Thank you Somerset for helping me feel normal. I keep feeling like a spoiled brat but I can't help it if I feel rubbish :( how exciting that you saw the heartbeat! Can I ask why u has an early scan? I should feel lucky that I actually haven't been sick so far and I'm 8+1. Will look on the bright side :)

Try not to worry about those 3 days. Is it possible that you got your last af date wrong? I'm sure everything's still fine. Did you have quite long af cycles that might be another reason

Chillychicken, with the exception of the constipation, I have exactly the same symptons, up until earlier this week and now the nausea seems to be constantly with me, I'm 6+4. Ginger biscuits are not helping in the slightest, the only thing that does seem to help slightly is mints but I can't keep eating those!

I'm going to ask about an early scan when I see the midwife next Friday for 2 reasons, one I was told that you should have one when you have conceived with Clomid and two there is a higher chance of twins both at my age and with Clomid, plus my sister told me that I was looking pregnant last night and had a round tummy and that she bet me I had twins. If they don't offer to send me to the EPU then I am going to talk to DH to get a private scan done, for my peace of mind.

If it is twins, happy days, means I only have to go through the pregnancy and labour thing once and our family will be complete in one go Grin

Oh I feel the same Emily - I spend most of my time complaining about something nowadays Wink I wonder how long it will take before I start annoying myself haha. I wanted an early scan just for some reassurance - someone told me that the risk of miscarriage goes down to 5% if there's a heartbeat at 8 weeks, not sure if it's true but it's made me feel a bit better! The woman doing the scan said that ovulation could have been later than I thought or it could have just implanted later, so she said don't worry Smile it was one of those things though, she asked me after measuring the bubba how far along I thought I was and it reminded me of Marley and me, where she says "it's not what you'd expect to see at 8 weeks" and it made me really scared, I thought she was going to tell me that it had stopped growing weeks ago or something!

kittykatzxoxo · 25/04/2014 15:12

I know me too! I REFUSE to become one of those people who constantly post whiney Facebook status' about it, and then once the baby is born constantly post pictures and updates. Even though I do that with my dog haha Confused but she's cute so I'm sure everyone loves it!

KateJ28 · 25/04/2014 18:53

Treacle - are you going to have a reassurance scan?! I'm sure it's all fine, but might be worth it to reassure you?!

I know what people mean about being a grumpy force to reckon with. I did another test this morning just because I hadn't done a digi one and wanted to see what it said (granted I have done about 8 tests in total, but still can't quite believe it) and went to show DH in bed and he told me I was being ridiculous and to stop wasting the earth's resources. Honestly I nearly ate him for breakfast I was so pissed off with him!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Treaclepie19 · 25/04/2014 18:54

I am going to one way or another. Going to the doctors Tuesday and gp may refer me, if not then we are booking one.

KateJ28 · 25/04/2014 18:56

That sounds good - I hope they refer you and I hope the gp is nicer this time...are you seeing the same one?

Treaclepie19 · 25/04/2014 19:01

Thanks kate :) me too.
I'm not sure :( it'll be whoever I can get on the day.

Somersetgirl1990 · 25/04/2014 19:08

So it's it's our anniversary today and were going out for a meal, to a place that do amazing steaks. I normally eat mine medium-rare but when I'm cooking them myself will literally chip bits off and eat it raw. If I have steak, how well done does it have to be? Don't think I could bear the thought of it being any more cooked than medium, but don't know if that's still not good enough?

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 25/04/2014 19:58

Somerset your steak talk reminded me... Last night we went out for dinner and DH had a steak, and something inside me wanted a bite, so he gave me a piece of edge bit so it was well-cooked. It was bloody delicious. Oh, did I mention that I've been a vegetarian for twenty years..? What's all that about, then?? :P

Treaclepie19 · 25/04/2014 20:43

somerset, I'm not sure about steak to be honest! Sorry :(

On another note... I have never been so pleased that my boobs are hurting!!! :)

SassehMonsta · 25/04/2014 20:54

(going to cheat and copy & paste from other Dec thread!)

Went for scan today - not twins! Hurrah! ;) Husband was going to berate his father if it was (he has twin half siblings already!). yes we know it doesn't run in the male side of the family but his dad wouldn't & neither of us get on with him!

Dated as 6+4, so 2 days behind what I'd thought originally, but I can live with that. Strong heartbeat, but baby kept wanting to hide (I blame the father, such an introvert!), so measured in at 7mm. This brings my due date to the 16th Dec - eeeek! :D

Told my parents, their reaction was brilliant. Mum got a massie smile and waited for dad to open his (he was being sloooowww) and his reaction was "oh, what?!" followed by a re-reading and a "seriously?!" Both super happy, and mum gave me a pregnancy book from pre-my-birth (over 26 years old!). Will be interesting to see what differences the reccomendations are ;)

Picture attached is scan of heartbeat, the line with the arrow shows it as it throbs - could see it flicering stongly on the screen __

Santa's bringing us a baby! Due December 2014! First time mummies!
KateJ28 · 25/04/2014 21:08

That's AMAZING Sasseh - much have been so exciting for you both!! Imagine what it'll be like at 12 weeks when you can actually see a baby :)

Treaclepie19 · 25/04/2014 21:13

Eek congrats!!! So glad your parents were excited and all is well :)

SassehMonsta · 25/04/2014 21:14

Ahhh! I know! Friend went in directly after me and was dated at 9 weeks, her scan is amazing, especially the difference in just over 2 weeks!

It put all my fears to rest, and hopefully things will stay positive. I am actually really starting to feel like I can be hopeful for the future and plan more. My parents have loads of stuff from when me and my siblings were small in the attic, so don't need to worry about things like cot, moses basket, bouncers, pushchair, and selection of clothes (2 girls & 2 boys, a nice choice!). Not to mention toys & books! And possibly a backpack for carrying baby in when 6+ months :)

Super excited!

Treaclepie19 · 25/04/2014 21:26

Sounds brilliant :) so happy that you can relax a bit and get excited :) can't wait til I can haha.

Somersetgirl1990 · 25/04/2014 23:02

Yay Sasseh that's great!! Grin

KateJ28 · 25/04/2014 23:04
