New thread ladies. I should really leave it to someone who can link the old one. Can someone add the edd list and whatnot? Or maybe we should start again now edds are changing after scan.

carebear I know the feeling well! This morning I only went to the loo, came back to bed and projectile vommed across the bed. Yuck. I'm still waiting for this famous glow to start

CareBearWithFangs · 07/04/2014 08:07

Yep where is the glow? I have no glow, just a permanent scowl and a green tinge to my face. I don't think I've ever been this consistently grumpy in my life. I'm horrible to be around at the moment. I pity my family, I really do.

Loulou888 · 07/04/2014 08:48

The thought of prune juice yuck but I will give it a go thanks trouble. Anything is worth a try

akachan · 07/04/2014 09:54

I'm on the prune juice as well! Working for me. I have a glass in the morning (big glass - 200ml) and I eat a whole large orange at about 3pm and everything seems in order now. I'm assuming the problem is the pregnacare but who knows!

I have my booking in appointment (finally at 12+5) on Thursday. I'm really nervous for some reason, do they just ask some questions and take blood?

hefner · 07/04/2014 11:37

akachan yep they just ask lots of questions about medical history etc, check your height and weight, take bloods and ask you for a urine sample. They will probably check you're taking folic acid, offer some info about foods to avoid, and give you a chance to ask any questions. Nothing scary, just a bit long - allow about an hour.

Loulou888 · 07/04/2014 12:17

Have you got a date for your scan akachan I still haven't I'm 12 weeks today. Things seem to be happening so slowly for some of us

akachan · 07/04/2014 12:55

I have finally! I had to phone and basically beg for it though - I said (which is true) that it's very hard to get time off work and I really need to book the date. I'm on the 14th so I'll be 13+2.

They keep saying they're just so busy which I understand but I wish they'd stop repeating it. I'm now basically certain I'll end up giving birth in a corridor.

diamondbutterfly · 07/04/2014 12:58

How did you get on stigz had my scan and they were only 10 mins late and improvement from last time with dc1 when my scanner was running 45 late. Was 12+ 4 but they put me at 13 weeks. Puts due date at 13tg Oct, closer to dc1 than mine on 20th. I see Oct as being a very expensive month!

Scan was lovely a very wiggly baby but they were able to do all measurements. Got date for 20wk scab, already counting down the days!!!

Sorry to those not feeling their best!! Thanks I've got nausea but no actual sickness

ToffeeJungle · 07/04/2014 13:11

Sorry to hear some of you are feeling sick, yacky and/or down - I can empathise! The sickness has got lots better though I do still retch every so often (not very pleasant at all) and I'm still suffering with a really bad cough as I'm overcoming a chest infection. I also feel fat and unattractive - my hair has gone so greasy, even when I've just washed it it looks like I've stuck my head in a chip pan!! I have zero energy and know I just need to rest but am working part-time plus have an 18 month old so I don't get much chance!

Anyway, I know it is all going to be worth it - can't wait for the 20 weeks scan on 23rd May!

Oh and yes to any recommendations for double prams too - DC1 will be 2 when the new one arrives so we need something suitable... Thanks.

diamondbutterfly · 07/04/2014 13:32

toffee dc1 will also be 2 when bubs arrives, was planning on using pram and sling, please don't say I'm woefully naive! !

Loulou888 · 07/04/2014 13:40

Really difficult diamond I only had 14 months between dc1 and 2 but dc2 hated being in a sling. He got so hot (and so did I) a double buggy was a lifesaver, personally I think slings work better in summer when you both need less clothing.

diamondbutterfly · 07/04/2014 14:02

I meant sling for bubs and pushchair for dc2 sounds so weird saying that! ! Smile

magichandles · 07/04/2014 14:09

I had the Phil & Ted's explorer and got on really well with it - we have a really narrow front door though so it was pretty much the only double that would fit through that and still be sturdy enough to bump down our front steps.

I never got on with slings past when the baby was tiny and for short journeys and liked the P&Ts as the cocoon was really good to carry the baby into groups with you and/ or just transfer for a nap. Beware though - the P&Ts cocoon was pretty small. I didn't drive then though, so used my buggy all the time.

I have really popped out in the last couple of days - and I'm not even 12 weeks yet! I look properly pregnant and my bump is pretty high, so much so that as soon as I know everything is ok with the scan I will be buying some maternity bras as my underwire ones are starting to dig in. I'm going to get the bravado ones I think - I borrowed a friend's in my last pregnancy and found them really good and only needed one size which lasted me throughout.

TroubleAndFyfe · 07/04/2014 15:10

I think you'll be fine with that diamondbutterfly. DS has mainly walked this year (was 2 in March) so you may find you don't need the buggy for your older one that much. Depends on the child of course! As for getting hot in slings DS and I are both naturally hot people so just wear a layer less than we normally would, just adjust your clothing until you're both comfortable!
Besides, if you decide you do need a double buggy they're readily available, you can easily just buy one after October.

mum2kiss · 07/04/2014 15:14

Ive never needed a double pushchair but a couple of friends of mine swear by the city mini. I think its supposed to be very light for a double and very eary to fold...

we went looking in mothercare yesterday for the cybex callisto. Unfortunately they only had the stroller available for display and couldnt demonstrate it with the car seat or carry cot attachments! The sales assistant suggested that we purchase thenfull travel sys from them and when it is delivered to store they could.show us a demonstration! Um...no! She did say the stroller is new and they've only had it for 2 weeks so its likely if we go back in a couple of months they will have the full travel.system available to demonstrate....

binkybunny · 07/04/2014 16:06

Aaargh... going to the dentist in an hour. Decided to make the most of free dental care and am registering with an NHS dentist. I know I need two fillings, I've been really slack at going since moved back to UK Blush but not sure if they will do them as back teeth and will only give amalgam ones. I HATE the dentist it just gives me the fear Sad

gunwalloe · 07/04/2014 16:50

I had to have the root canal redone today it only lasted 3 weeks and again she couldn't get into the tooth as much as she would like as the jab didn't work due to still being infected ,im dreading having it redone every 3 weeks until baby comes I hope this time it lasts longer and she couldn't give me more antibiotics :(

Loulou888 · 07/04/2014 17:14

The dentist is the worst. Hate everything about it. Feel bad for you gunwalloe that really is terrible

STIGZ · 07/04/2014 17:20

Aww congratulations!! so happy for you diamond!!

Everything went well today at mine, stuggled to get measurments as it wasnt in stretching out! Lol but got there eventually ! Im due 23rd october, just one day out from my calculation.

Deffo going to book a private scan for gender at 16 weeks, cant face another 8 weeks waiting for 20 weeks scan!!

mum2kiss · 07/04/2014 17:31

I needed a filling when I was preggers with dc1binky and they put a white one in for free because I couldnt have the silver one...

Kirstipops · 07/04/2014 17:40

Whoop diamond and stigz for your great scans :) My 16 week check is on Monday. Can't believe it's come around already :O

STIGZ · 07/04/2014 17:53
