Evening all- I went for scan today, I thought I was 7 +1 but when they did the us the fetal pole is only measuring 6+1. Everything looked fine though didn't hear the heart beat but doc said without doing an internal you wouldn't but I came away feeling nervous and disappointed, has anyone else had a scan at 6 weeks and if so what did they see?

Memphisbelly · 12/06/2014 22:26

I had one at 6 weeks last time and just saw what looked like a kidney bean, no heartbeat then either are they rescanning next week?

jdr1234 · 12/06/2014 22:36

They scheduled me in for 2 weeks time as they said would see a lot more...I sound ungrateful cos I know what I saw is all a good sign but so frustrating to of moved back a week!

Memphisbelly · 12/06/2014 22:47

I totally see your frustration. The mw today asked what date of last period was and I got my disry out to get exact date and she said oh it doesn't matter because we go by size when scanning and not date, really annoyed me as why ask how long cycle is and when last period was if you won't go by it anyway.
I understand the not wanting to sound ungrateful as I have ttc for 2 years and now feel rotten, I said to dh tonight how can I cope letting house go to pot if I carry on feeling rough..... Felt like I was moaning eventhough I wanted this so badly!

jdr1234 · 12/06/2014 22:53

How far along are you Memphis?

Memphisbelly · 12/06/2014 23:02

7 weeks. Now I can't wait for my Monday scan to get them to tell me the date they think. We are rn telling inlaws.

SpandexBallet · 13/06/2014 06:42

Eek I've got another scan today to see if they can answer some questions. All I'm hoping to see is everything in the right place and hopefully some progress.
I'm really nervous though.
Half expecting them to say it's twins for some reason

JacktheLab · 13/06/2014 07:00

Morning all,

Hope everyone is well, my stupid body is waking me very early at the moment so been up since five, although my record is 3.30 am this week!

Spandex I've been having the oh my god what will we do if it's twins thoughts too, but I did the same thing last time too, so I guess it's normal :)

Good luck to everyone having scans in the next couple of days!

donkir · 13/06/2014 07:24

Good morning everyone. Well what a rubbish nights sleep (I even had fresh sheets to relax me)I think I was awake every few hours for no reason. Today will be a long day. Thank goodness it's my day off. Enjoy your day ladies.

VegasCupcpake6 · 13/06/2014 07:50

Hi everyone, would you mind if I joined?!
We got our bfp on Monday after 2.5 years of ttc! So excited and anxious all at once!
I'm worried as I haven't felt sick at all. Had a few other hits and bobs like extreme hunger ALL day! And a funny taste in my mouth. Oh and lots of farting! But worried that I haven't felt sick or any more tired than usual.
Think I'm around 6 weeks, a little bit harder to tell as I was quite irregular but we're thinking the EDD will be 3rd Feb.
Nice to meet you all!

donkir · 13/06/2014 08:29

Welcome Vegascupacake6 and congrats. I also have no sickness and this is normal for some people in trying to count my lucky stars I don't feel rough other than the bloating. I'm nearly 6 weeks and don't feel tired either.

Memphisbelly · 13/06/2014 09:17

I had no sickness at all last time but this time I am constanty gagging.
tomorrows wedding is a bbq as meal I am dreading it as smell of food sets me off

lawyeredout82 · 13/06/2014 09:54

I'm not feeling great either - especially with the train/tube commute.

It's really hot and the crowded tube makes me feel really nauseous. I guess it's too early to be wearing a baby on board badge?! Is anyone else thinking of getting one? I would be really nervous about bumping into someone I know whilst wearing one before the 12 week scan...

SpandexBallet · 13/06/2014 10:01

Well scan went all well. I'm slightly earlier then we first thought and only around 5.5 weeks. But I saw a heartbeat and it's definitely all in the right place so not ectopic. Still no coil so it's either gone wondering through my abdomen or fallen out Hmm
And definitely only one baby so a little relief there I guess

jdr1234 · 13/06/2014 10:34

spandex did you have an internal scan?

SpandexBallet · 13/06/2014 11:28

jdr yeah an internal one.
Had one last Friday due to coil panic and all they could see was fluid. And then today they saw the yolk sac and teeny weeny foetus and heartbeat.

It was really strange to imagine cos it's only a few multimeters in size

Memphisbelly · 13/06/2014 12:17

spandex thats great news that all is ok. what a relief!

SpandexBallet · 13/06/2014 12:40

Yeah I'm really happy it's all confirmed.

Now jut shitting myself that I'm actually having an unplanned baby.
Should be interesting Shock

MsFrazzles · 13/06/2014 13:19

Hi lawyeredout82, I'm a London commuter too (train from Herts + tube across London) and finding it quite hard going in the heat at the moment! I actually got a Baby on Board badge the other day (just asked at the ticket office) but am too scared to wear it in case anyone from work sees me! It's ironic that these early days are when we'll probably need it most (apart from when we're huge later on!)

lawyeredout82 · 13/06/2014 13:53

I am also Herts then tube...my DH saw me looking queasy this morning and has just ordered me one, think he feels it is one of the small things he can actually do to help. Though once it arrives, cue at least a week of me having it in my handbag, staring at it and then deciding not to wear it as I feel like I am a fraud!

hanflan · 13/06/2014 14:25

I feel very wary of using a baby on board badge before I have an obvious bump! I would be so scared that people (those who have no idea what it's like) would think I was milking it just to get a seat :(
Really, I am so shattered I could do with one now and there is not even the tiniest bump yet!

sarah9999 · 13/06/2014 17:36

Hi ladies, can I join?

My baby's due on 31st January. It's my second, my daughter is 2. Had a scan as my first pregnancy was ectopic - I saw a heartbeat and I think I'm about to vomit / fall asleep all the time, so that has to be a good sign, right?!

Hope you're all doing well!

Memphisbelly · 13/06/2014 18:55

Welcome Sarah.
I don't use the tube as I am in the midlands but as someone who doesn't I would thing the badge is for use before you have a bump because surely once you have a bump you wouldn't need a badge as the bump would be a telltale sign, I would wear the badge and cough while pointing to it to get the attention of someone to move Grin

Today my nausea only lasted until 1pm, I am finding marmite sandwiches are helping me, just had my first cuppa in 3 days! I got stomach pains from wearing jeans again as bloating is coming back so need to put those away for a bit.
I have been worrying about needing a good coat that will fit over bump come winter, I work outdoors and have to wear ski wear to keep remotely warm, never seen maternity ski wear though Grin

GeekyHybrid · 13/06/2014 19:05

Great news on the scan spandex. Is anyone else really really glad it's the weekend?! Just feeling nauseas all day is tiring, I hate to think about you poor guys who are actually being sick. And as for hanflan, frazzles and lawyeredout you really have my sympathy. I'm so looking forward to not having grin and bear the heat out there (normally work outdoors), I can hide in the house with a cool drink whenever I like instead :-D

ProudlymadeinSA · 13/06/2014 19:31

Jdr - I had internal scan at 6 weeks and only saw yolk sac. Gynae thought foetus was hiding behind sac, so I'm going back next week at 8 weeks for another. Sounds like you have nothing to worry about, though obviously that's easier said than done! I understand a lot of doctors won't even entertain the thought of doing a scan before 8 weeks because it can be so hard to see anything.

Went to gp today about relentless morning sickness and have been prescribed some drugs. Really hope they kick In soon. Current situation is unbearable. Had a huge cry last night with DH!
