So sorry for you, petal

Jack,Littlemiss- that is definitely reassuring! You hear so many stories of people having an absolutely hideous time that I was really starting to feel like I'd made the whole thing up! And excellent work, little miss on the epic roll call- there's bloody loads of us!

Memphisbelly · 30/06/2014 09:04

looking at it us due at end of Jan aren't on the updated list I will have to get laptop out later and add myself

Memphisbelly · 30/06/2014 18:16

Another day here of being able to do stuff and not feel sick. Things are on the up, I managed a bit of scampi at lunch and have got pasta bake and garlic bread for tea, hope I can manage it.

fluffymouse · 30/06/2014 19:41

Felt so sick today at work, I was retching throughout the morning. It didn't help that I had to spend most of the time on my feet.

If I can't make it in due to sickness (and I'm more inclined not to go in as they were so unsympathetic today) should I tell them I'm pregnant? Work is generally very unsupportive.

LittleMissSunshine33 · 30/06/2014 20:00

Ive updated it Memphis sorry don't know what happened to the first lot!

Fluffy just go off sick or see your doctors for a note if they are unsympathetic they cant do much against a doctors note. Plus sod them you've got more important things in your life now! Smile

bellaboo88 · 30/06/2014 20:11

Been to docs, she give me Phenegan for my nausea/sickness (nice to get free prescription)

Feeling better today tho, but deffo taking them from now on, I can't handle work feeling like this!

Xx

fluffymouse · 30/06/2014 21:24

I'm pretty reluctant to take medication as I'm not vomiting, so reall it isn't necessary. I am finding it hard to function though and work will probably pressure me to get medicated.

Littlemiss I don't know how honest I should be, ie say I'm feeling nauseous, or nausea due to pregnancy?

Bella are you feeling better?

cactusnic · 30/06/2014 21:32

All i could face for dinner (at 8.30pm) was bread and butter. The bread was mould - i cried. Blush

Feeling pretty low now - i had my booking appt today, and it turns out i shouldn't have been seen by the community midwives at all, as i'm too high-risk. All my appts will be at the hospital (which will be nightmare in itself given the clinic times and school runs!). Just feeling a bit like things are running away and i'm going to lose choice and be a number rather than a person.

LabMonkey · 30/06/2014 21:42

Thanks for the book tips Addicted will definitely visit the library after my scan.

Weirdly my DD is not a fan of dolls so I think the baby will have to stick to bringing her a big box of Lego!

I've been given a scan date on a Friday, which is the one week day I'm at home with DD, so she might have to come with me since we have no family nearby. Our midwife team also now only do Friday appointments so she's coming to those too. Don't think it'll stay a secret for long!

bellaboo88 · 30/06/2014 22:21

Fluffy, I had friends around so put off taking them until I was hugging my beautiful Belfast sink praying I wouldn't mess it up (they had moved upstairs to dhs games room) so I couldn't hug the toilet.

Took it, had a nice bath & snacked since. He warned me(chemist) that is b drowsy n he wasn't kidding but its a nice calm feeling. They use these to sedate people too. I like so far xx

Memphisbelly · 01/07/2014 08:48

I am on cyclazine they don't make me drowsy, thankfully coming out of the tired stage now. They are amazing though the constant feeling sick was making me feel terrible but now I am back at work and even cooked yesterday!

donkir · 01/07/2014 09:16

Brilliant think I have piles (sorry tmi) never had it before so I'm just presuming. Just phoned doctors who can't get me in all week and suggested I talk to a pharmacist which usually I would as hate doctors. I'd really like them double checked by the doctor though. And they wonder why ppl end up in a&e with minor ailments.

bellaboo88 · 01/07/2014 09:42

That's terrible donkir, keep calling asking for a cancellation...I'm sure my docs hold a few appointments back just in case. I find preggo hormones work well too....or at least they do on the fella!

Fan nights sleep with my anti sickness but still can't face breakfast so just had biscuits xx

fluffymouse · 01/07/2014 12:02

I'm not sure if I'm going to become fat or skinny with the 'morning' sickness. I don't feel like eating most of the time, but when I do its high fat food. I can't stomach cooking right now, so I've been having rubbish from the freezer.

Due to work not letting me have a brake if I feel sick I'm less inclined to go in. It's very short sighted of them too, as treating employees like crap won't bring out the best in productivity.

freneticfox · 01/07/2014 13:20

Memphis I've been moved onto Cyclizine, because I wasn't getting much in the way of results from Prochlaperazine (sp?). So far so good. I haven't been sick luckily, but the constant gnawing nausea/retching at the sight of food was really starting to take its toll.

I just really need a good night's sleep, my nausea is by far at its worst at night

TheGrinchWearsStripes · 01/07/2014 14:07

Hello all, may I come very very late to the party? I am 6+3 but only just got a BFP, as I didn't believe I could possibly be pregnant until then! Well, I am 44, which I am sure makes me the grandmother of this thread. (I have actually been mistaken for the 'nana' of my DS, who was born when I was 42). Also I tested with two dud tests, and didn't realise until I saw what they should have looked like with a neg reading, and they just didn't. So went and bought another, and hey presto.

I am due around 20 Feb, but will probably be early, as due to preeclampsia last time it is unlikely that I will make full term. Hence I thought this thread would be better than the March one.

I shall have a proper read of the whole thread Smile

bellaboo88 · 01/07/2014 14:18

Welcome Grinch! Was you TTC? I couldn't have waited so long before testing!

Spoke too soon, was pukey again. I wanted to take tablets after tea as they made me super drowsy but looks like I'll be trying them tomorrow all day :-(

I'm so so hungry but I just can't eat :-( I've lost over 5lbs. Sorry for my moans ladies I'm just fed up :-( xx

TheGrinchWearsStripes · 01/07/2014 14:23

Hello bella yes! it was the first month we were trying! One of the reasons I really didn't believe I could be pg - it's supposed to take much longer at this age. It was the constant nausea (and the suddenly ill-fitting bras) that gave the game away eventually. I had just thought I was probably menopausal!

Sorry to hear about all the ms. So far I have just had the nausea lapping at the back of my teeth all the time, but no actual sickness. Didn't have anything much with DS, so this is new.

suzimagoozi · 01/07/2014 15:06

Not sure if this is the right thread for me?? BFP last week after noticing weight gain but no way to date as no LMP (none since coming off pill in Juy 2013!). Was seeing GP to investigate fertility but no need for that now :) First scan booked for 23 July but even that's just a guess by the hosp. First timer freaking out here! Anybody else in my position not knowing dates??

fluffymouse · 01/07/2014 16:16

Welcome grinch and Suzie.

Suzie I didn't know dates first time (was on pill so no periods), I had a dating scan at the epu. If you cannot get a referral, I would suggest an early dating scan privately as they become less accurate further on into the pregnancy.

suzimagoozi · 01/07/2014 17:29

Thanks fluffymouse! Good advice re getting a private scan if I can't move it earlier. I was worried that leaving it until 23 July might be too late for the Nuchal translucency test if I'm further along than the hospital expected. GP said she couldn't feel my womb today when feeling my tummy so she said 1st Tri still. No idea how much a private scan will cost - anyone have any ideas?

Memphisbelly · 01/07/2014 17:39

Welcome suzi and grinch.

Bella ah I am the same I don't know how much I have lost, my legs have never been so thin but this makes my belly and boobs look even more huge. Past two days I have had an appitite but I then feel totally bloated or starving no happy medium.

Been to ds's nursery party today they had a BBQ it was hard not to heave but it wasn't too bad they don't serve beef there and I am sure it is beef that honks the most on a bbq.

TheGrinchWearsStripes · 01/07/2014 17:41

Suzi I had one last time, it was abut £90. On Harley St too!

Memphisbelly · 01/07/2014 18:05

Ooh thats a good price I think, kiddicare do them now but they are quite expensive.
I will have a 3d one at 25 weeks instead, we had one last time and loved it thinking we will only do it once and down we are having another dh said we can't have a 3d scan for one and not the other Grin

fluffymouse · 01/07/2014 18:49

Suzi the fetal medicine centre on Harley street charge £100, and that is probably the most expensive place to have it done. It's an early scan so much cheaper than a 3d scan etc.
