I am grumpy with Tesco right now - did my online shop and they didn't have my deodorant (which was buy 2 get 2 free, and is much needed right now!) and also just completely forgot my bottled water and toilet roll. I mean come on, basic essentials! I like bottled water so I can have it very cold from the fridge.

It's so hot, i'm finding it a real struggle. Just the thought of hoovering makes me sweat, and I really like a clean house but just can't. Even moving away from my fan to fold laundry was difficult. I'm hungry too, but cooking means more heat!

DP has gone out to play, and will no doubt be keeping his fluid intake up with many nice cold alcoholic beverages. Envy

cookie Mint Aero Mcflurry sounds amazing right now! I agree that their machines should be clean enough not to cause a problem. I've had Mr Whippy ice creams while pregnant too - I can't say it's ever been mentioned as a food to avoid by the midwifes, and I can't recall reading about it on the NHS website. I'll try and avoid the ice cream vans for the rest of the pregnancy though, their cleanliness probably is questionable.

ella the midwife told me that they won't let anoyone with gd go past 40 weeks, and will induce after that point. I don't actually want to be induced but I will for several reasons:

  1. I don't want to risk my babies health
  2. I don't want the baby to get to big
  3. My father is due to have brain surgery and having a date for the baby means he has more of an idea when to book his surgery in for (after the baby is born)

Scary stuff!

ilovemonstersInc · 19/07/2014 19:52

That's a shame about whippy ice cream as I love mcflurrys!

Well it's been hot but got quite a few things for my hospital bag today. Just got to actually pack it now.

Also got a few maternity summer things from Matalan to see me through the next few weeks and it was all half price. In fact there were lots of sales today. Very happy with the maternity/nursing nighty I got from Mothercare - I've been eyeing it up for a while but it was a bit pricey at £20, but was reduced to £15 in the sale, then when I got to the till it was only £5! Bargain! Got some blooming marvellous slippers too for £3 reduced from £10.

Could do with a fan in my face right now! Too hot.

BooSurprise · 19/07/2014 20:00

My hospital induce at 38 weeks too, I'm waiting for my section date, as they wanted to see how I did with my other risk factors first, but they are very unlikely to let me go much beyond that 38 week mark.

ilovemonstersInc · 19/07/2014 20:15

That's a real bargain top

I think NICE guidelines are that you are offered delivery at 38 weeks, but you should be allowed to chose to await spontaneous labour with extra monitoring if you want to. The risks/benefits of both should be fully explained
www.nice.org.uk/guidance/CG63/chapter/1-Guidance
There is a table a fair way down about monitoring you should be given.
My main and only objective is to get baby here in the safest possible way for us, so it will defo be another section, and they don't want me going over 38 weeks, and I'm happy with that.
Absolutely they should give you time to ask and answer all the questions you have, and it's a good idea to write them down, I only ever remember what I wanted to ask when I get out!

topmammy · 20/07/2014 09:16

Good morning all :)

The sides right at the top of my thighs and my butt cheeks feel painful/a bit numb from lying on my side's during the night. It feels like I need to stretch them but can't. Anyone else get this? They will probably wake up once I get moving around.

Well lots of housework to do today but so much to do I don't know where to start lol. Still sat on the sofa!

ilovemonstersInc · 20/07/2014 10:56

Wow, wasn't here for about 4 weeks and had a lot of reading for last couple of days. As I see, we all have some last trimester problems and pains Smile. I've had a lot of tightening and hardening of the bump sometimes for couple of hours and for a whole days, also with some short sharp pains. Midwife was concerned about premature labour, but so far it's not regular.
Today 30+1, can't imagine we all will have a baby in just a several weeks!
We're slowly finishing painting in nursery and hopefully on Tuesday can move all furniture for baby there. After that is sorted I can start washing baby clothes and preparing hospital bag.
ilove hope you're okay now. You scared me about your hospital stay and everything so good to know you haven't got a baby yet and still keep him safe in your belly.
But at least your situation have made it more real for my fiancee and now he better understands we need to have everything ready as soon as possible and it doesn't mean baby will come exactly on due date, but can come couple of weeks early.
The idea of having a baby as soon as in 5 weeks scared him!

Hope everyone is okay, all GTT tests and scans went fine and all our pains will stop soon!

Btw. all of you had a GTT test? I didn't have any and wasn't even offered. Maybe it's just when in higher risk?? I don't know.

Topsyloulou · 20/07/2014 21:44

Think my little man is trying to make a bid for freedom through the right hand side of my bump. He has been giving it right kicking all day long, starting to feel bruised now!

Teabiscuits · 20/07/2014 22:55

Well that's another week gone, time really is flying!

velvet don't worry if you didn't have gd tests. You only get them if you are high risk or show symptoms, this is pregnancy number 4 and I've never been tested.

Hubby has torn a muscle or ligament in his leg, I am mostly doing beached whale impressions being all hot and exhausted. Between us we make about one fully functioning person, thank goodness for grandparents!

dontevenblink · 21/07/2014 02:35

Velvet same here, 4th pregnancy and I've never been tested either.

Time is definitely flying Tea I have 6 weeks today until my C-section!!!!! Starting to slightly panic now...

I am attempting to sort through the house and de-clutter, but short of throwing away most of the dc's toys I really think I am fighting a losing battle Sad Last time when I came home from hospital after 4 days the house looked like a bomb had hit it, DH kept saying 'don't worry, I'll sort it', but in the end I did as couldn't stand it any longer! He seemed to have just picked one chore, washing clothes, but hadn't managed to dry them properly or put them away as he said he didn't know where they went Shock I've read him the riot act this time Grin

ilovemonstersInc · 21/07/2014 07:32

Donteven its 39 days for due date. could be having a sweep in 9days or 17days!!

Velvet glad to have helped Grin

I'm sat comforting my poor cat who got what we think was a scratch to the eye from another cat last night. He is really not himself and his eye went all cloudy and the pupil totally shrunk. Going to take him to the vets today. DH was really upset as this is his favourite cat (we have another one as well). Gosh if we get this upset about our cat I dread to think how distraught we'd be if our child hurt themselves Shock

Was getting quite a few sharp pains up my woo yesterday (i believe they are 'fitting pains' as the baby's head finds the engaged position or something Confused ) I almost feel like I'm getting the beginning of period pains low down right at the front. Mainly just a mild dragging sensation. Just ignoring it as I'm not ready yet, got so much to sort out still lol. Stay put baby!!

ilovemonstersInc · 21/07/2014 07:59

Ahh top. Your poor cat. Im not really a cat or dog person. But dont like to see them suffer. I used to have2 turtles Grin our cat then kept taking them oout of their tank to eat them and dad would find them in his shoes next morning! When I went on my honeymoon I left them at mums (where I was living at the time) and 1fdied and they couldnt find the other. When I came back I found him behind the blinds! Alive!

Them pains arent nice. Esp as baby gets bigger!!
Pains here seem to comr and go still. Had a few yesterday but tried to ignore them as its my babys first birthday today Cake
dh doesnt want me buying anything yet as he wants to choose too which made me cry as all hes got from us isan eexpensive pair of khaki pants which are really nice. Dh doesnt do birthdays as where he comes from its just anothrr day and here im used to all the big hoohaa of parties and presents feels horrible not giving him anything. Will be going out for a meal once fasting finishes

ilove I didn't mean it like that, but yeah Smile

donteven Gosh, how do you feel about knowing your exact date when baby comes? Does it make it little bit 'easier'?
Anyone else who has already date for c-sections?

topsy My little boy is the same! He really loves crouching on my right side of my bump so I have quite flat left side and than a lump on right side :) Think he's pushing his bum there and then punching me with a fist into ribs on left side. Probably it's a good fun for him! Grin

ilovemonstersInc · 21/07/2014 09:11

Lol I know Grin

OP posts:
dontevenblink · 21/07/2014 10:25

Yikes ilove that's not long for you now is it! Can't believe its getting so close for us all now...

velvet its a bit bizarre knowing a date, first time I've known despite it being my 4th as even though dc3 was an elcs I didn't know until 4 days before as we moved countries and had to wait to see a consultant for them to make a decision .
It is useful being able to sort childcare for other 3 dc though as have no family here, DH has been able to book 3 weeks leave starting with section date, and my mum has booked a flight to arrive just before DH goes back to work Smile Does make it all seem a bit surreal for me though, not sure if I almost prefer not knowing (possibly wierdly Grin )and is all dependent on baby not making an early appearance!

whiteblossom · 21/07/2014 10:31

Morning all, I too have been having 'woo pains', sorry 'woo' made me laugh Grin TOPMAMMY, Im glad you know what they are they are they were a bit of a worry this weekend as we were away. I noticed that when I got up for a wee in the night that it very much felt like the head was way low down but it seams to be back out now.

We were visiting family this w/end and they all thought I was big, those that didn't know when I was due kept say, "how long now, two, three weeks" er no try 6 or 7!! Lots of "you will be early" comments.

I really don't think Im that big...maybe Im deluded!! I did take a pic will try and post from phone. Im not small but Im not massive either. Im just carrying very low and I go straight out the front.

The heat this weekend has been unbearable, we had to take two fans with us and I kept disappearing to sit in front of them!

I really need to do a hospital tour, Ill try and do that this week. Still working on hospital bag...

hope you all had a good weekend Smile
