Hi all. Tired here too, dds just set up campsite in our living room and I took the chance to pretend to have a nap with them! Nice to lie down!! Jdr hope your flight goes ok. I have found having something like a bag of skittles/mints/haribo to much on periodically helps or pretzels something like that, not eating a lot but just something every now and then to keep nausea at bay. Also am still drinking litres and litres, diluting juice esp orange is good! And if you can sleep on planes that would pass some time! Cactus hope the scan goes well today! Fingers crossed for you.
Had booking appointment the other day, dh has never come to any midwife appointments with me, just the scans which has been fine with me. Am excited now about the whole prospect of no 3 but trying not to get ahead of myself! Smile especially seeing as only 8.5 weeks in...

BanglesSpangles · 03/07/2014 16:55

Goodness me, is bloody love a power nap right about now. Not sure it's anything to do with babies- I never need much of an excuse for a snooze!

Good luck with the scan cactus- sure everything will be dandy

Memphisbelly · 03/07/2014 16:57

Cactus hope all goes well keep us posted.

Jdr ouch to flight but have a great break.

Been at work and im shattered just lying on bed for 10 before ds comes home. Dh is home tonight and I thought I better cook a proper meal as he is having a terrible time at work but I confess I bought ready done mash, never bought it before but im too tired to stand and peel a load of spuds.

freneticfox · 03/07/2014 18:08

Hope scan went ok cactus, thinking of you!

First day off work for two weeks and already feeling the benefit; not stressing over work-related things has proven to be a godsend, so much more relaxed already!

TheGrinchWearsStripes · 03/07/2014 18:09

Hello, this thread moves briskly! I too am shattered at the moment, can't go home from work for another two hours!! I will be sleepwalking by then.
How did your scan go, cactus?
jdr, you are brave doing that flight! Maybe take lots of snacks with you so you can plough your way steadily through them? Does sucking something help at all? (My current obsession is Werthers...)
I still am not believing that I actually am pg, having spent 6 weeks utterly convinced that I wasn't. So I caved today and bought a digital test so I could just see the word, not just a line. And yep, unless the test has honesty issues, I definitely am! I won't believe it until the scan though. Have been referred to a preeclampsia specialist because of last time, and will have an early scan.
Memphis, does readymade mash taste ok?

Memphisbelly · 03/07/2014 18:37

Thegrinch dh still isn't home so I haven't tried it! Its m&s so surely it can't be horrid, I am such a slattern.....but 10 days ago I couldn't open the fridge so it is an improvement I suppose, just want him home so I can eat, bath then go to bed!

Memphisbelly · 03/07/2014 19:34

Thegrinch....update it was ok actually, not as nice as proper mash but I would buy it again. Can see me being 8 months pregnant and serving it on xmas day!

JacktheLab · 03/07/2014 20:02

Cactus, how did you scan go? Hope you are feeling reassured now?

Anyone else got hayfever, I'm feeling rotten with it, my eyes have actually swollen up so badly I look like I have been punched :(

On the plus side, I have oven chips in the oven ;)

cactusnic · 03/07/2014 20:09

Thank you all - your thoughts are very much appreciated.

Scan - well, we saw a heartbeat! Looks like i'm only between 7-8 weeks though, rather than the 9+3 that LMP indicated. Not hugely surprising, as my periods were so irregular, but i'll admit to being a bit disappointed, that i'm not closer to being out of "the danger zone" - and closer to feeling better!

As it was so unclear though, the company have offered to rescan (free) in 2 weeks time, which i think we might go for, even though its only a few days before my NHS dating scan.

Memphisbelly · 03/07/2014 20:22

Cactus this is great, positive news, bit annoying about dates though, and nice they offered a free re scan

bellaboo88 · 03/07/2014 20:24

Solo jealous of you all talking about food!

Great news cactus! I was put back about 2 weeks at epu but god only knows, might have a growth spurt yet.

Sick as a dog, threw up twice at work. Passed it off as side effect from new tablets but my cover will be blown soon & I'll have to tell the boss :-(

Memphis at what point did u feel better? I'm in the can't cook stage xx

Memphisbelly · 03/07/2014 20:31

10 weeks bella, still slow and steady when I eat but getting there.

freneticfox · 03/07/2014 20:38

Memphis I honestly find it so encouraging that you started the upward swing at 10w, it's nice there's hope.

I was at work yesterday morning when one of my colleagues said "Oh you're only 8 weeks... wow, you've got at least another 10 weeks of feeling like crap then!". Yeeeaahhh. Thanks. So glad to be signed off for now!

By the time I go back I'll be in week 11, so hopefully things will be a little less ropey.

freneticfox · 03/07/2014 20:39

bella how many weeks are you?

bellaboo88 · 03/07/2014 20:42

7weeks by scan wages ago or 8w4 by Lmp xx

freneticfox · 03/07/2014 20:44

We're almost identical by LMP, 8+3 for me, although early scan last week put me at 6w.

Got a private scan tomorrow, hoping it will at the very least put me somewhere in the middle!

Memphisbelly · 03/07/2014 20:49

Frenetic I was shocked to improve this early but 18 weeks is them trying to scare you, people have nothing nice to say to pregnant women at times.
I did bloom with ds, my nails had to be cut at the end as I was scared of scratching baby, they were longer and stronger than ever before, my hair was mega thick and glossy and I had lovely skin, so much hair fell out after though (which is normal) that it blocked our pipes under the bath! It will come to us all I am sure, even if right now a lot of us are feeling rubbish.
I have just gone through my wardrobe trying to find something to cover my bump for ds's party but I have nothing, what do I wear.... It needs to be hidden and by the afternoon it seems to pop even more

cactusnic · 03/07/2014 21:41

frenetic, there's a very good chance you'll start to feel much better well before 18 weeks. From around 10-12 weeks, as the placenta starts to take over, the hormone levels change a bit, and nausea often eases off hugely.

Yay so just as I was asking you all if I should contact my doc re appointment, got a letter today confirming 5th August scan and my booking apt. 5th August seems so far away though!
I actually braved a (very basic level) tennis lesson this evening, quite proud that I had the energy! Luckily no nausea for me yet...

freneticfox · 03/07/2014 23:46

cactus I sure hope so. You can set your watch by my nausea. I feel fine all day, then about 5pm I start feeling a little worn out. By 8pm my stomach is churning. By 11pm I'm in tears with extreme nausea. I take cyclizine so I assume I'd be worse off without, but I'm getting so fed up with the same ritual every day.

LittleMissSunshine33 · 04/07/2014 07:01

Jack - I have hay fever it's awful at the moment! Keep waking up in the night to blow my nose. Are you taking anything for it? I've got meetings all day I'm going to look lovely sniffing with red eyes and black bags! Smile

Morning everyone, haven't written on here in ages so just thought I'd check in. I'm 10+2 by my calculations and 11+2 by LMP so my scan is next week on what they think is exactly 12 weeks. Can't actually wait for the scan and to be momentarily out of limbo land!

Currently signed off work because I've been so exhausted, nauseous and had a very upset stomach. Oh and pretty bad heart palpitations. On the plus side my skin is stating to clear up so I'm hoping that means I'm on the way up!

Hope you're all well :)

bellaboo88 · 04/07/2014 09:23

Little miss, my doc give me phenergan which is for travel sickness/sedation/hay fever/rashes/hives so might be a safe one for u? U have to b careful with hay fever meds xx
