Here is to more positive 12 week scans and enjoying our second trimesters, all feeling more human hopefully!

Hopeful, I'm eagerly waiting to hear your news. Do you know the sex? I'm having my Harmony tomorrow morn and will definitely be asking the gender.

MrsWombat · 07/05/2014 18:45

If anyone is looking for a buggy recommendation, take a look at the Baby Jogger City Mini, and the GT version as well.

Apparently it's a mumsnet favourite! You can also get a carrycot for when baby is tiny, and you can fit certain car seats on to it with adapters. Lots of the mums at DS's school have them as well. I am looking to get one mainly for the school run once baby is happy to sit forward facing, (we used a silver cross pop last time) but we've also got a long haul holiday planned for when baby is 4 months, so want to get it for then, as our silver cross pram will be too big, and the pop too small. Need to persuade DP though.... I emailed his this morning with a massive list of pros and cons of everything and he said "what do you want a new buggy for?" But with a smile, so fingers crossed.....I see a trip to John Lewis in our future.

I've got my Bugaboo Cameleon, that'll do me. Unless my £30 million lottery win come through before November when I'll get an Origami! Grin

Hopeful83 · 07/05/2014 19:35

Thanks everyone, I'm desperate to know too. When I called them back it was 17.50 and they said the person I needed to speak to was on the phone and could they call me back, to which I said yes. But I did not get a call back. Phoned them at 6.20 to find out they closed at 6! So now I'm going to have to wait until tomorrow, and as I'm a teacher, the first chance I'll get to call will be 12.15. So annoying! And yes, we did ask to find out gender so hopefully will know that tomorrow too

Anyone else feeling a bit more tired and moody this week? I'm 11 weeks got massive headache

Loaf99 · 07/05/2014 20:07

Yes I also keep feeling out of breath and waking up with dry mouth need to hydrate more!

Loaf99 · 07/05/2014 20:08

Im getting over the fact that dh got wrecked on Friday at party and was sick no less than4 times on Saturday.bless him he was really sorry

moggle · 07/05/2014 20:12

loaf my DH did that a few weeks ago. I gave him SUCH a bollocking. To be fair to him he hardly ever gets that drunk, but when he does it is an absolute train wreck. I gave him the whole "you are going to be a FATHER!" thing. He felt so bad the next day he was making it up to me for ages. Especially as I then had to drive 2 hours the next morning to his parents', and driving has been the one thing that's made me really queasy and tired.
Ah well!!

PosyFossilsShoes · 07/05/2014 20:17

Not moody but REALLY tired. I still have work to do and can barely keep my eyes open.

I've had a couple of long days which hasn't helped and I'm sure that makes me more sick. I thought the nausea had gone but I was sick on Sunday, sick yesterday, and sick on the tube this morning again. At least this time I had a plastic bag with me to puke decorously into. I'm feeling quite whiney about this now. Someone maaaake it stoooooppppppp!

alita7 · 07/05/2014 20:27

posy I had some long days on placement - they got tougher as i got more pregnant, in the end I canceled my Last long day, did a normal shift and had a study day for the other half, I hate abusing that allowance but I needed to. You have my deepest sympathies as you can't do that!

RandomInternetStranger · 07/05/2014 20:47

I am totally over emotional, I have stinking rage and I'm snappier than a Jack Russell on heat.

pinkgirlythoughts · 07/05/2014 20:48

All went well at the scan this morning, due date has been moved forwards three days, so is now November 14th. Was hoping I'd get done quickly enough to nip upstairs to the wards and show my grandad, who was taken in at the weekend after a heart attack, but it ended up taking so long we had to rush off to get DH to work. Got a phone call this evening to say they'd let him out, so got to show him and my grandma the scan pic in the end :)

PosyFossilsShoes · 07/05/2014 20:49

I get some days which are much lighter though - tomorrow I should be done by 5 or 6, and I'm looking forward to Friday which should finish about midday, hurrah!

But yesterday was a killer - up super early to drive to Wales for a hearing, then back again for a late meeting with a client who didn't quite understand the concept of "It's late now." It got to after 9pm and I started making "Let's wrap this up" noises, and he just blithely responded with "Don't worry, I'll pay extra for the extra time!" Not the point!

weeonion · 07/05/2014 20:51

Oh Hopeful83 - hope you get that call in the morning! I have another week for my harmony results - IMpatiently waiting. We have asked to find out the sex and also took up the option of finding out about any sex chromosonal issues. Venus - hope it goes well for you too.

Feeling quite pg and kinda "full" today. Lots of flutters - not really strong enough to be described as kicks as yet but very early for that! I am also on the October antenatal thread (covering all EDDs!!) and lots of those mums who are much further on than us are still not feeling anything much so those of us who are, are pretty lucky!

Sympathies to all those with tiredness and mood swings. Despite being past the "magic" 12 weeks - it doesnt seem to be consistently easing for us all yet. When does the blooming start??

RandomInternetStranger · 07/05/2014 21:00

Are you all getting the harmony test privately? My mw hasn't said anything to me about it. I don't think I'd bother if it's private, the combined nuchal & bloods came back 1 in 5000 so that's good enough for me. Apart from the sex does it tell you anything else?

weeonion · 07/05/2014 21:13

Random - its not offered on NHS so yep - private so probably that's why your mw didnt mention it (or the Nifty test.) It will look at chromosonal issues eg Downs, Edwards and Patou as well as picking up other health issues. It extracts fetal DNA from the mother's blood.

RandomInternetStranger · 07/05/2014 21:18

I just looked at the local private clinic prices - it's like 500!! Shock No chance!

weeonion · 07/05/2014 21:27

650 in Glasgow Smile

RandomInternetStranger · 07/05/2014 22:15

Blimey! I need to go into haematology!

alita7 · 07/05/2014 22:33

random I'm the same. I actually get mean :/

HRMumness · 07/05/2014 22:41

I had my scan last week, all is well and there is only one baby (strong twin genes in my family). Nuchal was low (1.2) but still waiting on bloods. The guy doing the ultrasound was really chilled and he didn't even mind that my DD lost interest very quickly and started making a racket (DH took her out as he had seen the baby already). He also gave me seven scan pics, although he said if anyone asks you only got one. It was much more a feeling of relief than the emotion / excitement of last time around. I know that will come once it gets closer and the baby actually arrives.
I was convinced it was a boy as I had no nausea compared to DD which was non-stop but the nub theory makes me think it might be another girl looking at the scan. Next scan is on June 20 so not that long away really.

Loaf99 · 07/05/2014 23:10

Ha moggle that's exactly how it was he didn't really surface till mid afternoon and it was a little reunion so he made his head sore with extra curricular activities. I had to pull over outside kwik fit (!) for him to do a sick and then he had tears in his eyes saying he was so sorry he had let me down and blah bla! Bless him he is a sweety usually xxx just expect empathy non getting trashed ness as no fun for me!!

MrsWombat · 08/05/2014 06:00

Random - I'm only going to get the harmony test if my odds are low enough for them to suggest a CVS, as I'd rather have a blood test. If they say my odds are I fine, I'll go with that, and save the money.

Northernexile · 08/05/2014 07:26

Morning gang! Scan today at 9am, so feeling nervous now. This is my first appointment of any kind, so I expect I'll have to do all the usual booking-in stuff first. Will catch up later- good luck to anyone else going in today, and congrats to all of you who had good news in the last couple of days Thanks

WheresMrMonkey · 08/05/2014 07:46

Goodluck!
