16th July, cannot wait. It is getting hard to hide it now. I feel better when I rest so rest up and take it easy!

Hello everyone, new to this! (Posting and pregnancy) Can I join, I'm (allegedly) due 15th Feb so 7 weeks - tho would definitely like confirmation that there is something in there! :-) No contact from doc re 1st midwife appointment tho it has been 2 weeks since I went to see her, is that normal?

Memphisbelly · 02/07/2014 21:47

Smiphi congrats and welcome! All areas are different I checked in with doc then had to make booking in app myself.

freneticfox · 02/07/2014 21:51

Memphis, that's not long at all! My dating scan is 6th August, feels like a lifetime away, going to be a long few weeks I feel!

fluffymouse · 02/07/2014 21:53

Welcome smiphi. If you haven't heard anything I would recommend contacting the hospital. You can usually self refer.

GeekyHybrid · 02/07/2014 22:46

Hi smiphi, worth chasing. I was told "they'll be in touch" but omitted to tell me I needed to book at reception for practice midwife. When I chased was sorted by GP receptionist in no time but wish I hadn't waited worried so long!

cactusnic · 02/07/2014 23:07

My scan is with this company www.babyscanning.co.uk/ so unfortunately only helpful for those in Scotland. I was amazed it was so cheap as i was expecting £90-100, which was pretty much what other companies were charging locally.

Happilymarried155 · 03/07/2014 07:11

Hi,
Can I join? I've been watching this thread too scared to join as have had a previous mc and was really scared. This is an ivf pregnancy so I had an early scan at 7 + 2 and unlike last time I saw an amazing little heartbeat!!! I was so worried but seeing the little bean has really put my mind at rest! We even got to hear the heartbeat!!! Amazing!

So now I'm finally feeling brave enough to register at the midwife and join a thread. I know I'm not completely out of the danger zone yet but I read after seeing a heartbeat the chances of a successful pregnancy are very high so I'm focusing on that :)

Hope your all getting on ok x

Morning all
As luck would have it I'm going to Scotland next week for work... Wonder if anyone would notice if I slipped off for a bargain scan! Seriously though, I'm in two minds about it. Telling myself I'm being silly for wanting to fork out the cash when I'll get my lovely free nhs scan in a few weeks versus that feeling of just wanting to know NOW that everything's ok!

I went down the self referral route- the earliest appointment my gp could give me wasnt for another two weeks and the online self referral form was so easy- I got booking in and scan dates in a letter three days after I filled it out -and the booking in app is a day earlier than I would have been seeing my gp!

Talking of booking in, is/did anyone's other half go with you? I know its meant to be a bit of a boring anti climax but we figure this is his baby too so he should have to sit through the boring bits as well, at least for the first appointment!

Happilymarried155 · 03/07/2014 08:26

bangles when is your scan booked for?

Seeing everything was ok was really amazing, made it seem like it's really happening! ??

BanglesSpangles · 03/07/2014 08:27

And just because one message is never enough from me, welcome happilymarried! Great to have you on board :)

BanglesSpangles · 03/07/2014 08:28

5th August- by my calculations, that'll be 11+6- seems like a very long way away still!

BanglesSpangles · 03/07/2014 08:32

Ha, and I've managed to post my epic message three times- what is wrong with me? !

SkyBlueSky · 03/07/2014 09:02

Marking place! DC2 due 26th Jan, but guessing he/she will be a Feb baby. 2 months in and approx. 0.5 gallons of chocolate milk consumed already.

donkir · 03/07/2014 09:28

Bangles we had booking in app at home and I made oh be there. Mainly because they asked so many questions about family health and I wouldn't have had a clue about his side and wouldn't have remembered even if he'd told me. The only other app he'll come to are the scans and possibly my first consultant app.

JacktheLab · 03/07/2014 10:33

Morning all, bangles I didn't make dh come to either booking in appointment, just the scans, mainly so he'd be there incase something was wrong.

If you have time def go for a scan whilst you are up north Wink

Memphisbelly · 03/07/2014 10:36

bangles no dh here it is literally filling out loads of info, blood test and test urine. he came to the first one to hear heartbeat but wont this time.

I have an achy belly which google informs me is everything stretching

BanglesSpangles · 03/07/2014 12:58

Haha, looks like I'm in the minority then! (Apart from donkir!)

freneticfox · 03/07/2014 13:09

Afternoon all. SO tired today, I keep dozing off at random intervals. Very glad to be off work!

jdr1234 · 03/07/2014 13:55

Hi All
So I am just over 10 weeks and had no nausea until around 4 days ago and now it is here with a bang, not actually being sick but if I don't eat every half hr or so I feel horrendous, I thought I had escaped it as heard it normally hits by 8 weeks.
Anyway got a 11 hr flight tomorrow to LA so if anyone has any tips to make me feel better would be very much appreciated.
I had my booking in yesterday, husband came as hospital is only round the corner from his office so very easy for him but he certainly wasn't really needed. Got my scan for 21st July which is the day after I get back from America so looking forward to having two weeks without trying to avoid the pregnancy subject then coming back and being able to (everything being ok) tell everyone!

hanflan · 03/07/2014 14:36

Hi all, sorry I've been a bit awol on this thread! Will be better :)
I am now 7+1. Still no symptoms really apart from sore boobs! I didn't eat breakfast yesterday and felt really sick for the whole morning, but today felt much better, so I guess I'm avoiding the ms as long as I eat regularly!
Still massively paranoid that something is wrong. So tempted to book an early scan but really don't have the money at the moment. The ones round here are all around 100 pounds and DH says that's ridiculous, and it's fine to wait until the 12 week scan. Arrghhhh that's so far away! haha

cactusnic · 03/07/2014 14:44

Scan later today - i'm in a mess, so bloody terrified. I know i was worried last time, but it wasn't this bad.

Really really struggling with exhaustion too - but not sleeping properly at night.
