Fluffy how much would a 3d scan be in London? I am in the Midlands and paid £90 for a 3d one with dvd and 12 pics.

LittleMissSunshine33 · 01/07/2014 21:39

Ive booked my early scan for Saturday and it's £60 I think the 3D scan is double that! I'm a little nervous about mine! Blush

Tori and littlemiss I am sure they will be fine. When I had mine the screen was the other way, as soon as she saw it she said so I don't worry here is a quick look, showed me the heartbeat then went on to do measurements so I wasn't worrying while she did all of them.
I have been looking at baby names tonight (dh is away and I am bored) forgot how hard it is to pick a name!

blankfornames · 01/07/2014 23:03

ToriB, I'm the same as you except I'm one week behind. I'm going for a private scan this day week making me 7+5. Bar having sore boobs & being really tired, I've haven't had any other symptoms either. I'm sure people would view us as lucky but would be nice to have some reassurance symptoms also! Really keen to know what you see in your scan. Best of luck!Wink

cactusnic · 01/07/2014 23:14

I've got an early scan booked for Thursday - only £40, which i was so surprised by! (Other places in the city are closer to £100, but i still get an ok feeling about this place).

I swing between wondering if i am still pregnant, or if i'm actually a month further along than i think!

LittleMissSunshine33 · 02/07/2014 06:35

Cactus it seems that others who have had a scan their measurements have put them back in weeks so it would be a nice surprise to be more although my stomach is big so I am hoping to be more as well ... Or twins?!

Memphis how far was you when you had your scan?

SpandexBallet · 02/07/2014 07:42

I think I'm the only one gaining weight. I'm quite a small person 5"3 and was 57kg already 59kg Sad
I think it's all in my boobs because they've grown a whole cup size and I look quite silly.

Also I have a works black tie event on Saturday. Couldn't afford a new dress so I've borrowed one to try and hold the boobs in. Already planning on pretending to drink when I'm really not

Memphisbelly · 02/07/2014 08:11

Littlemiss I was 7+2 it was a kidney bean with a heartbeat. Grin

BanglesSpangles · 02/07/2014 08:22

Morning all, and

BanglesSpangles · 02/07/2014 08:26

Bugger arsing buggering phone- how does it keep doing that!

As I was saying... Welcome new peeps.

I had a sneaky look locally at early scans and could only find the honkingly expensive ones at mothercare world- might have to look a bit further afield for one of the mythical £40 jobbies - cactus, that sounds amazingly good value

fluffymouse · 02/07/2014 11:39

memphis a quick Google shows one for 220 on Harley st.

cactus where are you having a scan so cheaply? It nearly worth taking the train from London for that price! Everywhere I've looked is at least 100.

I've had to miss work again due to the sickness. I'm not vomiting but finding it really hard to function Sad

madeuplovesong44 · 02/07/2014 17:46

Just had my booking in appt @ 9 weeks but as I am having twins that is the first and last time I will see the midwife till after they are born. I'm a bit sad about that as she has been my midwife previously and I don't think you get the close relationship with consultant led care in a hospital but I'd be happy to be proved wrong! One plus is I get scanned every 2 weeks which is exciting. I just hope the constant scanning doesn't pose a risk to the babies. Will be reading up on it! Still feeling generally rotten and puking several times a day but trying to hold on to the fact it will pass. Hope everyone is doing OK.

Memphisbelly · 02/07/2014 18:33

Fluffy whoa that is steep, ours is in a private little clinic it has leather sofas and a massive tv on the wall with images on so you can take whole family if you want to!

Memphisbelly · 02/07/2014 18:36

Madeuplovesong I totally loved my consultant last time, I saw him every month and he was at the birth, he was tons better than my midwife at the doctors surgery who I also continues to see. The thing I liked was the mw in the surgery isn't there for the birth but the consultant was, put my mind totally at ease.

Ds said the cutest thing today he was looking at a baby in the queue in the supermarket and he said 'I wish we can have a baby at our house it will make happy and I will love and cuddle it' made my heart melt eventhough my nephews baby he is too scared to hold!

GeekyHybrid · 02/07/2014 20:03

I finally got around to chasing up my doctors surgery regarding referral to ante-natal e.g. I hadn't heard anything. Turns out the locum is inept. Yes he sent the referral but didn't bother telling me that I also needed to book in with the surgeries own midwife! Ante-natal is only the scan part. Aagh. Now got a booking in appointment with the midwife for 16th July which happens to be my mum's birthday.

It still doesn't feel like it's happening yet. At least I'm back to vaguely functioning which is useful as there's now only 4.5 weeks to the wedding and really haven't got a lot done the last few weeks!

Welcome to all the newbies and enjoy those early scans those of you having them, xx

freneticfox · 02/07/2014 20:20

Evenin' all. Glad to see I'm not the only one booking an early private scan! Mine's Friday around 1pm, I'll be 8+3. It's 90% reassurance (spotting and cramping this week) and 10% for my own peace of mind that there's actually something in there!

I had a scan a week ago to rule out an ectopic pregnancy and they saw heartbeat but said I was only 5w - I was a bit dejected I was so early, especially since I'd actually be closer to 9w by LMP.

Anyone else already feeling really fed up of the first trimester?!

freneticfox · 02/07/2014 20:22

madeup - my best friend had a consultant led team with her DD, she said their care was flawless; I'm also on consultant-led, but I'm having a mixture of appointments with a mw and consultant.

donkir · 02/07/2014 20:26

I'm also being consultant led although not seeing consultant until after scan ( I guess they need to know something there) not sure how many times I'll have to see them tho as didn't see one for 1st baby.

Memphisbelly · 02/07/2014 20:31

Frenetic I am fed up of being pregnant at the moment, tired, bloated and grumpy with no energy and greasy hair.... Plus not many people to moan about it to. Roll on christmas!

freneticfox · 02/07/2014 20:33

I'm just looking forward to having a bump and looking pregnant as opposed to bloated/spotty/sweaty ;)

Memphisbelly · 02/07/2014 20:36

Yes I totally agree, I look pregnant now but its mainly bloating, now I am eating again I feel so uncomfortable after eating I feel 8 months pregnant!

freneticfox · 02/07/2014 20:42

I've just been signed off work for a week, followed by a week's holiday; by the time I go back I'll be nearly 11w... I should feel a BIT better by then, right?!

Memphisbelly · 02/07/2014 21:07

I am 11 now and feel loads better than I did....just not quite 'me' yet

freneticfox · 02/07/2014 21:20

There is hope! I have anti-emetics and been coerced into resting by DH and GP. I'm going to give myself cabin fever, I'm rubbish at doing nothing; though I'm more likely to rest up if there's a rewarding upward trend at the end of it!

You must have your 12w scan coming up?
