Hi to everyone, i havnt even attempted to read up on whats been going on, it seems that if you miss just oe day you get lagged behind in the thread, so forgive my ignorance! Will try to get on more, but find it hard with one thing and another.
Cant believe the end of the first trimester is upon us, woweeeee!!!!
J xx

pennygaff · 27/08/2006 18:55

End of the first trimester,........YEEEEEEEHARRAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

kittywits · 27/08/2006 19:28

Congtrats to all those at the end of their ist trimester!!
2 weeks to go for me, nearly there.
I must confess I am NOT looking forward to telling anyone about this preg. What a coward I am. I know it's my business, still I'll have to face the looks and comments. I've a good mind just to keepon expending and ley them work it out that way. Infact, come to think fo it, I did that last time!!
Part of me wants to tell everyone that it wasn't planned, but we have to deal with it etc. etc because doing THAT would be easier for ME. But another part of me would feel I was betraying the baby, so I'm going to say we wanted it and we're not mad ( well we are, but I'm not saying that!)

Fatfox, loved the facist liberals, it's so true
How was the 'do' today? Did it work out with telling people?

Jay, what does the midwife think the bleeding was? You must have been really shocked .

It's lovely having you lot here to rabbit to. Something I am missing a bit in RL at the mo.

kittywits · 27/08/2006 19:31

Nova, how do you do links to other threads on MN? I've done links to other sites but couldn't work it out within MN, thick or what

Jaysecond · 27/08/2006 20:18

kittywits, she said it could be a number of different things from a cappilary that had 'popped' in my uterus to having had sex....{ot that that was an option!!!} i guess that 'down there' is so engorged {what a great word...} with blood that anything could happen. I was in when i saw it, especially as nothing like it happened first time, bt then i remembered threads on here disscussing it and sayig that its common, thats when i called mw and she re assured me also.
Have been doing nothing today, DH has said i have to put feet up as much as possible, shocked him a fair bit also. hes hoovered, sorted some washing, and cooked diner, bless him!

am going for a bath now. Hope youre ok, dont worry about how others will react to your news, i think its fabulous, if i was younger then i would def have more than i think i am going to be able to manage. Big familes rock!
xx

kittywits · 27/08/2006 20:33

Thanks Jay, so glad you're getting the chance to rest

eidsvold · 27/08/2006 22:25

wish I was at the end of 1st trimester - but three weeks to go for me

OP posts:
fatfox · 28/08/2006 07:23

Eivsfold - yes but you've got the lovely weather haven't you? Sounds like a great lifestyle

Jaysecond - try to get plenty of rest, you poor thing. I bled for 3 weeks with last pregnancy and turned out to be cervical erosion (so "nothing" in terms of danger to pregnancy) but its really difficult not to worry. Hopefully your bleeding will just fade now.

Nova, thanks for the tips about the link - I might try it one day!!!

Kittywits - Ditto about the large family - I'm quite jealous. I'm having my third at 42/43 and get negative comments due to age, but part of me wishes that if only we'd started a family younger, we could have had more.... this will deffo be the last one for us, due to DH and my ages, but RESPECT to lovely big families.

Told the family about forthcoming babay, at my sister's "do". They were all lovely about it (even that grumpy father of mine). In fact Dad's girlfriend even said "if you ever want us to babysit anytime, just give us a ring"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
First time they have EVER offered to babysit for us.
This means we now have to try and get our act together to actually go out sometimes !
The "do" was made even better by the fact that it was our job to drive the extremely attractive male entertainer to the party. It was a 1hr 45 min journey

By the way, is it just me that has filthy dreams when I'm PG?
Anyone else having dirty dreams?
If so, please do feel to share all the details

BooBoo - did you "come out" too this weekend? How did it go?

fatfox · 28/08/2006 07:25

Sorry, forgot to add

EDD somehwere between 28 Feb-3 March

kittywits · 28/08/2006 08:34

Dirty dreams? Erm yes I think so but not usually until a bit later on. Probably driven by the fact that my DP doesn't find preg women attractive and I feel all neglected. Still, I should have got used to that by now. Infact it's a complete Mystery to me how I've ended up with this many children in the first place !

eidsvold · 28/08/2006 08:38

lovely weather yeh - but if it is this hot already - imagine our summer - last trimester of pregnancy!!!!!

kittywits · 28/08/2006 08:42

Bloody pouring down here in true bank holiday tradition

fatfox · 28/08/2006 08:42

Kittywits ROFL

I think its because I'm being neglected that I'm having these saucy dreams!!!

A bit like RL vs MN !

Eivsvold - which part of Australia are you in? DH is from Darwin.

eidsvold · 28/08/2006 08:55

we finally got some rain today - can't remember the last time I saw rain......

I am in Brisbane

fatfox · 28/08/2006 09:03

Eivsvold It must be so nice to live somewhere where you don't get rain very often !

newmum21 · 28/08/2006 11:03

hello all, new to the site.
me: 21
due date: 03/03/2007

first one, so very nervous, 13 weeks now went for my 12 week scan last week everything looks good, was amazing to see my tiny baby ...

cazboldy · 28/08/2006 11:43

kittywits, I too have decided that I am just going to let people guess this time, mainly because ever since my last little chap was born everyone keeps saying " but you wouldn't want any more would you!" almost telling me that I mustn't! Are your family supportive? My sister told my mum on Friday night ( supposedly because she was outraged! and thought that Mum had a right to know, even though I had expressly asked her not to. She only found out as she walked in when I was heaving over the kitchen sink!) Mum is furious with me but I haven't gotten upset this time, I knew she would be this way and have said that she can contact me when and if she calms down. What annoys me is that my sister (who is a single mum) works 3 and a half days a week I look after her ds 1 day and our mum does the rest, also she is always asking them for help financially. I never ask Mum to have the children, or for money. Sometimes she does have them, but that is when she asks me, and only 1 at a time anyway. This all stems from the fact that I was 15 when I had my first, when they were understandably cross, but they have never been happy when I have told them of any of my subsequent pregnancies..... now I just tell myself that it is their problem, not mine! Sorry for the rant, but I do feel better now!

Piffle · 28/08/2006 12:00

Eidsvold, I had my ds in NZ in February and it was the hottest day of the year, when we left hospital he left in a nappy and nothing else
it was 37 degrees and I vowed if I ever had anothe child I would never be pregnant through high summer again.
With dd I was
But this time have cracked it!!! A baby born in Spring ish time MAGIC!
On the downside my maternity clothes are all the wrong season, so off out now to get some new trousers, nearly 11 weeks but my girth is looking pregnant, the joy of #3 when you never really got back into shape after #2
I'm fine by the way. M/s has been gone over a week now am relieved beyond belief and am now convinced it means it's a boy.
Enjoy your bank holiday everyone!

kittywits · 28/08/2006 12:37

Welcome new mum!

Cazboldly. I haven't told anyone yet. i know my mum will go off on one. Before when anyone asked me if I was having anyomore before I could reply she would say in a loud voice " I do hope not"
Now she makes the odd comment which makes me think she might have an idea. E.g one of the baby monitors is broken and I said i was going to have to buy a new one and she sais " weel, it would be very annoting to have to spend the money on that especially since you're not going to need it for much longer are you??". Other cooments have come in a similar vein.

My mum is really good at helping out and I do ask her from time to time. I know most of her concerns will be about how it will affect her.

I know how many kids I have is my business, but I would like people to be happy for me.
Also my relationship with dp is crumbling before my eyes and I just can't hack any more negativity.

it sound like you are having a rogh time of it too. Do you think you mum will come round?

kittywits · 28/08/2006 12:37

Please excuse the typos

newmum21 · 28/08/2006 13:32

even though im only 13 weeks now, why is it that i feel as though i have been pregnant for what seems like forever? hope this 2nd trimester goes by a little bit quicker? Maybe im just being impatient because im sooo excited and nervous since its my first...

cazboldy · 28/08/2006 15:08

well if past experience is anything to go by, not really. I think she finds it all a huge embarrassment, but to be fair she is very good to the kiddies, which is the most important thing. sorry to hear about you and dp. how does he feel about the new addition?

Jaysecond · 28/08/2006 15:11

hi new mum, and welcome! Having your first is very exciting as you dont know whats happening or what to expect. I also found when i was having my first it was all i could think about1 Then when i told my mum and family and friends, they would be calling and asking how i was, so i was constanly reminded, it seemed like every week would drag by and i was waiting for the ext one to come along.... with number 2 however, although i am very excited i dont find i have the time to 'think' about it every day. What with DD to look after and the developments shes going through, i feel that the first trimester has gone so quickly i cant remember it!!!! guess everyones differnet but thats my experience. Try and enjoy it all as much as possible, its an amazing and life changing experience. Once the bay gets here you wont have time to think , and time will fly by!!!
Speaking of DD, DH and i had a rotton night last night, she was up screaming for most of it, in the end i had to call NHS and got an emergancy appointment. Turned out shes developed a throat infection. That explains why she hasnt ben taking her milk or food as much as she should.... i am soooo tired today, still, i have antibiotics for her so fingers crossed tonight should be a bit better. Great way to spend Bankholiday at Nhs DIRECT!!!!!

Hows everyones weekend been ?

newmum21 · 28/08/2006 15:34

thanks jaysecond, thought i was a bit mad feeling the way i do? my weekend hasn't been too bad for a change, for the past 12 weeks i've literally spent the weekends in bed not being able to do anything, so now im 13 weeks and feeling really good spent the weekend cleaning and tidying up feeling like mother hen building a nest and unfortunately on this bank holiday im at work... not fun at all, i didnt get much sleep last night either, normally i never have a problem but for some reason just felt so uncomfortable couldnt get to sleep at all! Oh dear hope she's feeling a bit better today, definately not a fun way to be spending bank holiday? how old is your dd? how far along with your second are you now?

Jaysecond · 28/08/2006 15:52

Newmum, DD is almost 7 months , i am 12 weeks into this pregnant, so the are going to be close together! Am sat at the moment watching the 'rolymoly show' with her.....great!

What a wonderful invention the laptop is, i can surf and supervise all at the same time!
