New thread ladies. I should really leave it to someone who can link the old one. Can someone add the edd list and whatnot? Or maybe we should start again now edds are changing after scan.

Thanks mum2kiss, Trouble and Louloo. Having had a google I don't think it's thrush since that seems to suggest a lot of pain. So unless it starts to hurt I will just assume it's colustrum and check with mw at next appt.

mum2kiss I hope the circus trip went down well? Sounds fab.

Bless you Robin I don't think you're just fat! I had to buy maternity jeans at week 9, not because of any bump but because my huge bloated tum would not even let me zip my normal ones up! Haven't bought any maternity tops yet but fill my current tops and had to buy some long vests to wear underneath them because my boobs have gone up 2 cup sizes and that makes my tops sit higher than the bump band. Like Trouble said if things don't fit, it's worth buying a few pieces now. I am so much more comfortable in the new jeans.

Great pram advice, tho I so much choice! How long can you carry baby in a sling for? Is it just the first few months? 1st time mum = clueless!

Tak1ng I had a bravissimo fitting yesterday, the lady was really helpful. Said underwired bras are fine if they fit properly eg against your body not sitting on your boobs and that people usually come back at the end of their 2nd trimester for a soft band bra because by that point your bra can be digging in your bump. So I am in a normal bra and as long as it continues to fit I won't get a maternity/nonwired one until then.

CareBearWithFangs · 06/04/2014 11:04

London I carried DD around in a sling until she was 11 months. But I only stopped because by that point it was during the summer heat wave and I was sick of constantly being sweaty. I know some mum's who still carry their 3 year olds around in slings. We bought a maclaren buggy once I stopped using the sling - just something light and easily foldable, although DD hating being in that as much as she did the pram. She was just a bit of a Velcro baby.

mum2kiss · 06/04/2014 11:19

I wish the circus had been fab london. Our house is not a happy place to be right now :( dp has decided he is not speaking to dd anymore because of her behaviour. She is 5 so she doesn't understand being ignored. She keeps speaking to him and he doesnt answer...I am furious...I am also a crying mess. I tried speaking to him about it and he basically said that my style of parenting has caused this sonhe has no interest in hearing what i have to say on the matter...so I basically told him to eff off and we are now not speaking either! I have to take dd o the train station later so her dad can pick her up and im now debating how we will get there!! I do not want to ask him to take us and my car is in for repairs...looks like we'll be getting the bus although it will involve raiding dds money box for change because I have no cash on me!!! Aaargh! So annoyed and feeling defeated. I just don't have the energy to put up with either of their tantrums!

do any of you have any experience/advice to offer about successfully blending dp with kids you have from a previous relationship?! Im clearly failing miserably

TroubleAndFyfe · 06/04/2014 11:28

London I'm still carrying DS at 25 months, people carry all the way up to age 4 ish. For the first 6 months you can use a stretchy wrap, after that you need a woven wrap. You can't use stretchy wraps on your back (I mainly carry DS on my back). Or you can use a carrier - usually called SSC soft structured carrier (rather than wrap) some of these come with a newborn insert and will generally last until the baby is about 18 months (depending on their size) when you an upgrade to a toddler size. Some also come in preschool size. It sounds a little complex written down but you just need to chose between a stretchy wrap or a SSC at first as that's all you'd need for the first 6 months. I can send some links/more info if you want or point you in the direction if a sling meet near you.

TroubleAndFyfe · 06/04/2014 11:30

No advice mum2kiss but BrewBiscuitThanks

mum2kiss · 06/04/2014 12:11

Thanks trouble. We just had a sit down and talked it all through. We then sat dd down and explained a new set of tighter boundaries (we have let them slip.lately and the results are hideous!). She was not amused and stormed off to her bedroom. So I went up and let her know that dp and I are in agreement and will both be sticking to consequences etc...she reluctantly accepted her fate! Oy! Anyone else scared about adding a new baby to the mix?! Lol!

Kirstipops · 06/04/2014 12:11

Sorry you're having a hard time mum2kiss :( Maybe with DD out of the house your DP will have time to cool down, he may not agree with your parenting but surely when he thinks about it, totally ignoring her isn't the way forward either, just typical that it all had to come to a head when you're not feeling your best; hope you can work it out today x

Kirstipops · 06/04/2014 12:12

ah crossed posts, glad it's sorted ;)

LondonJen · 06/04/2014 13:48

Thanks Carebear and Trouble that is massively interesting, I've seen people carrying tiny babies that way but that's all. We still really need to think about when/what we'd use a pram for but for me the main thing is walking the dog and nipping to the shop/post office. Those sound like prefect sling situations for me in that case. Tho I guess I can't rule out a push in a pram to send LO to sleep if baby is like I was from what my mum has said! Thanks I will come back to you for links in future if that's ok.

Sorry to hear mum2kiss but glad you then talked things through. I don't have any experience or pearls of wisdom but it sounds like you handled things really well once everyone had calmed down. I am quite sure you're not failing hon tho! Give yourself a break. Thanks

STIGZ · 06/04/2014 17:00

Hi everyone, just reading about prams and slings etc and was wondering if anyone could tell me if you can attach a hauk condor car seat on to another make of pram using some sort of adapter (if this exists)?

I have a perfect carseat hardly used but not the wheels - dont really want to buy another travel system if i can help it?

But i want a pram that i can attatch car seat for making my life easier

Thanks in advance for any advice

TroubleAndFyfe · 06/04/2014 19:36

London slings tend to have a pretty magical send them to sleep power too!

ohthegoats · 06/04/2014 20:46

My mum has been here today asking me all sorts of technical questions about what we plan to 'do' about a variety of things. There are two grandchildren, 1 and 3, so she's far, far more up on things than I am. I haven't even looked at a catalogue since my SIL said she'd hand stuff over.

"Will it sleep in a bag? The bags are good you know..."
"How many car seats are you going to get?"
"Do you need a bigger car?"
"Will you take bottles to hospital in case you can't get BF to work?"

Etc etc. Erm, 15 weeks mum, 15 weeks. Talk to me about this stuff in July... eeeek.

ohthegoats · 06/04/2014 20:48

Meanwhile we're off to Thailand very early tomorrow until Easter weekend, so I hope scans keep going well, sickness stops, appetites return and bumps start to be actual baby rather than wind.. x

Captainmcgraw · 06/04/2014 21:10

tak1ng it sounds like we have very similar boobs. This pregnancy and last one I went for mothercare maternity bras - they do nursing and non nursing ones. They're comfy, have nice shape and quite pretty, although not the cheapest. Make sure you go for the ones on the hanger not the ones in boxes as they are flimsy cotton things. Last pregnancy I went to M&S and tried to buy some normal non-under wired tshirt bras and the fitting lady had a fit (no pun intended) saying they were completely inappropriate. I left with the most vile cotton baggy things that looked like they were out the 1920s. They are handy for wearing at night though for extra support.

As of today I can no longer see my feet when I stand! I do have very small feet (size 2) though so this could be why. Have also had lots of people asking me when I'm due though so think there's no hiding the bump.

Grannyapple · 06/04/2014 21:38

Ooh enjoy Thailand ohthegoats well jel of your holiday!

captain I'm the same...scan on Tuesday but defo no hiding the bump now...no stomach muscles left after 2 babies!

I hear primark now do a maternity range so I'm hoping to head there in the next few days to update my wardrobe & hopefully look half decent instead of squeezed into clutches that are too tight!

Grannyapple · 06/04/2014 21:38

Clutches=clothes!!

Kittylou1 · 06/04/2014 21:45

Went shopping today bought a full support black non wired bra fir 17 squid and some size 16 full briefs... comfortable but not sexy! Also got some trouser leggings and harem pants and 2 dresses in 2 sizes up. All fit with room to expand! White Rose shopping centre has no maternity clothes at all!rubbish x

CareBearWithFangs · 06/04/2014 21:59

So grossest thing ever just happened. I was sick with such force into the toilet that it bounced back up and hit me in the face! God it's glamorous being pregnant!

CareBearWithFangs · 06/04/2014 22:00

Ooh and granny I am currently wearing primary maternity leggings - only £4 and the most comfortable thing I own at the moment.

ExcitedCJ · 06/04/2014 22:02

Euuugh CareBear I feel for you, however you have just made my tummy lurch quite violently!

CareBearWithFangs · 06/04/2014 22:07

Sorry CJ. Really had enough of feeling sick now.

Loulou888 · 06/04/2014 22:15

I'm with you carebear that's happened to me too. It's so horrible ive had massive tummy ache all day from constipation. I wonder if it's really worth taking the vitamins I'm sure they help block you up.

I'm undecided what to do re pushchairs I had a travel system that cost a fortune but prob used actual pushchair part a handful of times as it was so easier to get about with a stroller

ExcitedCJ · 06/04/2014 22:32

CareBear it's OK, I've had one of those days, I'm swinging between overwhelming nausea, headaches/striking migraines & debilitating tiredness!
I had to take to bed most of Tues/Wed with a migraine, couldn't see straight. 12 wks yesterday, looking forward to coming out the other side.
Hope you feel better CB

robindeer · 06/04/2014 22:43

Thanks to all for the advice, I went to mothercare and bought a few bits but having tried them on nothing really fits properly. I'm quite tall so although the jeans were comfy they're too short in the leg. To be completely honest, I've had a bit of a meltdown this weekend; full-on tears! Everything just looks so frumpy and I feel so crap about myself. I'm normally fairly confident but I just didn't expect this tiredness. I feel like I haven't exercised in months and I hate feeling lazy. I'm like a beached whale at the minute and although I'm not vomiting the nausea is almost constant. Is anyone else suffering from a total lack of motivation?

Sorry for the whinge Blush

TroubleAndFyfe · 06/04/2014 23:41

Loulou I've had that problem with this pregnancy - first time in my life! I took a load if senna - 2 one evening, 2 the following morning and 4 that night which did the job but I then read you shouldn't take them when pregnant. I've since bought loads of prune juice and am having a glass each morning before breakfast (it's fine with a little water) and it's helped keep things moving really well, no tummy aches and 1 of my 5 a day!
