite day, nobody had nothing to say all throughout this day ???

I have been to Mother-care yesterday to buy a couple of comfy maternity things, Everything is so expensive, I don't want to pay that much for a mat cloth and then just wear it for 3 months ! Any affordable maxi/ normal dresses that I could buy ladies ? So I can wear them after? So far apart from a couple of trousers i bought everything either second hand or just normal loose clothes ... But I feel I am out of them again !

Nazly · 11/06/2014 18:32

Iate i thought they would give us a range for a reason? Anything on that range should be normal, no?

CumbrianExile · 11/06/2014 18:48

Ah, so it could be either then. Guess I will find out tomorrow!

I would have been on earlier, but really busy with work at the minute, and can't sneak on from there at the moment!

I did find some cheap maxi dresses in Primark. They are quite loose, so I would hope to be able to wear them afterwards, and for the price I don't mind even if I can't. They are very useful in the nicer weather we are having! I am struggling with pyjama's. Got some in the sale out of Mama's and Papa's, and they are amazing. But they only had 1 pair in my size, and everywhere I look now they are really expensive!

Teabiscuits · 11/06/2014 20:15

I'm struggling to find clothes for the warmer weather too - I can't justify buying full price for something I'm not going to be in for long. I've had some good finds on ebay, but also a couple which just don't suit me so I might put them back on there! I have a local charity shop with a maternity rail which is brilliant, but obviously very hit and miss. I did find 2 maternity/nursing tops in there a couple of weeks ago, barely worn and £4 each, bargain!

As for pj's, cheapo Primark ones have always been good for me, just go a size up. They go out of shape, and are often hideously chavvy a bit tacky but as long as they are 100% cotton I don't care Smile. Good for hospital bag too as you will need something you don't care about bleeding/leaking milk all over.

I don't know if its my kidney that's hurting, or if it's just general pregnancy pain but I really struggled walking to school today. Luckily another Mum saw me staggering up the hill and came running up behind me to take over pushing DS in the pushchair for me. Oh well, only 6 weeks term left then I wont have to worry!

Hope everyone is well today x

I am having to stop myself buying more maternity stuff as you're right nazly it's so expensive for such a short time. I did get a really useful and nice stretchy black cami top from mamas and papas in their online sale for £3 recently though, and also got a nursing dress and a white summer maternity top..... Blush so yeah I am doing really well at stopping myself lol. Full price it would've been about £60 but it came to about £30.

My PJs don't fit anymore, or trousers in general even if they're maternity, as my butt seems to be having a growing competition with my bump. I got a couple of nighties from Matalan which are really comfy and don't look too bad either. Did like a nightie from Mothercare but it was £20!

Someone I know had their baby by planned c-section today. Such a cute baby boy. It's made me feel like I've got ages to wait!

Hope everyone has had a good day :)

polkadotdelight · 11/06/2014 21:16

I only have 2 pairs of pyjama trousers that still fit me and thats only because they are ancient and the elastic is so weak. Am wearing DHs most of the time, he is so much taller than me that the waistband comes up over the bump to meet my bra band!

Busy day at work today, Ive stopped wearing my work tunic now and wear H&M t shirts. Nobody looked me in the eye today - everyone kept looking at my bump!

lilone1234 · 11/06/2014 22:25

polka There's a girl at my work who every morning walks in and says good morning to me while staring straight at the bump - amusing, but also becoming quite annoying.

Having same struggle with maternity clothes and also don't want to buy lots more, especially for work, as they are so expensive and won't get much wear! But normal dresses are now getting too short because of having to stretch over bump and maternity trousers are getting too small round the legs and bum! You'd think they would give you a bit of extra growing room all over rather than just stomach! We all know that unfortunately it rarely happens like that!

ilovemonstersInc · 12/06/2014 08:11

Ive been buying maxi dresses in my normal size and so far ok. They are all stretchy jersey so will be ok for after too hopefully like my old ones.

Had scan yesterday baby is already 3lb! Hes going to be another big baby. They want me to have a scan now every 4 weeks. Got a lovely pic of him yesterday!

Didnt get birthplan sorted as my main notes werent there Hmm but plan is to be proactive and more medication.
