Hi All. Sorry about the aches hez I totally missed the hip pain, thank god.. it sounds like a nightmare - but my hands are in agony and in splints all day.... we all get bloody something don't we!

38 + 2 here and STILL PREGNANT and desperate that she doesn't go over by too much. 8 days 'on average' just makes me want to weep!

I've had enough! Knackered. Grumpy. Useless. Fat. Emotional. Can't sleep. etc etc Grin

sambababy · 08/05/2014 15:45

Chin up ladies, it's so close now! If it helps, my spd vanished almost straight after birth. It hadn't been as crippling as some of yours, but I hope it is a small comfort to know it will go soon.

I've currently got the cutest boobie leech I've ever seen Grin

Has anyone heard from nannyplum lately?

hobbjobb · 08/05/2014 15:59

I as thinking about nannyplum the other day samba, she went quiet after her baby was born, hope everything is ok

Hezbean · 08/05/2014 16:14

I hear you Rebecca!! Carpal Tunnel sounds horrendous, you poor thing... Really hope she doesn't keep you waiting too long. Loads of people keep telling me to do lots of walking to get the head down so if you don't have the hip pain it could be worth a try?

(I'm sat on the sofa in a position which is probably making the baby turn back to back as we speak and haven't even been out of the house today so not really doing myself any good am I!!?!?)

Samba so great to hear that Sofia is doing well. Are you home now? Hope NannyPlum is OK.

Hezbean · 08/05/2014 16:23

oooooh - very quiet MrsFoo today! Wonder if that sweep has set things off....?

bushprincess · 08/05/2014 16:31

Hey all! Still pg here too (39 + 3, assuming a 12th May EDD as per scan)... no feelings to indicate he's on his way today, but we're all ready and raring to go! Still, I can't complain as still feeling good, but just want to meet him now!

samba, I PM'd nannyplum the other day as I was worried but haven't heard anything... I really hope that her and her little one are ok.... quite worried really...

Cake to all... not long now!!

loopylou52 · 08/05/2014 17:24

Bit worrying about nannyplum, hope she's ok.

Still pregnant here too, 39+4, and no signs of anything happening soon. Keeping myself busy with bits of housework and currently making a cake. Think I'll start planning a few things for next week in the hope of invoking Sod's Law!

CbeebiesIsAboutToPop · 08/05/2014 17:28

What happened to nanny plumb? (Finding keeping up with thread really hard!) hope she's ok.

hobbjobb · 08/05/2014 17:34

The last I remember of nanny she was upset that baby had been whisked away shortly after birth and she sounded a bit down, unless she came back since then? I seem to remember baby plum had a poorly foot according to scan, and would need surgery after birth? though I may have got mixed up with that.
Hope they are ok and just in the new baby haze and she's not had time to be on here

impatientlywaiting · 08/05/2014 17:36

I hope that it's case of Nannyplum being to fascinated with new baby and looking after other DCs so she's just been too busy to post. Hope all is well with her.

Thinking of you coming up to your due dates, and happy DueDate to you WM. Hope that we continue to have new babies born at the rate they have been. I must say I've noticed that our May babies are particularly punctual so far, have loads of hair and are of course gorgeous going by the Facebook photos.

Vikks · 08/05/2014 18:40

Hi All, my mw appointment today revealed high BP again and I've been sent to hospital for monitoring. All my lower reading have been over 100! They are keeping me in over night and trying me on some medication. If it doesn't work they might induce me tomorrow!! I was not expecting that when I got up this morning.....Scared would be an understatement. Shock Shock

Hope Nanny and mini plum are well X

ClearlyMoo · 08/05/2014 18:41

Hello!

I made fresh bread today too! It's a no-knead recipe basically just requires you to leave it to rest for 12-18hrs. DH and I have eaten THE WHOLE thing for breakfast & lunch! It was super yum though possibly did not help heartburn met a friend in Waitrose for coffee and did a food shop. Got four pork shoulder steaks for £1.99 (result) so made creamy leek and mustard pork with rice for dinner. Is being a very temporary domestic goddess part of nesting?!

Bought two more pineapples (the first four didn't work), and stupidly attempted DTD this am we are not very creative usually but had to be due to my whale like features and DH got cramp!

Irritable uterus is driving me potty. I contracted all the way round Waitrose - not even really "contractions" just one long contraction causing rock hard bump and constant pain. I don't mean to whinge as I know lots have suffered worse but wouldn't mind if I knew they were a means to an end! Was thinking over last 4 weeks I must've had enough BH contractions that they'll be more than my actual ones (hopefully)!

Just realised how middle class I sound with all this talk of Waitrose, now I really must go and iron some cloth serviettes!

ClearlyMoo · 08/05/2014 18:55

Ohhh Vikks! Cross post missed yours whilst going on about Waitrose..

Hope you're ok. Thinking of you Hmm

Hope we hear from Nanny soon x

loopylou52 · 08/05/2014 19:08

Oh gosh vikks, poor you! Fingers crossed the medication helps overnight.

clearly, you're making me hungry! I can't start making dinner yet because we've just discovered a leak in the kitchen so dh has the dishwasher and washing machine out trying to figure out where it's coming from. Not good!! Hmm

NannyPlumForPM · 08/05/2014 19:57

Oh my! We're still here and both ok :) sorry I haven't been keeping up with all of your news. Poppy is doing really well and 2 weeks old. Up and down to various appointments but think we're all clear with the incontinentia pigmenti. Foot is being looked at tomorrow :)

Really sorry I worried you all, Blush I will do better with posting. Massive congratulations to all those who've popped! And I will do my best to catch up!

moobaloo · 08/05/2014 20:09

Yay Nanny's back! Glad Poppy is ok and all is going well!

Good luck Vikks, hoping for either a good response to the medication or a speedy induction for you Smile

Mmm clearly all sounds lovely! Except the contracting obviously. Am busy not being a domestic goddess here - pizza is in the oven! Grin

Hope the leak is fixed ASAP loopy, not what you want at any time!

Also wondering about MrsFoo, I don't think she's been on FB today either - fingers crossed for her! Although well jealous if she's queue jumping haha

I. Want. My. Baby. Now. Please???

hobbjobb · 08/05/2014 20:17

Great to hear you and poppy are doing well nanny

It is ominously quiet from mrsfoo...

dobedobedo · 08/05/2014 21:12

MrsFoo was tweeting this morning, but she's been quiet for a while! Ooh I wonder if she's popped!

nanny good to hear from you and glad to hear little Poppy is doing well!
My mum has called me three times today to ask if I've had any twinges. Hmm My dad and sister have also called. I'm beginning to wish I'd lied about my due date now!

This little one is showing no promising signs of arriving. Apart from the odd uncomfortable braxton hicks, which I've learned by now, mean jack shit!

Ds asked me if he could go for a sleep over at his friends house tomorrow night. I said "what if the baby comes?" and he said "Oh come on mum. There's about a 5% chance of that happening!" while rolling his eyes. He's too damn smart!

I have an appointment with my consultant tomorrow, so fingers crossed I get an induction date. I can't imagine myself going into spontaneous labour for some reason!

vikks Hope you manage to get some sleep and sorry to hear about your BP! Keep us updated!

loopylou52 · 08/05/2014 21:53

Good to hear you and little poppy are doing ok nanny.

Wow dobe, your son is v smart - I could do with him explaining that to some of my friends and family! I'm getting quite a lot of well-intended, not-so-subtle 'how are you' messages now.

Well, I officially don't want to go into labour in the next day or two - looks like we have a blocked pipe and need to hope the plumber can come out tomorrow and sort it. No washing machine or dishwasher in the meantime. Sad

SarahJinx · 08/05/2014 22:14

Hey ladies

Alice Grace was born yesterday at 10.50 am weighing 9lbs7.5. She's utterly adorable and we are thrilled with her.

I was due to be induced yesterday anyway but started having inconsistent/infrequent contractions from about midnight on Tuesday. Until about four am they were varying in intensity and length so thought not much was happening, called delivery suite at 5am really because I wanted to get checked and sort out arrangements just in case for DS.

We arrived at 8am I was already 7cms dilated. I spent the whole time standing up with DP rubbing my back (that man has talent!) until I moved onto the bed when fully dilated. I gave birth on all fours hanging over the top of the bed. Because of the interventions with DS birth I really didn't understand how primal natural delivery is at all, and feel utterly blessed to have experienced it that way, my body totally knew what to do, where to position me and actually how to cope (though the gas and air was glued to my actual face!).

I had a small tear, six stitches and other than that all taking ages post also taking ages to deliver the placenta it was all massively straightforward and recorded as a five hour labour.

DS got to keep his own birthday and I got the experience that I wanted. We're all besotted with Alice and all, except for the craziness that is breast feeding a newborn (8 pm - 2am last night, ALL day today with two half and hour naps!! Shock) is good in my world!

Will read back over what I've missed and post properly, good luck to anyone nearly due date or at the start of labour x

bushprincess · 08/05/2014 22:15

eggsnbeans · 09/05/2014 02:15

Awww lovely story Sarah FX for all births to be like that Wink

Vikks How are you feeling? Are the meds working?

How did your consultant appointment go Dobe?

Still cooking here too, Feeling bloody gigantic, but not quite ready for bubs yet (please stay in, please stay in). Also very worried about unplanned homebirth... seems to be happening to quite a few ladies I know! I want to be in the hospital so someone else can clean up and bring me food on demand Wink

wm3010 · 09/05/2014 04:52

Morning all, my waters just broke in bed, really glad we invested in a waterproof mattress cover and some of those maternity mat things as it made changing the sheets a lot easier. Am sitting having toast just now as no sign of any proper contractions yet although feeling generally crampy. Guess I should phone the matenity unit soon anyway, I think they usually swab you to check for meconium? I'm not worried though, fluid was clear. Actually heard the pop as the sac broke!
