Hope you like the title - like inside us, there was no room on the other thread!

Neither DH nor I are/were interested in the football. But my parents are mad for it.

At least with the elcs bean will be almost 2 weeks old before that kicks off, so hopefully they'll pay attention to both bean and footie, even if they'll arrive here basically right on time to see it.

Worse for us is Farnborough Airshow.

mixi does having OC this time mean it's more likely for future pregnancies too?

mixi82 · 08/06/2014 10:34

Yes fifi been told it's highly likely to reoccur in future pregnancies but I'm sure by the time I pop I'll realise it was all worth it!

ismarah are you near farnborough? I'm having baby at Frimley Park

AuntieMaggie · 08/06/2014 13:03

Another morning at the assessment unit getting BP checked... down even further so who knows what caused Thursdays spike?!

Interesting listening to the goings on and stuff that the mws have to deal with though especially the amount of women calling because they'd just had their first contraction and listening to the mws doling out the same advice (take paracetomal/cocodomal, have a bath, go for a walk, call us back when they're 5 mins apart, etc...) they should just record it tbh then they can get on with dealing with the other calls/admittances which were more urgent. Again several women walking around in dressing gowns, mainly those not yet popped, which made me wonder whether you get cold when you're in there for a while as I was boiling!

Mw did say that she expects I'll end up back there a few more times before baby arrives and if I end up back at about 38 weeks I may as well just have the baby! Trying to ignore that for now! I have a scan and consultant appt on Weds so we'll see what they say...

BlueC2 · 08/06/2014 14:29

auntie glad all ok! The few times I've been in triage I've found it v interesting listening/observing too!

So I've spent the whole morning cleaning the Phil+Teds pushchair-partly cos I'm a bit slow and cumbersome now but mainly cos it was disgustingly filthy!! Just don't know how my SIL could bare it like that?! Or do standards just slip so so badly once you have 2DC?? However after a thorough hoover and wash down with warm water/tea tree oil it's now looking great and despite being a bit clunky I'm actually looking forward to giving it a go!

Plateofcrumbs · 08/06/2014 14:42

I must, must, must finish some gardening today but SO shattered and uncomfortable. DH is busy DIYing and doesn't like gardening so am on my own. I normally really enjoy a good garden potter, I even enjoy weeding, but it's all just too tiring right now. Right, back to it...

icklekid · 08/06/2014 14:51

plate having just given up on the garden you have my sympathy- I also normally like pottering but bump gets in the way, back aches and I end up feeling sick. Now just sat enjoying some sun!

blue glad you got the pushchair clean hopefully you will appreciate the hard work when you get to use it!

auntie easy to say I won't be ringing come first contraction however in the panic I probably will although I know they will say wait until more regular etc!

Plateofcrumbs · 08/06/2014 15:29

Do the hospitals not want to know when you've started contractions, even when the advice will be stay at home? I thought it might be a bit like air traffic control, they'd want to know what was coming in for landing? I guess it's so variable how long it will take for labour to get properly established it perhaps doesn't help.

AuntieMaggie · 08/06/2014 16:26

plate check with your mw but ours don't want to know until they're a certain number of minutes apart as it's so variable it gives them no indication of when you'll be coming in - could be that day could be the next week. Though if any concerns like baby not moving or waters breaking that's different.

Incapinka · 08/06/2014 16:33

Do phone if your waters go though!! Mine 'popped' but had no contractions so luckily they said to come in and get checked. No twinges or anything for the next hour so we sauntered in expecting to be sent home only for them to have a look and say I was 7cms! DS was born within a couple of hours. Think we were all in shock especially as when the contractions did start they didn't actually stop.

Lovely sunny day here. Took DS down to the beach this morning whilst DH was out on a 5 hour bike ride. Really glad I made the effort but energy levels are zapped now!

Hope everyone is having nice Sundays.

Plate well done for not eating cheese. I don't know if I could have been so strong... Can't wait to devour Brie...

And so pleased auntie that your bp is heading back the right way

ismarah · 08/06/2014 16:53

Anyone else starting to be really ratty with their DH/P?
Mine is the most placid of husbands but right not him speaking is enough to make me want to smush his face. Or tell him to shut up. Loudly.

coco808 · 08/06/2014 17:48

lol at your post ismarah Grin I was like that a few weeks ago

how annoying plate... only a few weeks to go before you can eat all of that.

auntie glad the BP is better

incap its been pouring with rain here all afternoon. I went to John lewis and got soaked walking from the car park

mixi the itching is sooo annoying, isn't it? Mine is on my hands today and the middle of my back where I can't reach! Have you noticed any problem with food digestion? I can't keep anything down with fat or protein in it!! I ate a pizza last night...BAD IDEA!

AuntieMaggie · 08/06/2014 18:18

ismarah yep dp is getting on my nerves!

How am I supposed to lean forward and put my feet up?

So baby is very active this eve - has moved from one side to the other I think and is putting a lot of pressure down below and I've got some period like pains :/

ismarah · 08/06/2014 18:38

Dammit. As if to foil my rattiness, he's only gone and weeded the entire front garden.

So now I feel churlish and ungrateful because I'm still angsty. Can't win, clearly.

mixi82 · 08/06/2014 18:39

ismarah I've been like that with my mum recently and then feel so guilty afterwards cos she's done so much for me. The itchiness and heat add to it though, not that that an excuse of course!

coco not noticed much on the food front or digestion really but not been on Urso long enough to notice I guess. Is that what you're on too? I'm dreading sleeping tonight so wondering whether I should get some sleep in now even if it means being awake most of the night. Have you had any leg cramps since the itchiness started getting severe? I've noticed I get it and lucky I walked down to shop with brother just now, leg went into cramp randomly and at least he was there to hold onto!

AuntieMaggie · 08/06/2014 18:53

Ha ha ismarah dp has cleaned the sofas... I hate it when they do that!

mixi try eating bananas to counteract the cramps?

Not sure if I'm having Braxton hicks though not feeling any tightening...

icklekid · 08/06/2014 19:03

This thread made me laugh www.mumsnet.com/Talk/pregnancy/2100944-Carnt-stop-eating-jelly-babies jelly babies as miracle gro for babies!

Well done to your dp/dh ismarah and auntie if only...

I'm shattered tonight so watching the secret life of babies on itv catch up as everyone at NCT was raving about it!

Incapinka · 08/06/2014 20:22

I know what you mean with DH and DM getting on nerves. My poor DH poo picked my horses field for me this afternoon whilst I lunged the horse. He looked a bit shattered from it and commented that it was rather muggy and I said a very unsympathetic 'oh dear' which sounded incredibly sarcastic. It just slipped out. After all he is meant to be an ironman in training! But I am very grateful so have had to try and be a bit nicer since.

I just don't think they realise how bloomin exhausting this baby growing malarkey actually is, especially when running round after a toddler.

elliejjtiny · 08/06/2014 21:00

Just checking in. No baby yet. anyone heard from mrsc? People at my hospital were waiting for days to go to labour ward to have their waters broken so don't know why I'm expecting a quick announcement.

AuntieMaggie · 08/06/2014 21:16

I'm also wondering about Mrsc though if they had any emergencies in she may not have been induced on Friday...

MovingUpwards · 08/06/2014 21:30

Hello all, ooh how exciting to see babies coming, Im 34 weeks today and seems like so long left! Im hoping the next few weeks fly by.

My boy is still lying transverse, have done the scary inversion a couple of times and tried crawling around on my hands and knees a bit but nothing helping so far. Not had a chance to go swimming yet which someone upthread recommended but taking the girls to Butlins in a couple of weeks so hopefully will be in the pool lots then! Havent seen any decent maternity swimwear anywhere yet, I really need boob support as they are so massive right now and would prefer a tankini to a one piece but all Ive seen are designed to show off a bit of your bump which I dont really want to do.. all so expensive as well which puts me off as I'll only be using it for a week or two at most.

Ive had a bit of a rubbish week, DH fractured his foot on weds so Ive been running around looking after him and having to pick up the slack on the housework and SPD still bad Sad He should be back to normal sometime this week so im looking forward to getting some rest! Im still having difficulty getting to sleep, mainly through discomfort and waking up several times a night.

Im due to see my midwife this week at 34 weeks, how often will I start seeing her after this week?

coco808 · 08/06/2014 21:33

hope MrsC is ok!

mixi I'm not taking urso. Leg cramps have been horrendous and I have big itched bleeding areas on my legs, arms and back. Now I have started on my belly and I know that would lead stretch marks...arragghhh

BlueC2 · 08/06/2014 23:30

mixi and coco huge respect for you ladies with the itching! It would be driving me insane and I would be a total nightmare to live with!! As I said before the heat rash on my feet is enough to send me loopy without any further itching anywhere else!

I've just started a thread asking advice on prep for a home water birth as feeling rather under prepared in that respect...anyone else considering a home birth (waves to justhayley ) and have any lists or tips for prep?

Really hoping DS has a better night tonight, each time I nearly fell asleep last night he started crying :( not sure if he's got a bit of a bug or whether it's these last back teeth coming through, hoping it's the latter- an end to teething would be mist welcome before baby arrives!

mixi82 · 09/06/2014 02:59

coco I would definitely ask your consultant or MW about Urso, helps with the reducing the bile salts.

I would love to be asleep now, clearly baby is catching some zzzz's but it's too hot for me!! My eyes are stingy and just want to sleep. I can see my labour being frustrating if I get hot!

icklekid · 09/06/2014 04:31

blue I'm the same with heat rash on my feet Sad nightmare!

moving I'm 35 weeks and seeing midwife every 2 weeks- is my 1st. Might be less frequent with 2nd baby though as I know people have mentioned that earlier in pregnancy? Sorry to hear about your DH what a nightmare! I bought cheap black maternity swimwear from tesco- worth a look!

mixi I miss sleep and realise that I won't get any when baby comes doesn't help. ..popped over to check on friends who live round the corner with a 1 week old (brought pressie and cake!) Their little one has gone from sleeping lots but not feeding to feeding lots but not sleeping! 3am they went for a drive b yesterday. Baby fell asleep. ..until they got home! Reminded me of this advert we saw at cinema recently - worth a watch!
