Hope you like the title - like inside us, there was no room on the other thread!

Liquid if you are normally prescribed antihistamines then you should be OK with piriton and clarityn - sorry I don't know the chemical names, just the brand ones.

But those should be available in any supermarket so you should be able to get some relief.

I have hayfever as well as severe (!) allergies so I've asked lots of medical peeps about this lots of times. Depending on who you talk to they either spout the MIMS line - or they are more reasonable and suggest either of those two.

Gosh, enormously exciting to see it all kick off - good luck Ellie! Thinking of MrsC too, can't wait for our first announcement.

I packed my DH's clothes and washbag into my bag as there's space - just clothes and sleeping things for three days as I doubt we'll be there longer than that. Very exciting - I think I'm ready now. If nothing else, given that his head is now engaged, I can't wait to meet him and also to feel like turning over isn't a huge effort.

Good luck all of you - maybe we should give ourselves a nicknames? The twingers perhaps? Certainly every time I get a twinge I jump a bit!

MrsA2 · 07/06/2014 20:10

Ahh baby grows washed and out drying on the line, they look SO tiny and cute.

SPD sufferers - are you in more pain at night, struggling to turn position or get out of bed? I'm uncomfortable in the day, pain under my bump and over my pubic bone particularly if I try to walk any distance (like 100 metres, not far), but it's at night that I really struggle. I haven't been diagnosed with SPD so it might not be that. I have a wonky pelvis (not the technical diagnosis) and curved spine so it makes sense that all the stretching down there would be a bit of a mess for me either way.

lentilpot · 07/06/2014 20:32

We put together our snuzpod today! It was an extravagant birthday present from my mum, really pleased with it and seeing it next to the bed made it all seem rather real. Also washed a load of teeny newborn babygros today. Eek!

AuntieMaggie · 07/06/2014 20:42

MrsA yes definitely in more pain at night. I saw an osteopath last week who confirmed that the left side of my public bone is 'out' and as such all the ligaments/muscles trying to hold in place are knackered (my words not hers). She managed to do something to ligaments/muscles so they aren't so tight/painful but the public bone still is especially at night and some nights I get real 'bone ache'. I try to fall asleep with hot water bottle between my legs and take paracetamol which helps but still hurts like he'll when I turn over or get up. You can get codeine from gp if really bad. I also use crutches some days but my hands are really knackered now so tend not to do anything instead :(

I made the mistake of weighing myself earlier - I haven't been an angel but I haven't been eating for two either but I'm heavier than I've ever been. Had a cry in the bath about it earlier as I don't like me atm. I know it'll be worth it when baby arrives.

MrsA2 · 07/06/2014 21:04

Auntie that 'bone ache' is exactly it, so uncomfortable and then trying to change to lie on my other side is awful. Poor you on crutches, that's really tough.

I am struggling with how massive I feel now too. I really liked my pregnant figure at 20-30 weeks but now I feel like a whale and can't imagine losing the weight and getting back to 'normal'.

As you say, once there's a baby here it'll be all worth it, but right now I can't imagine going through another 9 month pregnancy again in the future. Really I haven't had it that bad compared to many of you so shouldn't moan.

Incapinka · 07/06/2014 21:05

Auntie Maggie - DH would be so jealous about your cliff bars! He is obsessed with them at the moment and eating a ridiculous amount of food what with the ridiculous amount of training he is doing.

And don't worry about weight. Really. You are growing a baby and have every right to put on weight. Just stay away from the scales!! And I am sure once he/she arrives and life settles back down it will soon go. Just don't be like me and weigh yourself as soon as you get back from the hospital. I was very disappointed!!

Incapinka · 07/06/2014 21:08

MrsA I know how you feel. I struggled being pregnant the first time and didn't have it too bad but this time
I have really struggled with exhaustion (haven't slept through for 7 months now) and chasing around with a toddler and leg and back ache. Bring on the next 5 weeks.

fifi669 · 07/06/2014 21:46

Any one else's DP looked up the World Cup timetable to see what games they're likely to miss?

lemonpoppyseed · 07/06/2014 21:59

fifi

Oh yes. And we have a running bet going. Which will exit first? Baby lemon or England? Grin

FoxtrotOscarBackToEconomy · 07/06/2014 22:06

fifi not yet! but I'm sure it's only a matter of time!

MrsC hope everything went ok for you today. Thinking of you.

Ellie hope you are ok too.

I'm officially on maternity leave now! Grin I was dreading finishing work but I am quite glad to have finished now.

I think I might have everything I need for the first go at packing the hospital bag. I can't believe how small a pack of size 1 nappies is!

ItsAlwaysBetterOnHoliday · 07/06/2014 22:29

So had our last NCT class tonight (whoo for rock n roll Saturdays!) and can confirm the fabled knitted boob did indeed make an appearance! Hurrah.

fifi669 · 07/06/2014 23:02

If my section is at 39 weeks it will be 3rd July. DP is happy no matches are scheduled for that day. Bless him.

KitKatChick · 07/06/2014 23:13

Good luck Ellie and MrsC!

I'm definitely nesting now, just wish I was cleaning and washing baby clothes rather than undertaking decorating projects!

We've had our second NHS class today. Quite informative but considering how much I've read about pregnancy and labour I'm quite guilty of not looking beyond childbirth. Really need to read up on newborn care, breast feeding etc.

I'm refusing to weigh myself for now MrsA . I've made that mistake a few weeks ago and while everyone says I've not put much weight on I'm pretty sure they're just being nice as there's no way my legs ever looked this huge !
Hope we have more sunshine tomorrow.

osinachi · 07/06/2014 23:25

Oh and Ellie all the best with your early arrival.

elliejjtiny · 07/06/2014 23:46

The post about the knitted boob reminded me of the time when I called the midwife out in tears to help me breastfeed DS1 and she came into my living room, sat down and said "oh no, I've left my boob in the car". I think that cheered me up more than the breastfeeding help. During the booking in appointment with DS4, DS3 opened a cupboard. I went over to stop him and the midwife said it was fine. The only thing in that cupboard was a doll complete with cord and placenta. DS3 just stared at it with a very puzzled look on his face Grin.

No baby for me yet, not even a twinge. I've just packed all the bits for my hospital bags, minus the couple of things I still need to buy. DH looked at it in horror and said it was way too much and he could bring in anything I needed. After last week when he brought me pj's that were 2 sizes too small, the wrong kind of haribo sweets and 10 bottles of lucozade for my non existent labour (I have packed 2 bottles in my bag of snacks which will probably be more than enough) I am packing everything I could possibly need. I'm going to be in for 48 hours minimum because of my prolonged rupture of membranes and maybe a bit more if baby is prem. I've got a little suitcase for labour and just afterwards and a bigger suitcase for the postnatal ward that seems to be mostly filled with nappies and sanitary towels. Oh and 4 pairs of pj's for me in case of leakage.

elliejjtiny · 08/06/2014 00:28

I've got a labour bag, a postnatal bag and a carrier bag with drinks and snacks in. DH suggested I have everything for labour and 1 night in postnatal ward in one suitcase and he can bring in extras. I've said no way!

Plateofcrumbs · 08/06/2014 01:21

Just back home from a dinner party hosted by a French friend who, despite doing a dietary requirements check earlier in the week, managed to serve up four courses of 'stuff a pregnant woman isn't supposed to eat':

-pâté
-duck breast served pink
-cheeseboard of Brie, Roquefort, goats cheese
-chocolate mousse with raw egg.

I did get some substitutions for the pâté and choc mousse, but sitting with an empty plate for half an hour whilst everyone else demolished the cheeseboard was a killer. Envy

BlueC2 · 08/06/2014 01:35

Great to see everyone getting organised and glad not to be alone on the not standing on the scales bit Inca I also remember being mightily disappointed when checking my weight after DS born! I must say though that breastfeeding is by far the best diet I have ever been on - really hoping that does the trick this time too as my tree trunks thighs are stockpiling fat reserves ready for milk production again!

So today we visited my DB and SIL who have a 3.5yr old and a 1.5yr old. Such such hard work as their kids just run riot the whole time and though they'd offered us their Phil and Teds double pushchair they'd not gathered any of it together nor cleaned it. It's been stored in their garage where DB has been doing woodwork so is literally covered in sawdust so I'm going to have to give it such a good clean. I shouldn't moan as they won't take any money for it but I need to feel it's clean before I put my little one in it. Then to top things off SIL really annoyed DH with loads of meddling, stupid and insensitive questions about his work which has really wound me up! Grrr! Family is just hard work sometimes!

And now tis 1.15am ish and once again I'm awake! Oh for some decent sleep at some point!

BlueC2 · 08/06/2014 01:37

plate SO not fair with the menu choices!

mixi82 · 08/06/2014 02:49

Oh wow, just catching up with a few pages of posts!!

fifi hope you're not in too much pain

mrsc and ellie good luck and look forward to hearing about your bouncy babies very soon!!

I'm so frustrated at the moment with this OC. Had scan Friday and baby has definitely turned and head down so a bit of good news. Got prescribed "Urso" tablets which worked marvellously up until tonight where the itching has returned and I just feel like crying out of frustration!! Needless to say I can't sleep and absolutely exhausted after shopping today, although buying tiny baby clothes was in some ways quite fun as they're so cute. Got to go day assessment twice a week now until baby arrives and will have date to be induced at 37 wk point on 20th June.....getting so close so getting a little anxious now esp with having baby early.

ARGHHHHHH!!!! just want the itching and leg cramps to stop

icklekid · 08/06/2014 06:02

Auntie and mrsa scales aren't friends at the best of times so last few weeks of pregnancy isn't the time to start caring about them! Oddly despite being huge and some horrific stretch marks I don't mind pregnant body shape - more so than normal but actual weight- don't want to know. Is motivating me to slim down post baby though fingera crossed for the breastfeeding diet blue!

fifi yes to world cup although due 11th july so England should be out by then! At our 1st nct all men were talking about good timing so they would be off work to watch more. Lots of Hmm looks from partners! Maybe all us ladies should go out for dinner for the final and leave men + babies!

plate that is a dream menu but can imagine so frustrating when pregnant! Well done for resisting on cheese especially!

ellie despite all classes etc think my dh will also be in for shock when he sees everything for hospital bag together! I'm going for 1 bag for me for labour, 1 bag for post labour (can stay in car), 1 bag for baby! All containing hidden food/treats for me!!!

Hope you got some more sleep blue and mixi I just keep thinking not long to go now which helps at 3/4/5am!

BlueC2 · 08/06/2014 08:39

So I didn't fall asleep til 4am - just so tired!

mixi I can't even begin to imagine the itching - the heat rash on my feet sends me potty enOugh! You have my sympathies!

Re world cup my EDD is the day of the final which may partly be why DH excited at prospect of a home birth :)

Plateofcrumbs · 08/06/2014 09:33

DH has been on a diet recently and seems to be delighted to report that he weighs 10kg less than me. Envy. Actually I'm pretty OK with how I look at the moment, it's the 'saggy boobs and mum tum' further down the line that gives me the fear.

A bit cheesed-off (literally) about last night's dinner. Wouldn't have minded if it hadn't have been a bit "you can't eat any of this, oh well, shame". And no-one really talked about the fact I was having a baby, including friends I have known for years who I haven't seen since I've been pregnant. I did feel a bit like the elephant in the room (again, literally).
