Also loving Dolly Parton at glasto too!

freneticfox · 29/06/2014 18:37

memphis - I hope your body adapts ok - it feels a bit like waiting for a lottery, doesn't it? I just don't know what to expect on a daily basis.

I'm envious of Dolly's figure - she's 68 bloody years old!!!

LittleMissSunshine33 · 29/06/2014 18:48

Bangles hope you had a nice time away! I have got a sniffly nose too but I think that's helping keep away the MS fingersX!

Welcome newbies!

cactusnic · 29/06/2014 19:21

Memphis - fingers crossed that pregnancy keeps you symptom-free! Not sure what it is you've "got", but i know that many conditions go into remission in pregnancy. I'm curious how i go, but my inflammatory markers etc are often ok even when i'm clearly not, so medically speaking, i don't know if a difference will show, even if its obvious to me. I'm not due to see my rheum till November, but GP is pushing for an earlier appt for me - i spoke to them last week though, so unsure if they're using that in lieu of an actually appt. Totally get you on paracetamol doing diddly squat though.

Whilst i wouldn't wish it on anyone, its "nice" to have others here with chronic conditions - feels far less alone, especially when its so often thought that to be preg, you should be fit, healthy, on no meds, and nothing wrong with you!

Ladies I have tried to update the stats list!

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/antenatal_clubs/2106926-February-2015-stats-list?msgid=47982030#47982030

There are loads of us now! Not sure if all are still here don't recognise some names but have updated it the best I can, it took a little longer than expected as we seem to chat a lot Wink x

Memphisbelly · 29/06/2014 19:48

I got my letter to see an obstetrics consultant in August then I will see them every month until the birth then I presume they call that consultant in when I start to push, they did last time, he ran in just before they pulled ds out then he visited me the next day to give ds a cuddle and a week later, I loved him! Sadly it is a different consultant this time.

thingsarelookingup · 29/06/2014 20:12

Hey all. I haven't been on much lately. The tiredness has truly struck here now and DS is going through a rubbish sleeping phase so last week I pretty much put him to bed and then went straight to bed myself most nights. Such a party animal I am.

Thanks for updating the stats little. It's a big job but nice to keep track of everyone. And welcome bear. Sorry to hear so many people are having a rough time. We ARE all nearing the second trimester and it WILL be better than this rubbish. Positive thinking and all that.

With all this talk of bras you have made me realise how glad I am I never went back to underwire bras after DS was born. Pre DS I wouldn't be without underwires for a bit of lift but now it is comfort all the way.

LabMonkey · 29/06/2014 20:44

Hi, Congrats to you all! My EDD is 18 Feb. My DD is 3 (just at the start of May) so I'm really worried about how she'll take the news. She's fine with little ones and babies generally but I think will be very jealous.

cactusnic · 29/06/2014 20:50

Is anyone else finding their brain has gone to mush already? I really didn't expect pregnahncy brain to kick in this early! I've no idea whether its hormones or exhaustion though - i'm really struggling to sleep, between waking with anxiety or nausea or needing to pee.

Also struggling a bit - i go from completely bloated and full to ravenously hungry in about 5 mins, but really can't face eating. DPs dad is coming over for dinner on Tuesday, and i am dreading the smell of a roast dinner cooking, and then the awkward questions about why i'm not eating - we've not told him yet as there's a fair amount of back story - DP is only recently in touch with him after not seeing him for over 20 years. This could be "fun"!

JacktheLab · 29/06/2014 20:50

Hi all

back from my weekend away, the boys are still alive, hurrah!

Little thanks for updating the stats it is a big job, but it's nice to see everyone there :)

Bangles I don't have much in the way of symptoms either, but there's not much that I think I can do until I get my scan, not very good at waiting for things either!!!

Hope everyone has a good Sunday evening and much love for everyone feeling pants, second trimester will be here soon!!!

AddictedToRadley · 29/06/2014 21:06

LabMonkey if you put a positive spin on it and tell your DD that she's going to be a big sister and how exciting it'll be. You can even throw in the odd sweetener like 'You'll be able to boss the baby about' etc There are lots of books you can get at the library about a new baby. I think a couple to mention are 'Sophie's baby' and 'A new baby'. Not sure if those names are accurate but just ask the librarian and there should be quite a selection. Hopefully by the time baby is here she will be excited and not jealous. Once baby arrives make sure that baby is in the cot, not in your arms, when DD first visits and have a gift from baby for DD (a fab doll would be a great idea so she can be a mummy too). Also, try to involve her as much as possible with 'jobs' ie pass a nappy, help hold baby, help dress baby etc. If she is involved all the way it won't be too much of a trauma.

Little Thanks for the list update. I have updated my details but have copied it from another page so not sure if there's tmi on there - feel free to alter if needs be :)

GeekyHybrid · 29/06/2014 21:29

Thank you littlemiss for the stats. There are a lot of us! Sorry to everyone else feeling blur, really really want this phase to be over for us. Tiredness is the over-riding feeling now with a background of low level nausea, constipation and an acne outbreak that most teenagers would consider severe :-( I really can't wait until we all start feeling better, 12 week scans are done and we can actually get properly excited. Thinking of you all as we battle another week.

Petal7 · 29/06/2014 21:42

Sorry to say, I am out. Having a miscarriage/possible self resolving pregnancy of unknown location. So sad.
Hope all of your pregnancies go well

Sad news Petal be kind to yourself x

SaltySeaBird · 30/06/2014 07:02

Sorry to hear your news Petal.

Can I join the rest of you? EDD 12 February with DC#2. Have had an early scan and all looked well, little heartbeat flickering away.

My biggest anxiety at the moment is telling work as I have only been there a few months. It's an amazing job and not really the sort of place that will appreciate me taking maternity leave (this pregnancy wasn't really planned).

LittleMissSunshine33 · 30/06/2014 07:04

So sorry Petal :( take time to grieve and talk to OH it's a horribly sad time ((big hugs))

Petal7 · 30/06/2014 07:39

Thank you all for your kind words. They help a lot.especially as most people in rl didnt know I was even pregnant. I am blessed with 3 wonderful dc (and a lovely dh). This is my third loss and it hurts.

Purpletoes · 30/06/2014 08:09

So sorry petal I had a mc at 10 weeks before I had my ds. It's horrible take time to grieve and take care of yourself. ThanksBrewSad
