Awww poor doggy! Hopefully the other noise will help and he'll just curl up and go to sleep.

I'm lucky - my dog is scared of pretty much everything and barks at anyone who dares walk past the window, but when it comes to thunder or fireworks she is not bothered!

xxmissbrightsidexx · 08/06/2014 19:33

Hi ladies just checking in :)
Ella I'm completely the same as you, I have two boys, and tbh wasn't listening at the 20week scan cos after she told us there could be something wrong I kinda drifted off and was struggling to grasp what she was saying. But OH said he heard her say twice and very confidently that it was a girl. I'm finding it soooo hard to believe lol, but have been buying girls clothes/Moses basket etc so am in a bit of panic too in case it's wrong, we have a scan on 18th June so will get them to double check then lol. I'm still pretty much in denial about this pregnancy as it is lol x

topmammy · 08/06/2014 19:44

Thunder & lightning has just started here. I kinda like it, unless I'm outside of course! Dinah what's a thundershirt for a dog? I'm intrigued!

I'm a bit paranoid about the sex of baby girl turning out to be a boy too, I'm sure it's normal :) Ella I couldn't see any boy bits on your scan either Grin

DearDinah · 08/06/2014 21:05

top it's a vest for your dog, supposed to work on pressure points to calm them, like getting hugged. It does help, without out he's ripping round the house at lest when he's wearing it he'll lie down a bit.

polkadotdelight · 08/06/2014 21:31

Cool, Ive never heard of that for dogs. I thought it was something along the lines of the thunder song in Ted!

DearDinah · 08/06/2014 22:17

Haha! I do sing f*k you thunder to him, I think it helps too!

candi404 · 08/06/2014 22:28

Hi everyone! Smile I'm totally new to mumsnet and first time pregnancy. Dd 8 September. Feeling very hot and bothered and like a turtle on her back whenever I try get up. But can't believe how fast it's going!

topmammy · 08/06/2014 22:42

Hahaha I like the thunder song too from that Ted film Grin Brill.

Gosh I don't want to go to work tomorrow! But I have to. Still, there are only 6 more weeks left, 30 days!!

Welcome candi :) I also feel like a turtle on my back, waggling my limbs in the air when trying to get up, hehe!

Nazly · 08/06/2014 22:56

I can't believe I am starting to feel heavy and uncomfortable and big at 28 W! There is really sth about these trimesters; bang at the start of third trimester I am beginning to feel it is hard and uncomfortable...
How am I going to cope with the rest of it...12 Weeks... How is everybody else coping? Can't imagine my bump getting any bigger than this... & It is already full of stretch marks

Anybody here had stretch marks from previous pgs? Am I going to look like a zebra for the rest of my life? Or is there a treatment ? As it stands Mine look awful! And they are spreading out quickly no matter what Oil/cream I use and how many times ! (I even left one cream in ladies at work for myself to use during day!!! )

Nazly · 08/06/2014 22:58

Oh something else, have you ladies bought changing units as yet? If yes which one and where from?

Welcome candi :) your turtle example is bang on

topmammy · 08/06/2014 23:08

I have thought that too Nazly about how weirdly I do feel heavily pregnant bang on the start of the third trimester. You're not alone :) I've been lucky not to get stretch marks yet though. I've been using bio oil (not everyday however) have you tried that?

I've got a changing unit, it's the summer oak range from Mothercare. Got true wardrobe and cot too. It's still in boxes around my house though Hmm

I also have just purchased the mothercare summer oak range - the cotbed and changing unit. The reviews r very mixed so as soon as it arrives I will be putting it together to check it is ok. (May have to dismantle it again tho if nursery not finished) At least then if there is a problem I have plenty of time to get replacements.. Will let u know how I get on.

holls2000 · 09/06/2014 07:53

Morning lovely people, hope all is well. Does anyone else have really vivid dreams? Mine are about work things that I'm stressing about - concerts or reports or suchlike and then about people I haven't seen or spoken to in years. It is really odd and makes me feel like I haven't slept even though I have!
Have mw appt this am, so have a bit of a lazy morning and a late start to work which is quite nice but also has added to my stress levels! Will feel better once have done the usual chit chat and heard the heartbeat. Do you reckon she will allow me to record it for my DH to hear?
Have a good week all. X

kicksandgiggles · 09/06/2014 09:27

Found the new thread! I've been rubbish about posting, but have been lurking when I can. I'm 27 weeks today, so finally in the third trimester. I've been told I'm unlikely to go past 36 weeks, so I guess only up to nine more weeks to go! All is well with the twins, but this pregnancy has gotten a lot harder over the past few weeks as I've developed some SPD and acid reflux, and am generally just bigger and more uncomfortable than I was with my first. All to be expected, I guess! I hope everyone is well.

Inbl00m · 09/06/2014 10:31

Morning all, loving that we've got another new thread already!

Holls the MW let me record the heartbeat last time I went - just don't hold your phone too near or you'll get feedback/interference on your recording.

Random q - when does the third trimester start? I've heard/read 27 and 28 weeks, but guess it must be one or the other. Touch wood I'm feeling amazingly well and body confident right now but have weddings/birthdays/family parties/anniversary celebrations to go to at 7 and 8 months and am wondering if there's any chance of feeling good in the later stages?

ilovemonstersInc · 09/06/2014 10:37

Dinah thank you for asking hes a lot more active today Grin

im sure I've said before but me and pregnancy dont mix too well. I have horrible pregnancies and it seems to be one thing after the other! Think iron levels have dropped a lot again. In 1 day they went from 11 to 10. In last pregnancy the lowest it went was 7 I think. At that time I couldn't get up, had no energy couldn't do anything. I feel exactly the same atm. Just can't find the energy to do anything. Ive come to dm and plonked myself on the sofa. Hv was supposed to be coming but she's not here

Happy birthday miss b.

Sun is still shining here but not sure for how much longer.

Any one know whether we can use insect repellant and if so which ones are good? Going to Italy on Saturday & hadn't considered Mosquitos until I read that our villa provides mosquito nets.

whiteblossom · 09/06/2014 12:23

holls ive had some vivid nightmares, all about ds dying and I cant do anything to help/stop. I wont go into details, its horrific and they stay with me. One woke me this morning.

happy bday miss b* its raining with thunder here. I like the rain though.

We had lovely weather yesterday and I overdid it in the garden....I really need to be more careful, I had to go to bed. I'd not eaten enough either. ds back at school today so im living o the sofa! well that's the plan but I want to get on with the ironing and finish a roman blind for ds room.

DS is only back in school for 6 weeks then he is off until sep so I want to try and get everything sorted for the school hols so I can spend some quality time with him before baby arrives....

petitverdot · 09/06/2014 12:32

Happy birthday miss b!

Topsy I think most insect repellents are OK - there seems to have been quite a lot of research done on them and they've found no effect on baby/pregnant mums Smile

FoodieMum3 · 09/06/2014 12:54

holls I have been having very vivid dreams from the beginning, most unpleasant Sad
I've had 2 recurring; one being that I am falling around drunk and heavily pregnant and another that I lose my toddler in public. So real and so upsetting.

inbl00 I've seen some books say that the 3rd trimester is 27-40 weeks so I am going by that.

Happy birthday missbrightside Flowers Cake I hope you get spoilt and have a lovely day.

I was told that I would get a phone call today about my GTT last Friday (if it was positive for GD) so as the hours pass by I'm getting more and more hopeful that it was negative.
My friend is a midwife and said I would definitely have heard by now, that they just said Monday to cover themselves.

whiteblossom · 09/06/2014 13:11

me too foodie, ive had a couple of local calls and I pooped myself thinking it was the mw/hospital. (didnt stop me eating a mars bar though Blush )

FoodieMum3 · 09/06/2014 13:12

When did you have the GTT whiteblossom?
I know, I HATE it when the phone rings today. I can't relax at all!
