New thread ladies. I should really leave it to someone who can link the old one. Can someone add the edd list and whatnot? Or maybe we should start again now edds are changing after scan.

Aww Cherie that's lovely you will get to be there to see her graduate!

Kirstipops · 03/04/2014 18:02

Welcome LondonJen , I love your scan description!!

ExcitedCJ · 03/04/2014 18:16

Hi Mums out there, this is off thread entirely but anyone got any potty training tips? Been trying with my 3YR OLD DD!! For 5 days now & things are not getting any better! She has just done a poo at the restaurant we are out at for her birthday! My poor DH is away to change her. She is just not getting it. Tried a money box with a coin for her to put in every-time she has a success. Oh and all sorts of other stuff.. At wits end!

CareBearWithFangs · 03/04/2014 18:26

We did stickers with DD CJ. But to be honest we tried at first and it was such a nightmare we gave up and then tried again a few months later and it was much easier. There's only so much pee you can clean up in a week before you lose your will to live!

Stargirl7 · 03/04/2014 18:36

Thanks everyone for your support. A happy outcome! There was my gorgeous bean dancing around with its little heart beating :) they couldn't do nuchal test because it had the hiccups and kept bouncing around! They are doing a quad test at 15 weeks, so hopefully that will be enough. Due date now 9th oct. Many happy scans to all x

familyfortunes · 03/04/2014 18:38

Well had my scan today and I'm in the same club as Wiggy now...expecting non-identical twins! I had a feeling this was the case...dh is still in shock...ds is 11 months old and has no idea his wee world will be turned upside down shortly Grin

ExcitedCJ · 03/04/2014 18:56

Yeah... Family that is amazing news. Congrats.

Thanks CareBear

Captainmcgraw · 03/04/2014 19:29

more twins, yay! Excited we got there with chocolate buttons. We tried earlier though and it was a no go. Is your DD only just three or nearer four? If the former then perhaps just leave it a few weeks and start again.

mum2kiss · 03/04/2014 20:18

Congrats family :)

excited are you going totally nappy free? I potty trained my daughter at age 2yr 4 mths and was advised to just go completely nappy free during day so as not to confuse things and then keep taking her to sit on the potty every half an hour or so. you may have already tried this but if not its worth a try! We were dry within a few days.

CareBearWithFangs · 03/04/2014 20:28

More twins, congrats!

I can't wait for my scan now. I need to know. Also my bump is huge and hard today. I looked how I did with DD at 24 weeks. I need some maternity clothes but I can't buy any until after the scan (I'm not sure why I just decided not to get anything until then).

FlipFantasia · 03/04/2014 20:34

Family wow, congrats!! You'll have your hands full!

Excited the first week is hard, just stick with it and lots of reminders to go on the potty/toilet (my son preferred the toilet, dd, just two, seems to be preferring the potty so far). I'd also suggest sticking close to home and packing lots of spare knickers/leggings whenever you head out! She'll get there.

Took DS ages, still the (very occasional) poo accident at just 4. I found it a slog and we used real nappies and all (just as a counter point to trouble's good experience - real nappies don't guarantee easy/early potty training!). I'm holding off on DD starting officially until the weather is reliably nicer to have her running around bare bottomed!

pebble82 · 03/04/2014 20:47

Yeahy! Congrats on more twin news :-)

I just sneezed and got a sharp cramping pain. It's gone now but not sure if I should be worried. Should I?

Loopylu84 · 03/04/2014 20:51

Congrats Family! How exciting for you all! I wonder how many more twin mummies we'll have...

Had our scan today which was just fab, I had been starting to stress because of lack of symptoms but didnt need to worry, was great to see the baby so active and rolling around-got to see some thumb sucking and hiccuping! All tests low risk so we're very relieved, been given my 20 week scan date at the end of may...feels like it's actually happening now! Grin

Grannyapple · 03/04/2014 20:56

excited we potty trained DS at 2yrs 10 months...did it over Xmas when DH was around to look after DD whilst we did it. We stayed in for the first few days & just had him in his pants & top (just made it easier to change him & saved on washing). We had 3 days of lots of accidents & then he just got it...we too used chocolate for rewards when he'd used the potty. He was already using the potty once a day tho just before he went into his bath (usu for a poo). He's now using the toilet like "a big boy" for wees. I would say give it another few days & then try again in a few weeks. Do you have a portable potty for out & about? We gave a pottete with disposable liners...works quite well for us?

Is she at nursery? Any of her wee friends doing potty training at the same time? Was a stroke of luck for us that his best friend at nursery was doing it at the same time so they went to the toilet together etc. I think that helped a lot.

Wow-more twins!! Huge congrats family! How are you taking the news?

familyfortunes · 03/04/2014 21:05

Thanks everyone, I've spent most of the afternoon giggling, and most of this evening googling...bigger cars, bigger houses...need to get some plans in place. DH is worried but I know we'll manage...even though it'll be hard work for the first couple of years.

Captainmcgraw · 03/04/2014 21:06

Pebble I'd say this is very normal - I've had it in both pregnancies. As I have a cold at the moment then I've been getting these pains countless times - sneezing, coughing and blowing my nose.

pebble82 · 03/04/2014 21:46

Oh good. I hate being the worrier. It's just nice to check with fellow mums to be.

Bumpforme2014 · 03/04/2014 21:48

Evening all, successful scan today due date 11th October. Lovely seeing my beautiful baby looking so cute, it was very lazy didn't move much and I had to jiggle around to get it to move so they could measure behind neck. Sonographer didn't tell us much just said everything looked normal, 20 week scan end of May, been so nice telling everyone this evening but still feels surreal.

What did everyone get told at 12 week scan? I know the size and how far along I am but that's it, they also took my form with all stats on there for my downs blood test which was only done today.

Bumpforme2014 · 03/04/2014 21:49

Pebble I had that at weekend, it's bit scary but I just figured it was normal.

ExcitedCJ · 03/04/2014 22:00

Ladies.. You are all adorable & thank you for the encouragement & suggestions. I'm off to buy heaps of chocolate buttons tomorrow! :)
Pebble this happens to me every time I sneeze from approx 6 weeks. I've had 2 scans since then & all fine, so I am sure all will be well.. I also had it with DD through whole pregnancy.
Bump congrats on good scan.

Grannyapple · 03/04/2014 22:25

Oh yeah forgot today excited, we just kept asking/reminding DS every hour to go on the potty (& still put him on it when he said he didn't need it)...then he started telling us when he had to go.. Is a pain in the beginning but brilliant (& scary) how independent 'they get when it all works! DS now goes in the toilet himself & if using the potty, empties it into toilet himself
& flushes it away.I'm not allowed in til he's finished Shock...& then have to remind him to wash his hands!!

Grannyapple · 03/04/2014 22:27

Oh & congrats to everyone else on their scans!

Roll on Tuesday morning for mine...tho feel like I'm really showing today...can feel my belly stretching & I look about 5 months preggo & I'm only 12 wks....eek!

Buying clothes for my return to work is going to be interesting...

mrsb87 · 04/04/2014 07:48

Hello everyone, congrats to everyone with great acan news!! Fantastic!
pebble I've been getting that pain every time I cough or sneeze for a few weeks now. I don't think its anything to worry about. Probs just muscles changing and under pressure I guess.
So not only am I having to put up with the hg now I have a horrid snotty cold. Been awake a lot of the night fighting copious amounts of phlegm Sad I suppose the only benefit is no dodgy smells to contend with today!

Kirstipops · 04/04/2014 08:08

Congrats ladies on the great scan news! Another set of twins too , whooop!
Pebble I have had those pains before too, I assume it's just my already stretched muscles/tendons coping with extra strain of the coughing/sneezing motion!
Bump my scan lady pointed out the various bits of the body that could be made out, explained what measurements she was doing while she was doing them, told me where the placenta is, and what size the crown to rump measurement was.
Have a good Friday everyone, and thanks again ladies for the info on Natal hypnotherapy, I feel really positive that approach will be good for me! I even worked up the nerve to watch a home birth in a birthing pool on YouTube using the method, very inspiring!

Cherie037 · 04/04/2014 09:18

Congrats on the all the scans everyone!

Very exciting news Family!!

My scan is on Wednesday so fingers crossed everything goes well!!
