So sorry to hear that emac Sad

Thanks for the list jack this will be my DC1 too

Felt really rough today, not like I was actually going to be sick but a lot worse than I was feeling last week! I'm finding it difficult to concentrate at work, counting down til my holiday on Monday - 2 whole weeks off :)

My booking in appointment is the week I get back, so 9 weeks, and I don't see anyone before then - will she refer me for my scan? Seems like such a long time to wait, and I'm really hoping not having the first appointment til 9 weeks won't mean I have to wait even longer for the scan

Memphisbelly · 03/06/2014 23:32

Doyouwanna I don't think it will put back scan, every nhs trust is different but in our area they give you scan date on your appointment, I have been told they will get me a scan booked within the week of my appointment.

carmen87 · 04/06/2014 08:13

I'm taken folic acid and a women's health mum to be that the chemist advised me to take! Only really been taken it two days at the moment though x

persepolis123 · 04/06/2014 08:21

doyouwanna they don't see us until 10 weeks around here but with DS I got a scan date for 12 weeks in the post a couple of days after my booking in.

MrsBeeBeeBee · 04/06/2014 11:42

Hello ladies! New here, got my BFP this morning.

Due date 9th Feb.
This is #2 with a 2yr 10mth gap between them.

MrsCK · 04/06/2014 12:15

jdr I am having problems with pregnacare at the moment and don't think I will try and take anymore. I take tablets every day for another condition, so I am used to it...but after trying the pregnacare plus the tablets are huge. They have made me vomit twice now and even the thought of them makes me feel sick. I have little folic acid ones which go down nicely so I think I will stick to them!!

MsFrazzles · 04/06/2014 12:16

Hi, can I join you please? My EDD is 30 Jan, but feel more at home on this thread! So I'm nearly 6 weeks, first pregnancy. Found out by chance really early and have been struggling a bit. I suffer from anxiety anyway and this has really kicked it off big time. I'm terrified that I will do something to harm the baby's development and now I'm worrying that the worrying will hurt the baby! I'm seeing a CBT counsellor so hopefully that will help.
My husband and I have been married 2 years and only started trying last month! We didn't expect it to happen so soon but he is so excited.
We're also moving house later this month so lots going on... Fingers crossed I will be able to stay on top of the anxiety...

Mimosa1 · 04/06/2014 12:20

Thanks, jack, for maintaining the list. This is going to be my DC1 :-)

donkir · 04/06/2014 13:57

Hi there, can I join please. We got our BFP on Saturday night. Due 8th February. We're so excited. I already have a son who's 12 so there will be a big gap. Anyone else got such a big gap?

Memphisbelly · 04/06/2014 15:18

Welcome to everyone new!

Mrsfrazzles hopefully talking through your anxiety with cbt and people around you (and us) it will help, I suffer anxiety about a lot of things, got quite bad pnd after ds and I am feeling positive so far, I spoke to HV before I concieved and they want to keep in touch through pregnancy so that once baby is born I am more at ease with them.

We head on Honeymoon tomorrow, I am all packed, house needs a quick tidy in morning before we go, we are back Tues, expecting lots of newbies to arrive on thread over the weekend

tonightsthekindofnight · 04/06/2014 15:43

Hi everyone, been lurking a little while but please may I join. Got a bfp on Friday and it was a very happy shock. My son is 5 and my daughter is 12 months so we weren't planning for #3 so soon but I am delighted. Think my edd is around feb4th but I've only just stopped bf my daughter so haven't had a period since I gave birth. This guess is from clearblue plus my guess at conception!! Lovely reading all your posts.

flirty30s · 04/06/2014 20:09

So sorry emac will be thinking of you. Just take some time to yourself, drink lots of wine, and do some nice couple things. I was same situation as you, got preg first go then lost early. I got my bfp 2 months later and am praying it sticks. Fx you get a sticky bean soon too. Welcome to tonight, frazzle and all the other febbies!! Smile

Doodlekitty · 04/06/2014 21:00

Hi all. Got my bfp this morning. Baby number 2 due 9th feb, but number 1 was 2 weeks late.

Viperama · 05/06/2014 00:06

Hi All, just got my BFP 10 minutes ago, big waves to my bus buddies! I was gagging to get over here Smile

Due date Feb 9th, #1, emc in February so I'm cautiously optimistic.

Mrsm14 · 05/06/2014 07:30

msfrazzles I have had cbt for panic disorder and have suffered with health anxiety. It is a worrying time but I'd say try to remember that holds for everyone and give yourself a break. We will all be excited, then worried; happy then tearful. It's nothing to worry about in itself and I am sure these little ones can be pretty resilient :) I feel for you though - I'm working in a fairly new job, doing final exams and coursework for a college course, and today have to do a presentation to over 100 people - complete bundle of anxiety!!

Question for everyone - I had my first doctor's appointment last night and all my calculations from things online etc say I am 6+1 - doctor said I am 7. Anyone else had this? Want to believe her but keep thinking she must've made a mistake!

Memphisbelly · 05/06/2014 07:39

Mrsm it does happen, my friends doc put her two weeks ahead so she got her scan earlier then they calculated her just one week ahead, if doc is wrong thing positive that you will get scanned earlier then if below 12 weeks once you get there they will want to scan you again so they can do the 12 weeks checks, two extra views of baby!

mrshjb · 05/06/2014 07:51

It's because they go from a 28 day cycle with ovulation on day 14 so for most people they're not accurate at all! I'm pretty sure the same thing will happen to me when I have my midwife appointment!

Congratulations to everyone who has joined recently!

Memphisbelly · 05/06/2014 08:04

Really? My doc asked how long my cycle was to get an accurate date, funny how they all work so differently. Roll on Thursday so I can go to the midwife, doesn't feel real at all still.

mrshjb · 05/06/2014 08:12

Ah maybe they are different then. It does make more sense for them to ask your cycle length! I'm just going off what my friends said! My midwife appt isn't until Monday 16th!

carmen87 · 05/06/2014 08:43

Anyone else has back ache at night when in bed? Lower back, I have for the past 3 nights! I'm just panicking coz it was the same pain I got on the night I m/c maybe not as bad! I am all panicky lol 5 weeks on Friday this week has flew over which is good

Mrsm14 · 05/06/2014 08:53

Just phoned midwife and they won't see me until 11 weeks Sad

Mimosa1 · 05/06/2014 15:54

Carmen I've has the same - lower back pain at night, especially on the right side. Trying not to worry as I understand that can be quite normal- ligaments stretching, etc.
I am having a scan at 6w+0 days on Sat. Has anyone done one then ? Could you tell me what to expect?
Warm wishes to you all! X

Mimosa1 · 05/06/2014 15:54

*had

NowThenMardyBum · 05/06/2014 16:41

Can I join? BFP yesterday, EDD 3rd Jan. DC2 for me, DD is 14 months and a little gem.

ProudlymadeinSA · 05/06/2014 17:07

Hi everyone. Great to see so many newcomers in the last week! Carmen - I've had all sorts of aches and pains and convinced myself I have been miscarrying about 6 times so far. I haven't. I think it's just ligaments stretching.

All of you wishing you were having early scans - a word of warning - I had one today (didn't ask for it, just turns out it's normal practice here in South Africa) at 6 weeks and though we could see the gestational sac and yolk sac there was no foetus. Gynae seemed to think that was fairly normal and has asked me to come back at 8 weeks. But now of course I'm worried something's wrong, even though today was the first day I had a little nausea and actually felt a tiny bit 'pregnant'. So if you are booking early... Don't book tooooooo early unless you are prepared for unnecessary stress!

Good luck everyone!
