Hello everyone and welcome and congratulations to all newbies! Sorry for the absence, my iPad has been playing up.

All quiet here, just very sore boobs (one more than the other - v strange!). We have a family BBQ on Sunday so a bit worries about giving the game away. Going to be drinking 'gin' and tonics!

JacktheLab · 30/05/2014 09:10

Morning all :)

Shall we start a list? I can do it tonight once I back on the laptop Grin

My period was due today so I've used my last test just to make sure!

mrshjb · 30/05/2014 09:59

I'm up for a list. What stats do you want?!

JacktheLab · 30/05/2014 10:04

Ummm, due date and what number child, ie this will be my second child.

mrshjb · 30/05/2014 10:38

Due 28th Jan (ish) 1st child :)

Skye89 · 30/05/2014 10:55

Hi all and welcome to anyone new.

burmamma I've also been waking up quite often through the night, mostly around 5am. I find that I don't feel comfortable sleeping, not sure why and I'm usually a deep sleeper.

My stats Skye89 baby #1 edd 31st Jan

Burmama · 30/05/2014 11:12

I'm exactly the same Skye89. Usually can't be woken with a mac truck but for the last week been very restless sleeper.

I'm up for a list Jack. My stats Burmama - First baby, edd 3 Feb

jdr1234 · 30/05/2014 13:30

I'm due jan 28th, 1st child

JacktheLab · 30/05/2014 14:33

Thanks guys I can unleash my inner nerd this evening and get us all into date order Wink

kalidasa · 30/05/2014 14:40

I'm due Jan 28th as well, 2nd child. DS will be 2.1 when the baby is due.

SpandexBallet · 30/05/2014 15:21

Hi any chance I can join. Got a BFP this morning (well 6 so far as I didn't believe it!)
1st baby Edd 31st jan. I have been pg before but miscarried and it was almost 7 years ago so I don't remember a thing about this pregnancy lark!

So far just very sore boobs, was the reason I tested.
Hope you are all feeling ok!

Skye89 · 30/05/2014 16:40

Welcome spandexballet and congratulations Smile

We are edd buddies!

And thank you JacktheLab for putting stats together, Brew for your time.

jdr1234 · 30/05/2014 16:45

can I just ask and sorry to be a fear monger but if you were to miscarry would you know about it? i.e heavy bleeding and cramping even if you are only 5 weeks along... I find it strange you have no idea if there is anything there from the point you to the pregnancy test to the earliest scan you can have at 7 weeks! I am not going to keep doing pregnancy tests to confirm I am as that seems silly as I did 3 on the day I found out and got it confirmed by blood test the next day.
Having very few symptoms so don't feel very pregnant apart from sore boobs and a terrible thirst the whole time!

persepolis123 · 30/05/2014 16:59

Hi please can I join? I got my bfp today. EDD is the 7th of Feb I think.

In total shock as it was our first month ttc. We already have a DS who is 18 months old and took 11 months to conceive. He will be 2 years 3 months when the new baby arrives.

I’m still at work and can’t wait to get home to tell DP.

Memphisbelly · 30/05/2014 17:54

Jdr I don't think there is much point in keeping testing, my friend recently miscarried at 6 weeks, 2 weeks on her tests still show positive as hormones still high. She knew she miscarried, there was a lot of blood, try not to worry, I had not one bit of nausea with ds. The only symptom I had was my bras getting smaller, no ill effects at all. Im back today feeling totally normal no belly ache.

I went into Jojo Maman Babe today while waiting to meet my friend, looking at the tiny babygrows, cannot wait to start buying stuff, we are going Kiddicare for a carseat for ds tomorrow, going to have a nosy at tiny things Grin

Skye89 · 30/05/2014 17:57

Congrats persepolis :)

I'm not sure jdr1234 I think. Heavy bleeding with clots can be a sign but I've also read that bleeding doesn't always mean mc. I've also done a few reassurance pg tests since getting bfp but then remind myself that even if I were to mc the hcg can still be present and detected by htps.

It's all very worrying and it's just a waiting game. Hopefully someone else will be along with something more helpful soon!

mrshjb · 30/05/2014 18:10

Hi everyone, welcome and congratulations to the newbies :)

jdr1234 you will read things about 'missed miscarriages' which seems to be when people go for their scans and the baby stopped developing without them realising, but I don't think it's any where near as common as the internet would have you believe. Like others have said bleeding and cramping usually isn't a good sign but I know people who have had bright red blood and gone on to have healthy babies so unfortunately you just don't know. It's such a worrying time isn't it, but I'm really trying to just hope for the best and think that worrying isn't good for you or the baby :)

I had a quick look at baby stuff in Tesco today as I was passing through. Can't actually wait to be able to buy things! Been feeling a bit queasy today, slightly dizzy and boobs are definitely getting more sore. Wondering if this is the start of it!!

MrsCK · 30/05/2014 18:45

Ooh can I join? EDD is 28th Jan ish too...I'm over on the January bus too (hoping that's allowed!)

mrshjb · 30/05/2014 18:46

Ooh 28th Jan is a popular date isn't it! Are you formerly Christmas Kate?!

MrsCK · 30/05/2014 18:48

That's me!!

kalidasa · 30/05/2014 18:51

I had two v. early losses before DS - super early though, 4.5 and 5 weeks or thereabouts. They were both just like a period really. One of them was noticeably heavier and more painful than a normal period, the other one was actually a bit light than normal (for me). At that v. early point the tests went negative pretty much immediately but in both cases they hadn't been very strong positives anyway so presumably never really got going. Pregnancy symptoms disappeared pretty much as soon as the bleeding started. memphis I'm quite surprised your friend is still testing positive if she was that early on. Has she had a scan?

Yes I think mrshjb is right that missed mcs are so dreadful, but not that common. One of my sisters has had two, but she has a clotting issue which I think contributed to it.

MrsCK · 30/05/2014 18:52

mrsh it's my first too...have you had many symptoms? I'm very queasy and can't stop sleeping!

Memphisbelly · 30/05/2014 19:16

Kalidasa yes she has, she had blood tests and the levels dropped but not low enough to get a neg test. She bled a huge amount though, had to be put on a drip overnight.
I think the best thing we can do is just stay positive. My big fear is we have waited so long for this one I worry if it doesn't stick it will be another two years.

Dh is worrying as we are on holiday next week. We have booked activities and he is saying he wants me to re think going on them.

MrsCK · 30/05/2014 19:57

Is it normal to be a complete blubbering wreck after tonight's eastenders?!

Memphisbelly · 30/05/2014 20:12

MrsCK I don't watch it but when pg before I cried so much at Nanny Mcphee I couldn't leave the cinema....which has surely got to be worse than crying at eastenders Grin
