hi Diva - yes, it seems a pretty controversial story line... good old EastEnders, only they can put that out! Well they have me hooked on it again, if any thing because it feels fairly relevant right now.
Good on you not taking the scanning / tests - frankly I dont know what I would do with a "high risk" result, but would die of curiousity if I didnt know....

onilly · 08/09/2006 13:33

Diva....anyway, I wouldnt watch EastEnders right now if I had great dreams to keep me entertained...

annaspanna · 08/09/2006 14:03

Hello all. Long time no post. Have tried to keep up with whats happening but no internet access at work so have to wait for DS to go to bed before i can log on.

Diva - you sound like me. I'm off the fags now completely for 6 days but i went down to 2 a day. Can't stop eating. It's really getting me down now because i put 4 stone on last time. Big mama!! And i too stopped watching Eastenders a few months ago. Watched the soap since day one and would have called myself an expert!! It was Sonia the umpa-lumpa kissing that woman that finally did it for me along with that horrible bloke who hung around with Joe & was after Big mo. Bring back sexy Grant! Can't believe I've weaned myself off but you lot are intriguing me to find out whats happeningAnyway...

Scan a week today. Don't feel too positive about it but don't know why. Sure i've felt movement. Almost positive. Maybe i'm more than 12 half weeks. Headaches & MS gone. Feel very low tho as if everyone hates me!! Anyone else got pg paranoia? Cried last night trying to find something for work that would fit me!!! Feel fat fat fat!!! I'll be OK when its obvious its a baby in there not all the crisps I'm scoffing.

annaspanna · 08/09/2006 14:04

I'm off work hence the post before 7.30pm if you're wondering what I'm gabbling on about

tidyjane · 08/09/2006 14:21

Annaspanna I'm feeling exactly the same. I'm convinced that if I took the fat off there wouldn't be a bump.
Anyway my scan is at 3.15pm, I wish it was this morning as I wouldn't have had to worry about it all that time.
I concentrated my attention on trying to potty train my dd which resulted in 6 accidents and 7 pairs of knickers. Not very encouraging.
That kept my mind off it for a while though.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed and trying to stay positive but can't help feeling slightly sick with worry.
Thanks to everyone for your good luck messages, I'll keep you posted.

Booboobedoo · 08/09/2006 14:38

Good luck Tidyjane: sure it will all be fine

SassiLils: I did have sexy dreams when I first got pregnant, but now I'm having really angry ones about slapping teenagers round the face.

Might possibly have something to do with the fact that I go back to teaching tomorrow morning.

Keep waking up feeling horribly guilty, and thinking someone will someone find out and I'll have to quit teaching.

Still sick as dog. Will it never end?

EDD 3/3/06
14+5

SassiLils · 08/09/2006 15:53

Hi everyone, feel a bit of a fraud being on this bit now as i'm sue in Feb! anyways going to stay for a little while longer if nobody minds??

Booboobedoo you made me laugh about your teenager slapping dream (smile) mine vary between very erotic (didn't know I could be that rude!!) to dreaming about giving birth to giant hamsters or every ex-boyfriend I have ever had being the father..these are more like nightmares, as all my ex's were evil!

Diva, good to hear that you make yourself blush too (blush)

Has anyone had a blood test yet re: downs?? I'm not sure what happens. Was told by MW to call and make appointment when know i'm 16 weeks. called this morning after having scan confirming dates and was told that her clinic is full! feel a bit more anxious this time about Downs...was 26 when last pg and mw advised against it, this time i'm 33, almost 34 and I'm more concerned. Didn't help that my daughter asked to watch Eastenders last night...something that I never watch and lo and behold it had a Downs story line!! didn't impove my insomina any last night.

SassiLils · 08/09/2006 15:54

not very good at this lark!! how come my smiles don't work????

SassiLils · 08/09/2006 15:55

sussed it now :0

morocco · 08/09/2006 16:12

it might be worth doing a bit of research first on the blood tests, I know so many people who have worried themselves for 5 motnhs unnecessarily because the percentages were not in their favour. I've decided not to bother this time round. I'd have done the nuchal if it was free but couldn't be bothered enough to pay for it in the end. que sera sera etc

dixia · 08/09/2006 17:35

tidyjane, any news? Hope it went well XXX

divastrop · 08/09/2006 17:39

i only had the blood tests the first time when i had no idea what they were for.after that i decided against them but would've had the scan as well if they were available where i am.i'd never really thought about it,i just automatically refused the tests, now im getting paranoid cos of this eastenders thing, and honey is only young.mind you,i dont think any1's ever had a normal pregnancy in that programme since it started!

TheBlonde · 08/09/2006 17:42

Wow so many posts to read...

themum - nuchal is done between 11 weeks to 13 + 6

CVS info if anyone is interested nhs_cvs

Also having crazy dreams here - last night I was shooting people, night before I was on holiay with Peter Andre & Simon Cowell!!

divastrop · 08/09/2006 17:42

i also had some very freaky 'who's the father?' dreams about dd2 last yr when i was pg.in one of them it turned out to be ronald mcdonald!

fatfox · 08/09/2006 18:21

Hi folks - I've been bleeding today and am very worried

Bled with DD but it was accompanied by sharp stabbing pains in the cervix and turned out to be cervical erosion. Last year, I miscarried and bled for a week before it became anything substantial. The thing that worries me is that I felt very hormonal during that pre-MC week and that's how I feel now - very sore boobs, sensitive abdomen, very nausious. I'm really worried

Themum- nuchal scans have to be done by 13+6 weeks at the latest or they are not valid. Is it a nuchal you want? If so, I'd call them again on Monday morning and be very insistent. I find tears always help in these situations

Sassilils - I've had two orgasms during very rude dreams this pregnancy! I'd read about that in books but its the first time I'd experienced it. I was pleasently surprised when I awoke

Tidy- how did your scan go?

I saw Eastenders. I think its good to include the story but I found it a bit implausable when both Billy and Honey said "ooh, I've never even met anyone with Downs" !!! Lets see how it turns out -I hear its going to be quite a positive storyline, once they've got their heads round it.

Sorry if I've missed anyone - feeling a bit spaced out with worry and have got to go ad collect DS now from his friends house, whose Mum is PG. Have to try not to burst into tears.

I was helping in DD's nursery this morning when I noticed the bleed and burst into tears. Had to hide in the cupboard so the children wouldn't see.

kittywits · 08/09/2006 18:38

Fatfox how awful for you
listen, you've had your 12 week scan didn't you and everything was fine. It's SOOOOOO unlikely that it's anything serious at this stage. God though, how awful for you. What are you going to do now, will you have to wait until Monday? These things always happen at the bloody weekend .
I bet it's fine, maybe too much nookie and funny dreams? with you on the saucy dreams, no nookie though . keep us posted, sending you hugs xx
12+2

kittywits · 08/09/2006 18:41

laidbackin asia, sorry didn't see your question! yes there is stiil a very crowded and chaotic primark in Brighton !!

Rosylily · 08/09/2006 19:02

Hi everyone, loads to keep up with here!

I used to work with the downs syndrome association. New parents would come in very shocked. It would be good to know in advance I suppose but I am not going to bother with the tests. I loved working with the kids so it wouldn't be the end of the world but it would be hard work I guess.

I am very hungry too but still not enthusiastic about eating most of the time. I wish my stomach could just be injected with food so I would feel full without bothering to make or eat it! This is not like me, I love my dinners!

Last night I brought everything up and had an awful headache apparently that can happen at first with accupuncture. I felt dreadful! So now I am dreading my next appointment! I feel really sorry for you poor things who throw up with the ms. Its awful! And I'm not sleeping enough to have saucy dreams, feel left out!

Looking forward to hear how the scans go. I think its natural to feel anxious. I was nervous. Maybe there will be more twins discovered! 13wks 6

Rosylily · 08/09/2006 19:12

Fatfox, if you have had a cervical erosion before does it make you more prone again?

Also, My boobs are only getting swollen, sore and sensitive now at this stage. My sister-in-law bled for weeks last pregnancy never found out why but turned out ok. I hope you can find out soon and that everything will be alright.

tidyjane · 08/09/2006 19:40

Fatfox I hope that everything will be ok, sometimes women still bleed all the way through their pregnancy don't they?
And thanks for asking about me despite your worry.

I'm pleased to say that the scan went well, I saw my little baby waving at me and boucing away which was lovely. I am 11+2 as opposed to 12+4 as they originally thought. But I wasn't surprised as my cycles are normally really long and my ovulation ocurred 26 days after the first day of my period.
I told them that and they said: "that's the best piece of information you could have given us!!".

It's now due on the 28th of March so I'm just in.
My 2 year old dd embarassed me slightly as she passed wind and said out loud: "I've just farted", it was hilarious!!
They did the nuchal test (with my permission) and apparently I'm quite low risk for Down's (1 in 3016 or something).

I am relieved.

DollyP · 08/09/2006 19:45

Hello everyone

Fatfox, I am so sorry to hear your news. Why don't you go to the emergency gynae dept at your hospital? They are usually open 24/7 and may be able to put your mind at rest. Last week when i went with my pains etc, they shone a torch up my fanny and could tell me that the cervix was closed (good) but inflamed. If you went, they would be able to see where exactly the blood was coming from. I think hormonal surges are quite common at the beginning, which would explain the sudden increase in your symptoms. If you think about the no of us who have had MS getting better, then worse, then better again, that would all be due to hormone surges. I would at least phone them as they may be able to give you some advice. As Kitty says, if you have had a scan and seen a heartbeat, the chances of something going wrong are low. Take care honey and let us know how you get on. XXXXX

Tidy Jane - any news? Hope all is well.

No erotic dreams here at the moment. Am comatose within minutes of hitting the pillow. Now looking forward to a nice weekend of DH looking after DD while I rest. I have to go to St Thomas's for more tests but am not too worried as my stomach pains are a lot less severe.

Have a nice weekend everyone and put your feet up XXXXX

divastrop · 08/09/2006 19:53

fatfox-hope everything is ok,im sure it will be x

[BLUSH] I had heavy cold 2 wks ago & am left with a cough & coughing up the worst tar filled phlegm you ever did see. It's made me sick in fact. No tips Diva cus you don't really wanna get a cold when your PG do you? You just need a distraction.
