Definitely. My first response line is dark now at 16dpo. Just kicking myself for doing that digi as I'm now worried it's only 1-2 still!

I've had a cold, I think it's our bodies using our energy to look after our little beans :)

We've told our parents and BIL but that's it.

SassehMonsta · 22/04/2014 12:07

Welcome to all the new ladies! Yes, sore boobs and ms are running rampant, I've had to buy a couple of news bras already as man were they painful - and I'm only 6+4 (possibly 7+2, but need dating scan!).

Went to a job interview today and managed to get though it without being sick, but the car journey home I almost threw up on myself :( Booo.

We've told PIL and my sister, and telling my parents after scan on Friday/on Saturday. a few friends know as they are pregnant as well, and both my boss and DH's boss know.

KateJ28 · 22/04/2014 12:33

Good luck with the job interview SassehMonsta - sounds like a big thing to take on moving jobs at the moment, go you! Smile

Do you have your dating scan booked in already?

I'm going to wait until I've been to the docs next week and then I think I will tell my mum and brother...

x

SassehMonsta · 22/04/2014 13:13

Thanks - I probablt won't be able to take the job, as even if I do I'll be eligible for maternity leave but not maternity pay :( Went well though, nice people, but I think they want someone with more managerial experience.

I have an early reassurance scan booked in on Friday. Doctors didn't want to see me, just booked me in for midwife booking in appointment on 12th May!

Somersetgirl1990 · 22/04/2014 14:29

I went to see a midwife last week, not sure if I went too early as I'm only 7+5 now, have another one in a few weeks but she just took my blood pressure, talked me through some things, weighed me and gave me lots of forms to fill in for next time!
On the cheese front - I'm also very confused. Deep fried Brie/Camembert is my favourite meal and I've read it's ok to eat it as Lon as it's cooked, but is there a limit on how much you can eat it? It seems to be one of the only things that doesn't make me feel sick atm and I had it 3 times last week Hmm does anyone know if it's something that is ok to eat a lot of or should it be avoided even when cooked? I eat it with salad though so at least I'm getting some goodness! Grin

KateJ28 · 22/04/2014 17:52

I say eat away the cooked cheese!! This is what is says on the NHS website:

"Thorough cooking should kill any bacteria, so it should be safe to eat cooked soft cheeses or dishes that contain them, such as baked brie or deep-fried camembert. Hard blue cheeses such as stilton are safe to eat without cooking."

Somersetgirl1990 · 22/04/2014 18:24

Brilliant - I know what I'm having for dinner! Grin

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 22/04/2014 19:09

I made broccoli soup today and melted a bit of blue cheese into it - felt very naughty but if the consensus is that if it's cooked it's fair game, then hurray!

Nati2 · 22/04/2014 20:21

Welcome new ladies.

Had my GP appointment today, got referred to the midwife all very exciting, got told I am 6 weeks not 5 so even better.

The nauseous has been trouble today...felt like throwing up today although I didn't, have become very tired in the afternoons. Hmm

God to hear about the brie I love Brie and have been avoiding it all weekend. Smile

KateJ28 · 22/04/2014 21:00

That's exciting Nati2! How come you're further on than you thought?! I've come up with a date based on my last period but am seeing my GP next week so will see what she says!

Nati2 · 22/04/2014 21:21

Apparently I calculated my period wrong and I rechecked my calendar with the doctor and she says 6 weeks. This is her estimation though so we shall see when I have a scan.

How far gone are you KateJ28? When is your EDD?

KateJ28 · 22/04/2014 21:52

Sooo exciting! My my calculation EDD is 27/28 Dec but we'll see if the GP says next week. Looking forward to having the appt - think it might start to feel real then!

Treaclepie19 · 22/04/2014 22:09

Hope it goes better than mine did lol. Mine was upsetting today :/

Good luck everyone with your appointments :)

KateJ28 · 22/04/2014 22:16

Oh no, what happened?!

Somersetgirl1990 · 22/04/2014 22:27

Hope you're ok treacle xxx

Treaclepie19 · 22/04/2014 22:28

Doctor was shit. I came out and burst into tears. She did an internal examination which was so painful I nearly cried then and there. She said basically at this point we don't know what the spotting or pain means. If it gets really sharp go to hospital. She hasn't booked my midwife or anything yet which pissed me off. She wants me to go back next week. If anythings carried on then they'll do a scan.
Basically made me feel like there's no chance. DH says it's not like that but I'm a bit sensitive at the moment.
I've calmed down now but I just felt she wasn't interested on booking things down the line just in case. I don't know :(

Treaclepie19 · 22/04/2014 22:29

Thanks :) I feel better now but it really wasn't what I needed.

Somersetgirl1990 · 22/04/2014 22:36

Oh no how scary for you, hopefully it's nothing and all is well in your belly Smile not the same situation AT ALL but my cat was recently attacked by either a dog or a fox, and it was really touch and go whether he'd pull through - everytime we spoke to the vet I got the impression that the vet was being very pessimistic whereas my dp would be under the impression that everything was going well and I think I was projecting my anxiety into how I was interpreting what he was saying.

KateJ28 · 22/04/2014 22:40

Sounds like she was far from sensitive treacle Sad - surely docs should realise what an important and emotional time this is and be careful how they handle things, grrr... You think you'll get more understanding from a female GP too. Glad you are feeling a bit better now though & hope you're not in too much pain - is it cramps you're having? I've had a few of those and was worried, but have read it's not unusual in early pg while the womb is stretching. Let us know how it goes. xxxxxxxx

Treaclepie19 · 22/04/2014 22:41

Thanks :) Yeah I think you're right. It's hard to not let your worries take over. Fingers crossed all us well and at least they are willing to do an early scan if anythings not right.

Treaclepie19 · 22/04/2014 22:42

Thanks kate, yeah it's cramps and I did have spotting. I also have this constant pressure on the left side of my stomach.
I'll keep you updated :)

railgun · 22/04/2014 23:24

Hi I'm due 19 December and it's my first

Rejjie · 23/04/2014 06:58

Welcome railgun. My EDD is 19th too.

vc7g08 · 23/04/2014 08:26

Hi everyone. Hoping I can join? I'm 7 + 3 with my first baby. So far I've only told my bf and sister (who had her first baby earlier this year). I feel like I'm getting every symptom going, especially the sore boobs and nausea.

Sorry to hear about your first appointment Treacle. Some doctors have no communication skills!

Looking forward to my first midwife appointment, but so nervous about the scan. So good to read about people going through the same things as me :)

Cineraria · 23/04/2014 09:48

Hi, I found out last Thursday that I'm pregnant and the baby is due on Christmas day! I know it's unlikely to arrive on exactly the predicted day but even if not it'll still be the best present ever.

Congratulations to everyone and hope you're feeling better today Treacle. It sounds like you had a rotten day yesterday.
