treaclepie so sorry to hear about your experience yesterday, unfortunately there are some doctors out there who have no people skills. Don't be afraid to ask for a different gp next time if there is another one available.
My mum swapped hers because he wouldn't refer her to the hospital and she knew something was wrong. Eventually the next doctor did straight away and couldn't believe the treatment she'd had.

Hope you are feeling better today.

KateJ28 · 23/04/2014 10:23

Hi!! What's your EDD vc7? Sounds like you're a bit ahead of some of us - hope the midwife appt goes well!

Is everybody on here having their first baby?! I am Smile

Treaclepie19 · 23/04/2014 10:56

Thanks everyone, I feel better now thanks.

I think as it's not sharp pain and no red blood hopefully it's ok but I'm going back next week and if im still not happy hopefully I'll get an early scan. She said we could scan from 6 weeks.
Don't feel pregnant today apart from a little nausea bit my tests are still dark. Must stop worrying!

Somersetgirl1990 · 23/04/2014 11:08

Welcome new ladies Grin hope everyone's not feeling too sicky today, I had a horrible night last night, I think it was because I had work and didn't get an afternoon nap in Wink
Just booked a reassurance scan for Friday morning - really worried there's gonna be nothing there but I've always thought even if the worst happens if rather know sooner than later so fingers crossed! My DP keeps telling me I'm really gloomy but I think realistic is a better word haha!

Treaclepie19 · 23/04/2014 11:10

I feel the same! If we don't get an early nhs scan, we're booking a private one.
Hope all goes well for you :)

KateJ28 · 23/04/2014 11:16

How did you guys go booking your reassurance scans?! Did you just look it up on the internet?

Hope you feel better soon Somersetgirl Smile - I've not had any sickness yet, but perhaps still too early...I'm not 5 weeks yet. Hopefully that's the case anyway, and it's not something to worry about. Guess I should just enjoy feeling sick free for now! xx

Treaclepie19 · 23/04/2014 11:19

I've just looked online. Don't worry kate, I don't feel much different to normal today.

I think sickness is from about 6 weeks? I'm 5w today :)

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 23/04/2014 12:23

Treacle love that you and I are on exactly the same dates! I'm five weeks today too :)
In other news, isn't Fybogel vile??

EmilyPinkOrBlue · 23/04/2014 13:48

Hi ladies I feel awful that I abandoned my own thread for a while but now I'm back!! How is everyone??

Treacle do I recognise you from the bfp due end match/early April conception thread? Your name looks familiar!

over Easter ive been busy renovating our house! A bit more quickly now we are having a baby!

I had my first midwife appt on Tuesday I was so nervous it was silly! But mostly because I HATE needles and blood tests. I managed to get out of it as I was petrified and said I would prefer to go to the hospital and do it. They are experts. Plus I always faint an I HATE that feeling! But it's going to have to be done I know!! So it's been put off till my next day off in 2 weeks time! And then The midwife is coming to see me at home when I'm about 11+2. She said I would get a letter for the first scan and that it would be between when I'm 11.5 and 13.5 weeks. I hope it's not the latter!!!

EmilyPinkOrBlue · 23/04/2014 13:54

Oh and midwife said my edd is 3rd dec not 4th but dating scan will tell all!!

Do I remember reading a bit earlier that people have gone off chocolate? I have big time I am normally such a chocoholic but I think where I am SO hungry I want real food that's filling rather than snacky foods if that makes sense?

I commute to london full time I'm in a real dilemma about what I want to do at end of maternity leave. I'd love to be a sahm but I earn more than my partner so just living on my oh's wage will be SO tight - anyone else in same situation??

OP posts:
Peaceloveandbiscuits · 23/04/2014 14:04

Emily we don't rely on my wage but it certainly helps top us up, and we've recently agreed to rent a more expensive house, so I am gutted I might not be able to afford to stay at home like I want to. I do only work three days though, so it might be doable. Feels like I'm getting ahead of myself!

KateJ28 · 23/04/2014 14:18

I earn about the same, or a little more than my DH too, and we couldn't afford our mortgage on his wage alone, so I'll be going back, though may be able to see if I could cut down to p/t. We'll see. Just don't know how I'll feel - I love my job and not sure I could manage being at home every day, but my work is high pressure, so not sure how I'll manage to juggle both.... As you say Peace, it feels a bit early to think about these things - focus is on making sure baby is well & all looks gd first..

(although saying that, I'm off work today, and keep getting sidetracked by pg website and sites like this... www.tiffanyrose.com/maternity/clothes/new.html - lush!)

Somersetgirl1990 · 23/04/2014 14:19

Kate - I just looked online too and then filled in the online form and she rang me this morning to book an appointment Smile looking forward to it but so nervous!!
Emily - when I went to see my midwife she said they would do bloods when I went for my 12 week scan so I've got that to look forward to, I've only ever had my blood taken once and I hate it! I think it's the thought of it that makes it much worse, I'm terrified of needles. I went off chocolate - very briefly though Smile it tasted really weird for a bit and i was quite excited at the thought of not wanting it for 9 months. It's all fine now, so I can pig out as much as I like. I've found that I'm loving mash potato even more now than before, it's one of the only foods that doesn't make me feel ill after eating Grin

KateJ28 · 23/04/2014 15:08

That's exciting Somersetgirl! When is the appt and how many weeks will you be?! I'm thinking of booking one for 2-3 wks time, but it feels like tempting fate, I feel like I should wait a few more weeks!

natashaarr · 23/04/2014 15:20

Hi all Smile, I found out yesterday I'm pregnant!! Due around the 25th December (ahhhhh!!) that would be a year after my miscarriage. I'm so happy I'm pregnant but I'm so scared! This will be my first baby and this time we aren't telling anyone until 12 weeks! I'm not seeing my GP until Tuesday (ill be 6 weeks) and then I suppose she will refer me to the midwife. I have no idea how long that takes? I'm just worrying and wants scan already to make sure everything's ok! Congratulations on all of your pregnancies!

Somersetgirl1990 · 23/04/2014 15:46

It's on Friday at 9.30 - I'll be 8+1, time feels like it's going so slowly! But I thought that about 8 weeks would be the best time, I've got another midwife appt in 2 weeks and then hopefully my 12 week scan another 2 weeks after that so breaks it up into chunks Smile

LisaC2611 · 23/04/2014 16:03

Hi everyone

I dropped off the page for a little while but I've tried to have a catch up on all the goings on.

Congratulations to all the newly pg's.

Has anyone else been desperate to tell people that they are pg? We'd been trying for 2 years for this baby and a lot of people knew that we were having issues conceiving, but now that I've got my bean in my belly I'm dying to tell everyone, even though I've sworn dh, dm and ds to secrecy.

My sore boobs are starting to ease now thankfully, although I am starting to feel icky, but thankfully haven't yet been sick!

Treaclepie19 · 23/04/2014 16:41

I know Peaceandlove it's awesome having a date buddy :)

emily yeah I've been on the buses since December :)

I am hoping to be a SAHM. We have sorta worked out money. I'm the bigger wage earner but DH's wage is increasing. I'm desperate to stay home though.

Just hope Little Seed is ok. My sore boobs have gone off. Only been a bit bloated today. Did have a nap bit had been out for a big meal. Still had some cramps though. It's so worrying!

Somersetgirl1990 · 23/04/2014 16:55

I've had quite a few days where I've felt really crampy, not massively painful, just sort of like weak period pains but apparently it's normal!

EmilyPinkOrBlue · 23/04/2014 16:58

Congratulations treacle!! So lovely to see a familiar face!!! How exciting!

Ditto with the sahm opinion! I would love to stay at home. I wouldn't even mind having less money but I really don't think we could cope on just oh's wages unless his work is kind and give him a bit of a pay rise for having a child? Here's hoping!!

Treaclepie19 · 23/04/2014 17:24

Thanks emily :)
It will be a struggle for us but I am determined to try and make it work.

Fingers crossed for you haha :)

chillychicken · 23/04/2014 17:39

emily I'm a familiar face too, just with a name change Wink Happy to PM you though if you want to know lol

I'm off food. Well, actually, I can just about stomach salt and vinegar crisps and some chocolate. Oh and baked beans. I am finding it all a bit of a struggle though. Still getting cramps as well. I just keep reminding myself that it'll all be worth it. No vomitting yet but all day sickness instead. Lovely.

7 weeks tomorrow and I'm probably imagining it but I appear to have a tiny bump. I'm slim but half a stone heavier than normal but quite low down I can feel a tiny, hard bump starting to form Grin I'm going to be checking it out in the mirror the moment I get home!

Midwife on Monday and still haven't decided about an early scan but I did tell my mum, nan and grandad and the DPIL at the weekend. Grandad is poorly and DFIL is likely to be abroad when 12 week scan takes place so thought it wouldn't hurt to tell them. All over the moon. My Grandad said it's given him something to live for Smile

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 23/04/2014 18:26

I was on the buses from about August-October but then had to take a step back, and have since name changed :)

KateJ28 · 23/04/2014 18:55

sorry, i'm a newbie - what does "on the buses" mean?!

Bettycakes80 · 23/04/2014 19:17

Today I had to go and buy pants one dress size up! Has anyone else put on a ton of weight? I'm 8+2 and a combination of not going to the gym because I'm so tired and constant grazing to stop the nausea plus the bloated feeling means everything feels crazy tight!
