Fatfox, I was debating going to the meet up but as I didn't "know" anyone I thought I might feel a bit of a tit sitting in the corner on my own . Some of the other threads can be terribly clique-y and if you're not in with the in crowd (which I am not, being a fairly new girl), you can feel insignificant to say the least. However, if some of you loverly laydeez from this thread are going, I would love to go. And I definitely think we should have a few pre birth meet ups in central london. Still feeling too pants to go out and about at the moment (plus am signed off work so can't really go out partying) but would love to meet you guys once I'm back on top form.

Am I the only woman on the thread who is not craving [hide your ears laidback) s and v crisps? My local superdrug does s and v french fries, and I can't wait til I feel like eating them. Haven't seen worcesters anywhere though. M and S count on us s and v fries are a good substitute for FF if you can't source the originals.

Boo boo - have you discovered "merry go round" in herne hill? New and v good quality second hand clothes etc for you and bambino. I pop in there quite regularly. And the added bonus is that you can go to the deli for coffee, or even No 22 for a small something to help the shopping go with a bang...

Only had 3 hours sleep last night so am off back to bed. Be back on later. It's a lovely day here - hope you are all feeling well and happy. XXXXX

Booboobedoo · 06/09/2006 10:01

Morning.

DollyP: I live just across the park from Half Moon Lane, but haven't been into Merry-go-round yet: been too sick to cope with shopping. Think I might pop there today, though, as I start back to work on Saturday, and nothing fits me any more. Didn't know they did seconds: that's good to know!

I spend far too much in Mimosa though.

Fatfox, my BF lives in Nunhead! Right near Peckham Common: it's up-and-coming, apparently. Nice and family-friendly.

I don't have a crisps addictions either. Ate loads of Wotsits in the car on the way to Scotland and... well... you don't want to hear the rest. Suffice it to say I went off day-glo orange food pretty terminally.

DollyP - I know what you mean - I'm a bit worried about being Billie no-mates at the Christmas meet up too! I know there will be some mum's from my west London thread attending; but I'd like to know I'm not the only PG one as I don't want to be the damp squid - unable to get plastered etc.

I'm coming over to SE London on 16 Sept - to Eltham actually, but will be going via Peckham/Lewisham route if anyone fancies meeting for a vomit, I mean coffee - or a run around a local play area. Our appointment is at 4.15 and will take about 30 minutes so we could do before or after. Anyone up for it, let me know

Rosylily · 06/09/2006 11:21

You guys are all so central and togetherish! Not fair, anyone want to meet up in Belfast for crisp sandwiches?.... Didn't think so. Laidback I go to Pakistan a bit and its very organic there but I could never live there! I need my western luxuries to survive. So you have my admiration.

I had my scan done by the handsome doctor! We got a good view because, trick of the trade, I drank gallons of water before hand so bladder was full which helps apparently.

fatfox · 06/09/2006 11:38

Rosylily - a good view of what - the scan or the handsome doctor?

fatfox · 06/09/2006 13:41

Its a bit quiet on here today.

I'm having a shite day by the way:

overslept by 30 mins this morning
Fell down the stairs 3 minutes after jumping out of bed
Got to work late and couldn't find a decent parking space
Feel exhausted and have a boring meeting this arvo
Have overwhelming craving for Walkers raedy salted crisps and can't get out of the office to buy any

divastrop · 06/09/2006 13:50

shame on all u ladies discussing handsome docs/sonographers!
the crisp thing has gone the other way for me,i was addicted to s+v crisps before i got pg,now ive gone off them.
well,im 13 weeks today(i think,im still confused)so officially in the 2nd trimester.
if its anything like the last times then im due to start putting on 4lb a week about now.ive never found maternity jeans that were comfy,i must just be a strange shape or something, but i had to wear hipster jeans in a larger size done up under my bump last time, with a maternity top obviously,im not into showing off my flab and stretch marks.
kittywits, how did u find time to go on here in the morning b4 school?im always running round like a loony from 6.30am onwards.but im not very organised.
take care everyone

trace2 · 06/09/2006 13:57

Piffle and boo, hope you are well, not seen piff about for a while

kittywits · 06/09/2006 14:15

Well, I put the breakfasts on, made a cuupa and had a quick peep. The kids are still on holiday time sothey were fast asleep. I can get alot done when they bare not around!

True to form I have developed a need for cheese. usually in sandwiches. Also fancy prawns. No crisps really, just cheese, tomatoes and ham.

Hello Trace2, how it going with you?

morocco · 06/09/2006 15:05

afternoon all
can I just say how useful it is when people put their 'weeks' on the bottom of the mail - can you all do it please??? Sadly, I have to confess it is the only way I have any idea at all where I am at with this pregnancy and it's embarrassing to keep getting it so wrong when people ask me. I'm relying on you!
I was good today and instead of getting a bar of chocolate or packet of crisps to go with my lunch, I got a banana. it's still sitting on my desk looking not very appealing. I used to be so healthy!
when do you arrive back laidbackinasia? Can't be long now. I would love to visit sri lanka. I had quite a few friends who worked out there and loved it and we always meant to go one day. tell me some bad stuff about it so I don't feel too jealous!
just had a class and one of my iranian students was telling me she got flogged once for going out with a bloke. Shocking. I was really upset for her. Isn't that awful? (sorry - nothing to do with pregnancy I suppose except that I am super sensitive to sad stories atm)

LaidbackinAsia · 06/09/2006 16:02

Hi morocco - I arrive back Saturday night .... Come visit - it is great here - the people are lovely, the living is cheap and we're just starting to build a house .

On the downside, there are no conveniences of modern life. No rubbish collection, everything smells of mildew after about a month, CDs and books rot and there are lots of spiders /scorpions /mosquitos /snakes .... and don't get me started on the bureacracy ..

Apart from that its fab

STOP TALKING ABOUT CRISPS AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH !

Hi ladies
Some of might rember me , iwas on this thread but unfortantly lost my bean 3 weeks ago, Just wanted to drop back to see how you are doing, glad that its all good!!!!!

i am really good and really quite positive about it all, am waiting for a normal cycle then will be at it again!!!

Will be watching out for you over the next 6 months!!!! xx

trace2 · 06/09/2006 16:10

hi kittywits am back trying again now, thank you for asking, i do still lurk here to see how you all are, so glad you all ok, (and your little beans)

Booboobedoo · 06/09/2006 16:34

Hi Trace & Pinky! Nice to hear from you (but you know I've been popping onto your (apparently highly controversial) ttc thread.

Fatfox: sorry you're having a crap day. Not long 'til home time! 16th sounds nice, but it's only be my 2nd Saturday back at work, and I think I'll need to sleeeeep.

When we're all feeling a bit perkier I'd love a meet-up, though.

Hi kittywits. That 'f*ck I'm fat' thread was interesting, wasn't it? It's something I'm really interested in, having always battled with my weight (and finally managing to lose and keep it off with Weightwatchers). I'm fighting hrd to stay serene about weight gain in this pregnancy, as I'm so use to keeping such a tight reign on it. I know lots of women still can to a certain extent, but my MS has meant that I have had virtually no control over what I put into my mouth (until now), and was totally sedentary for 7 weeks. Feeling lardy, but trying not to care.

kittywits · 06/09/2006 16:44

keepign fingers and toes crossed for you Trace2 and pinkranger.

booboobedoo, yes it was an interesting thread, I shall keep an eye on it!

DollyP · 06/09/2006 17:12

Trace and Pinkranger - it's great to see you . Hope you are both doing ok and that you get some good news soon. BTW, I don't know if it works but I have some preseed which I bought before I got PG. I used 1 vial but there are about 5 left. If either of you want them, please CAT me your address and i'll pop them in the post. Also got an Isis scope but never got a fern on the sodding thing! If you would like that, please let me know (you may of course already have one).

Fatfox . Hope your day has improved. Would love to see you on 16th but have family coming over (assuming I'm not clutching a bucket) as it's my birthday that weekend. The London massive must do a meet up soon though.

I hope Piffle is OK as she's not been around for a while. Boo my love, we know you are safe in Herne Hill .

Rosy, how much do you have to drink and how do you stop a bit of wee escaping when they press on your tummy? Are you a Dr by the way?

Good luck for your journey Laidback. Are you a Dr too? Morocco your story is shocking about that poor woman. I know what you mean about being easily upset. I cry at EVERYTHING at the moment. That would upset me in a non pg state though.

Hope you are OK today Kitty .

A big hello and a wave to all those I've missed. Nothing personal - just keep rolling the thread up and down to keep up with it and my brain can't remember much!

XXXXX

kittywits · 06/09/2006 17:29

I'm ok thankyou pissed off with another mother in the playground . It actually took a seven year old friend of my 2 ds's to point out that she was very "over protective" of her son! Ah the wisdom of the very young! I really hate the school playground stuff, gives me palpatations. Anyone else get like that?

kittywits · 06/09/2006 17:41

I think I've accidently gate crashed a Victoria beckham appreciation club on the " is victoria beckham pregnant" thread. Oops!!

Rosylily · 06/09/2006 17:49

no i am not intelligent or hard working enough to be a dr. I have just had a few scans in my time! There is a notice up on the wall in the hospital. I just drank one bottle of water and the handsome dr said nice full bladder thats great. It would be a bit embarrassing to wee! eek! I felt ok though.

I found it really hard to lose the weight last time and I think it was because my baby had excema and sleep problems and I was really stressed from sleep deprivation for a year which messed up my metabolism. I finally lost most of it by cheating and getting ill with tummy bug while in Pakistan where also I couldn't get any chocolate or crisps. Once off it was easy to keep it off and be active. I usually put 3 stone on when pregnant. I'm trying not to go mad this time and be positive that I will lose it again and going to feel great when slim again!

How awfull about flogged girl. I guess that kind of thing happens in pakistan too but I never came across such a thing.

pinkranger · 06/09/2006 17:59

Hi Dolly
I would Love the preseed please but i dont have CAT, Dont know hoe to do this yet , My email is [email protected] , I will send you my address, Thank you Dolly xxxx

divastrop · 06/09/2006 19:37

im glad im not the only one whos worried about getting fat,i put on 3 stone in each of my last 2 pgs and lost the excess within 4 months each time but i still worry it'll be like my first where i just stay fat after....saying that i did get pg again when ds1 was 2 months old.
do ppl actually care if posh spice is pregnant?the newspapers and celeb mags will just depress us real women by printing pictures of her leaving the hospital in size 4 jeans.

what happened in the playground, kitty?we dont get many arguments btwn mums in the playground where i am,theres just this group of mums who go to bingo together and live on the same estate who stand around whispering and giving dirty looks like a bunch of 12 yr olds.

13 wks(?)

TheBlonde · 06/09/2006 19:47

Hi all
I'm trying to avoid gaining too much weight with this pg as I haven't lost the weight from the last one
Looking forward to getting a baby bump though as at the moment I just look like I've got fatter!

It finally feels like we're relaxing a bit on this thread

I can't believe there's a thread about whether VB is pregnant?? Tell me it's no so..

I was terrified of putting on weight with dd, but due to horrible sickness and only making it til 37wks, I was actually thinner after birth than I was before conception . Kind of hoping I'll be as lucky (???) this time around, but I was a bit heavier to begin with this time.

Whoever asked (baby brain!), I had dd at the Portland last year with the Midwife Led Team and it was wonderful. Will be seeing the same ladies this time, and really looking forward to catching up with them again.

novadandypowder · 06/09/2006 20:50

oh - 11wks today

kittywits · 06/09/2006 20:56

Ah Diva, this mum of precious and I mean precious only son said to ds2 (6) "haven't you got something to say?"
he said "sorry" and I tried to find out what had happened. She said her son was being nice to mine by handing back his book back and instead of thanking him for his kindness and kind deed my son hit him with it!!!! ( not funny, no)
I said to mother that it wouldn't have been meant to be nasty and that my kids are always hitting each other with bookbags and other objects.
She mumbled something the same as she had already done and walked off.
Now I couldn't give a damn what the alledged crime was it was the fact that with me standing there she went up to my child and demanded an apology, bypassing me completely. I was confused for a few moments after she walked off and it was only then that I understood the situation and was well pissed off. If my kid's have done something 'naughty' then the parent should speak to ME not my children!! I am still a bit mad , but calm myself with the fact that she is a mad old bint. How would any of you feel if that happened? Am I being silly?
