Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Jaysecond · 28/08/2006 15:53

oops i meant nearly 8 mths!

Jaysecond · 28/08/2006 15:54

god i must check messages before posting....

'12 weeks into this pregancy' 'they will be close together'

newmum21 · 28/08/2006 16:28

surf and supervise, i think i've got to remember that one ! how are you coping with a little one and being pregnant, sometimes i don't even think i can cope with myself, i would guess that its quite hard? are you going to find out the sex of the new baby or will it be a surprise? im so tempted to find out but my dbf wants it to be a surprise...

cazboldy · 28/08/2006 16:30

My youngest is also nearly 8 months - he was born on the 3rd Jan. They are lovely at this age aren't they Jaysecond. Still like little babies, but into everything and so rewarding! not sure when I am due yet with this one, wil have to wait til the scan to find out!

Jaysecond · 28/08/2006 16:55

caz, my DD was also born on the 3 jan !!! woweeeee. How bizzare is that! How are you finding it, managing with the LO and being pregnant?

Newmum, i am coping ok, i am alot more tired this time round which is amazing as i was sooooo knackered the first time round i couldnt even imagine that i would feel tireder ( is that a word?!) I suffered this first trimester with horrid MS and the changing of dirty nappies really didnt help {yeeeeeuk} but thankfully DH is a star and he would do it if i yelled. Lucky for me he is home based with work which helps, although he does have to go abroad a fair bit which is a drag, but you know, you got to take the rough with the smooth!

cazboldy · 28/08/2006 17:08

Well I am glad it is the school holidays. This will be number 5 for me. I have been exhausted, just falling asleep all the time! Also had awful ms - but all day which I was like when I had dd ( another girl maybe?) you are sooo right with the dirty nappies Jaysecond!

kittywits · 28/08/2006 17:08

ooooo My youngest was born on Dec 22nd so only a week or so ahead of caz and Jay's. I've been so lucky with her, she's always been SO placid and good natured and sleeps for England. i really hope the next one is as good.

cazboldy · 28/08/2006 17:11

what were your others like kittywits? all of mine have been good sleepers - dh says the constant noise lulls them off! I always get told " you wait this time you won't be so lucky" but have been so far

Jaysecond · 28/08/2006 17:25

my LO was awful for the first three mths or so. Then we took her to the head shrink (DH terminology for crainial osteopath) and ever since she has been soooo good. sleeping from 7 till 6 most days, which i cant really complain about. Does make you wonder if the next one will be as good though!!!

Wow 5 caz, thats some going. I always said id like to have at least 4, but now at 35 1/2 i am not sure i can spend the next 2/3 yrs being pregnant and having them so young altogether.....now if only i had met my DH sooner

cazboldy · 28/08/2006 17:31

I guess it is a lot, but wouldn't have it any other way! I am going to be 25 on thurs. My eldest will be 10 in october. dd is 6 ds2 is 5 and ds3 is 8 months so they are quite nicely spaced really.
I started seeing dh when I was 13 and got married at 16 so young love and all that!! but luckily it seems to work for us. (Well most of the time anyway!)

kittywits · 28/08/2006 17:38

Caz they have all always slept pretty well through the night. Temprement wise they are so different. Ds1 is typical ist born, lovely nature but v. competetive and a real showman. Ds2 is clever, cunning, and sly! He has always been very difficult to manage but is fantastic company on his own. He should have been an only child!
DD1 is lovely, although went through a tricky period between 3 and 4. DD2 is just so 2years old. I find her very tough going at the mo, you know what I mean don't you?! DD3 is so placid at times I wonder if there's a problem. It's lovely though 'cos the others carry her round the house with them. She can crawl now, but they still do it. Perhaps she never cries because she's never alone?

Dp is quite happy to have no.6 We've struggled for a while now though and I rather suspect we're coming to the end of the road. Bad timing or what?

How about yours are they very different?

cazboldy · 28/08/2006 18:22

Yeah they are actually.....would agree with you on number 1 and the last 1. He too can crawl, or at least would if he was allowed to! dd is definitely the boss (don't know how I would manage another girl! though she would be delighted!) ds 2 is very laid back aswell, although he is coming out of himself more now that he has been at school for a while.
We have had a couple of tough patches over the years, but can't quite imagine being without him even if he is just like an extra child sometimes hope you manage to work things out.

emmalinc · 28/08/2006 18:34

Hi all,

Am new to the site.
Estimate Due Date 4 March
Am 26 years old.

Have my dating scan tomorrow. A bit worried that there might be a couple in there as I've got quite a bump for 13 weeks! Guess I should find out tomorrow. Anyone else bigger than expected?

Jaysecond · 28/08/2006 19:16

Hi Emmalinc, and welcome. We have one lady , Leo who is expecting twins, noone else yet is, not that i am aware of. A few ladies have said they are feeling quite big for their dates, including me. Although i think mine might be to do with the weight i didnt lose after DD1!! I will know on Thursday though as thats when my scan is! Good luck for tomorrow, let us know how it goes!

Piffle · 28/08/2006 20:09

I'm 11 weeks and into maternity trousers, which is directly related to being unconditioned after dd.
is it your first baby emmalinc? (and are you linc as in Lincoln?)
Good luck for your scan

DollyP · 28/08/2006 20:35

Hello ladies

Another quick one from me. 10 weeks now and MS shows no signs of going away. I am supposed to be going back to work tom but I don't think I can manage the jourmey (45 mins on the bus) without heaving into my plastic bag . Had to make an emergency dash from tesco today leaving dd in her buggy as I was overwhelmed with nausea. Really am finding it tough going. Off to the Dr's on thurs - don't know why I am going really as she can't do anything but at least it would convince me that I am not going bonkers.

Good luck for the scans coming up and congratulations to all the ladies who have made it to the end of the first bit. Hope to see you on the other side of MS very soon.

XXXX

DollyP · 28/08/2006 20:37

That looks terrible - can I just add it's a little tesco metro and I could see the buggy through the window before anyone thinks I am totally irresponsible .

fatfox · 28/08/2006 20:52

Hi Newmum21 and Emmalinc, welcome

You both have similar EDD's - my official date is 3 March, so snap! Good to have you on board.

We're all heading towards the second trimester -Has your MS gone now? I woke this morning craving beefburgers and chips (I'm vegetarian) - so I reckon I'm graduating from the MS phase into the crazy cravings phase.

Piffle glad your MS has gone too

My tum pooched out at 10 weeks and I have been wearing maternity clothes since then - mind you its my third and I've a bit of a tummy anyway

Kitty and Caz - shame about the negative comments isn't it? People can be incredibly insensitive. What gives them the right to comment on how many children any of us have? I told my family yesterday and it was carefully staged at a party, with copies of the scan handed round, so no-one could say anything negative. Its the last thing you need when you're hormonal anyway isn't it?

Roll on the 2nd trimester for all of us

13+1

Rosylily · 28/08/2006 22:52

It looks a bit crowded but can I join in? I am 12 weeks with my 4th. due march 11th but with the other 3 i went 5 days over each time and I always give birth at 10 minutes to the hour (10 to 10, 10 to 2, 10 to 2) the second one emerging while trousers still on and I always know what I am having. So if it happens again I'll register with witchnet.com

eidsvold · 28/08/2006 23:01

glad to read I am not the only one. Am 9 1/2 weeks and needing maternity bottoms - my other jeans jsut are so tight around the waist. My waist has gone!!

Having said that - did have a bit of a belly anyway. But totally shocked to have the pregnant shape appearing already.

morning/all day sickness intermittent.... come days worse than others - some times worse than others.

Fatfox - nope - we have a water shortage and are on strict water restrictions.... and looking to going even further.

So far my two have been summer babes - dd1 - August in the UK, dd2 Nov in Aus and no3 will be Mar - technically autumn but not really in terms of actual weather.

newmum21 · 29/08/2006 07:24

hi fatfox, wow beefburgers and chips? i think im almost over the ms phase but still havent got my appitite back yet and since its my first have to say i thought i was dying i felt so awful, havent had any cravings yet but feel abit more energetic, but having trouble sleeping at night. is this normal or just me worrying about nothing and keeping myself awake?

im quite small to begin with and now with my bump starting to grow im finding it an absolute nightmare to find clothes to fit me, any ideas where i can try anyone?

Jaysecond · 29/08/2006 08:43

early risers!!!! Had a much better night with DD last night, only woke oncee as opposed to every hour like the night before, think her antibiotics have kicked in, she seems alot happier in herself today, pheweeee. She has pulled herself up for the first itme this morning, oh god things really are moving fast!
Hi and welcome rosylily, how strange with the arrivals of your little ones, maybe this could be a whole new job oppotunity for you, you could tell us where when and what we are all having!
Was going to go ito london today to visit work, havnt manageed it in all the time i have been off well it right in the centre and i just dont think i can manage the tubes on my own with pram....anyway, south west trains are on strike so i cant go in really anyway.....grrrrr just when i had bilut myself up to travel in...!!!!

fatfox · 29/08/2006 09:09

Welcome Rosylily - what a pretty name too

What do you think you are having this time?

We had a spooky incident on Sunday when we told my Mum and sister about this pregnancy. Sister has a friend who reckons she's a Medium!!! When I made our announcement, both Mum and sister piped up with "oooooh, Sally said you were pregnant, how weird!" I was a bit cross that "Sally" had got in first and told them before we did!

Of course we don't beleive in all this stuff, but have nonetheless issued instructions to this Sally person to tell us the gender!

Jaysecond, so glad your DD is on the mend again

Newmum21 - Mothercare actually have some quite nice stuff at the moment believe it or not - they have drawstring waist linen trousers and elasticated jersey trousers, which are really comfy and don't have those dodgy huge elestic waist things. The drawstrings are great, 'cos obviously you can wear them tight now, then adjust them as you get bigger.

Eivsvold - we had a hosepipe ban here to beleive it or not! But that was mainly due to the water supply companies failing to fix their leaky pipes!!! Hope your MS wears off soon

Hi everyone else, how are you feeling at the moment?

kittywits · 29/08/2006 09:38

Morning all
ah yes maternity clothes . i had to put some on the other day. It's that really rubbish satge though when the maternity stuuf is too big and the normal clothes too small. I ended up having to take them in a bit. I find it's the depth of the belly bit that's the prob if you know what I mean.
Off to buy my darlings their autumn shoes today, so, that's a bank loan job then. Can't wait until school starts!!
DD1 is starting reception this year . She's so ready for it.

Newmum, check out ebay for maternity stuff, you can pick up someabsolute bargins, lots of new stuff too if that's what you'd prefer, fun looking as well.
I am glad of MN for many reasons one being that I am not now spending a fortune in the auction rooms of ebay, still I'm sure some of my maternity stuuf really needs replacing.........

Jaysecond · 29/08/2006 09:53

lol Kittywits i too am a fan of 'said online auction site' all my mates round here are alwasy asking me what bargins i have secured! Watching a new 'babydan' playpen at the mo, normally 50-70 quid, this one is a steal at 20...lol!
