The gardening/soil thing is due to cat faeces and toxoplasmosis. The advice is to always wear gardening gloves and wash your hands well.

My SIL has ALL my preggo books. I can't wait to get them back. I'm too tight to buy new ones!

Ah, I see. Well I love gardening but hate muddy hands so I always wear gloves. Will get myself a good waterproof pair and some anti-bac gel. Should be fine. Been reading up on heavy lifting with a (hopefully) imminent move. Looks like I'll be making tea and directing.

PolytheneGirl · 21/05/2014 21:35

Oh that's a shame Retro!

Wink let's pretend that this wasn't the plan all along!

MademoiselleG · 21/05/2014 22:11

Teehee, very clever Retro !

fancyacupoftea · 21/05/2014 22:12

See, I'm on the other side to you both on gardening. "No darling, I can't even get away with wearing gloves! Unfortunately I shall just have to lounge on the patio whilst you do the gardening. Oh and get me a cup of tea whilst you're at it".
Poor sod.

PolytheneGirl · 21/05/2014 22:40

My cat just farted and I was actually sick in my hands! I've had enough of this shit for one day! Good night Zzzz

I'm sorry Poly, that made me Grin not looking forward to the nausea. I loathe hangovers, the thought of feeling like that without the drinking part to enjoy does not appeal.

toots123 · 22/05/2014 06:44

Poly you poor thing!!!

Retro, how are you?

my cb digi has moved to 'pregnant 2-3'. I know its still so early but im so happy! Telling my parents tomorrow. Eeek!

RetroHippy · 22/05/2014 07:00

Hi toots, I'm really good thanks. Woke up at 4am today desperate to pee and starving with hugely painful boobs. Biscuits by the bed will be happening soon Wink DH has pointed out that while the SYMPTOMS are still exciting now, they'll wear off soon enough Grin

I've not peed on any more digis, but had a clear line every day for nearly a week on some test or another. I've got three more, then I might stop peeing!

I'm telling my mum tomorrow. It's her birthday, so will be a fun day to tell her! I'm not beyond sending a 'Happy Birthday Grandma' card, but I want to skype and see her face.

What SYMPTOMS do you have so far? Think you're a few days further along than me?

fancyacupoftea · 22/05/2014 07:08

I'm really sorry I laughed so heartily at your misfortune Poly!!

fancyacupoftea · 22/05/2014 07:09

Crap, I hope people read what you wrote and don't just think I'm a general cow

toots123 · 22/05/2014 07:23

All good symptoms retro!! I wanted to do the same but my mums birthday was last month so just missed it!!

symptoms for me are nausea bloating and wind Blush its lovely having to take gavisconafter every meal haha.

Dh asked me to stop testing for a few weeks. We go on holiday tomorrow so that will take my mind off it!!

RetroHippy · 22/05/2014 07:28

DH is the one that wants me to test Smile, he keeps googling the most reliable ones after last month. He was very reassured by the CB and FRERs! We have now decided to not bankrupt ourselves and have gone for supermarket own brand Wink bless him, he's so excited.

I have wind and bloating too Blush. It was awful on Tuesday. I was like an actual stinky balloon. So attractive Hmm

PolytheneGirl · 22/05/2014 08:08

I don't mind anyone having a little giggle at my "misfortune". I'm glad I made you smile. I will today be avoiding cats arses!

My cats are indoor cats and their poos are definitely more pongy since the BFP! Vom! Doesn't help that I have to wait for DH to empty it! Thankfully they tend to poo am and pm and nothing in between!

toots123 · 22/05/2014 09:56

Haha yeah retro its lovely isnt it Blush

I'm the same with smells. Someone got on the train last night with a chippy and I was close to being sick. Normally I love that smell haha

chillychicken · 22/05/2014 09:57

Ah thank you all for letting me moan about SILs! Grin FIL has given me the letter from maternity ref my scan so I've called them up and it's just a small clerical error. They have my address correct but my postal address is my old one (WTF?) so she's changed that now.

Feel really, really sick today but otherwise my symptoms are really dropping off and I am, of course, worried. 11 weeks though so I'm guessing they might start to drop off around this time? Boobs no longer sore (not a bad thing to be honest!). Just really need to start thinking positively. I have no reason to think anything is wrong except for the fact I'm a Pessimistic Polly.

RetroHippy · 22/05/2014 10:18

11 weeks seems so far away right now... Doesn't help that I have the entire summer term to get through first. Still, 12 week scan as a reward should keep me going.

EnglishGirlsReturned · 22/05/2014 10:26

Had my scan. Not as successful as I'd hoped, but not awful either. There's a sac there but measuring at 4-5 weeks. Which could be possible as I think I implanted late. Have to go back in 3 weeks. That's going to be the longest 3 weeks of my life!!

chillychicken · 22/05/2014 10:40

retro It feels like it's been so long for me to get to this point but now I'm like "woah, 11 weeks already?! yikes!" Smile

English how many weeks did you think you were?

EnglishGirlsReturned · 22/05/2014 10:44

Somewhere between 5 and 6. Hopefully it's just a slow starter. Trying not to worry too much, taking each day at a time. Roll on 11thJune!

chillychicken · 22/05/2014 10:48

Maybe it is just a dating thing Smile A few people (fancy as well I think?) had their dates pushed back a week so fairly common. I know it's so hard not to worry and it doesn't help with people saying "try not to worry" but a friend always tells me, "the past is in the past, the future is in the future, so don't live for those. Live for today as today is your present". Easier said than done but I do try to remember that whenever I'm freaking out about things, pregnancy related or not! Smile

fancyacupoftea · 22/05/2014 11:03

Yes I got pushed back a whole flipping week too English so I really wouldn't write it off as bad news yet. Good that they've got you booked in for 3 weeks and fingers crossed all will be well then!
