So I got a stupidly early faint positive today at 9dpo when I should definitely know better after a chemical last month. According to the Calendar I'm due December 1st so I've decided to be massively optimistic and start this thread. Is there anybody put there?

Brian - I am currently sitting here with my top trouser button undone and the zip halfway down - I usually need a belt with these trousers!

Chipandspuds · 01/04/2014 18:23

ImBrian I'm definitely bloated and windy Blush I was the same last time with DS for the first trimester.

Feeling very nauseous and headachey at work today but I think a lot of that is to do with the lack of air circulation - I think the building managers are trying to slow cook us to death!

I'm going to pilates this evening so that should help me feel better :)

Bubba84 · 01/04/2014 18:25

ImBrian yep I get various degrees of bloat, particularly after eating is worse. I'm pretty gassy though so I wonder if mine is related to that. I never used to burp much before but I'm constantly burping, even after a sip of water! Hmm very lady-like!

Mrswellyboot · 01/04/2014 19:44

Hello, joking you (everything crossed)

Think I am due the 9th December
Have a six month old baby

Over the moon and a bit nervous. Early days. Hope to see my gp later this week

Mrswellyboot · 01/04/2014 19:45

Sorry for this question but I have been using the toilet a lot (bowels) didn't have this the last time, don't know if it is a symptom

Mrswellyboot · 01/04/2014 19:46

Joining not joking Blush

somethingwittynot · 02/04/2014 06:04

So tired here. Not sleeping properly and for some reason I have been waking up for the day at 5
30! Also full of gas here to

EmilyPinkOrBlue · 02/04/2014 06:55

I only got up once last night for a wee! That's a record other nights it's been 3/4! Still feel so tired though!! Can also confirm bloating and gasyness!!

MrsFtn · 02/04/2014 07:11

Hi Mrswellyboot and congratulations - wow you have a six month old?!
Very windy here too at the moment! I have heard that bowel movements can vary in early pg. Some people are more constipated, others the opposite and some go from one to the other so I think it probably is a symptom.
I got rather excited this morning when I woke up feeling nauseous. I'm ok now after a cuppa and some ginger biscuits.

chillychicken · 02/04/2014 09:05

Hi all, tentatively joining.

I'm 12dpo and I think I had a positive test last night and this morning:
www.canyouseealine.com/view_home_pregnancy_test.php?testID=47970 last night

www.canyouseealine.com/view_home_pregnancy_test.php?testID=48020 this morning.

I'm not getting too excited until the weekend as AF due on Friday and I feel very crampy. Will buy a FRER and a digital to confirm.

Not quite as excited as I expected I'd be - I think I'm in shock really!

So err, yes, if this is a positive and it sticks then what do I do? When do I need to book a GP appointment? Exercise wise, is there any to do, any to avoid? I want to strengthen my core really. No idea how I'll concentrate at work today.

So, my EDD is around 12th December I think! Eek! Grin

somethingwittynot · 02/04/2014 09:51

Wont let me look at your tests! Will try again later but a tentative congratulations for now!

EmilyPinkOrBlue · 02/04/2014 09:53

You are deffo pregnant chilly start believing it! Exactly like the faint line I got and then the next day I took a boots digital test that said PREGNANT!!

rockstars12 · 02/04/2014 09:53

Hi chillychicken congratulations I had lines like that too. Though I did go on to use several more tests over a week and a half. 1 a few days after my period didn't show and then a week later to see that the test was showing my weeks changing.
Either way you need to start taking your pregnancy vitamins if you haven't already. If you take any medications you need to see your doctor ASAP to discuss them. Make sure you check the guidelines for what you can and can't eat. Exercise wise, you can still do some though I'd take it easy for a little while to let things settle. They say walking and swimming are the best.
As for the AF symptoms. That's perfectly normally I had implantation bleeding and cramps which I thought was my period starting. If its brown blood it's fine. If its fresh, that's sometimes a problem, but then many successful pregnancies have had bleeding throughout.
I was in shock and panicked for the first week or so, I'm just starting to relax and accept that what will be will be, as long as I follow the general rules. You will find very soon that your breasts hurt, you bloat and you're really tired all the time. You will wee nonstop, but make sure to still take plenty of fluids onboard. You are about to increase your blood by a lot.

EmilyPinkOrBlue · 02/04/2014 09:54

Chilly I had really bad cramps pre af and few days post but has settled now

EmilyPinkOrBlue · 02/04/2014 09:56

Great info rock star :)

somethingwittynot · 02/04/2014 09:56

chilly thats a BFP!!

rockstars12 · 02/04/2014 10:01

I'm finally mastering the art of not squishing my boobs with the new pillow. Hopefully by the time I'm not allowed on my front or back I will be trained to sleep on my side. I love my sleep and a lack of it completely wrecks me so I'd rather get it sorted now.
somethingwitty I've been waking up really early too. I don't go wee during night but it means my last and first have changed. By time I wake up for first I go pretty much every hour thereafter. It's insane! I've already had to buy gaviscon as acid reflux is causing this feeling of a lump in my throat which makes me gag all the time. Hopefully it helps, cos it tastes awful. I bought seven seas pregnancy vitamins and panicked at how I'm going to swallow such a big pill. Their conception ones are much smaller. I couldn't believe how much the two tablet combined ones are just to get omega 3 it's twice the price. Fortunately I do have a variety of fish in my diet.

chillychicken · 02/04/2014 10:05

Emily I'm going to get an FRER and a digital this week today EEEEEK! Grin

I have loads of ICs left rockstars so I'll use those over the next week or so. I still can't believe it!

I've been taking folic acid, vitamin c and vitamin d since November. No other medication. Yes! Guidelines! Eek, I have mayo today as I had no other option for lunch - can I even have mayo? I'm such a numpty! haha.

To be honest, I haven't exercised for quite a while so I'd have to take it easy for a while. I was thinking of walking and some small weights? Can I use a X-trainer? I'm thinking for when it's raining and I still want to get some exercise. Are there any exercises good for strengthening the core? I heard somewhere that you shouldn't do situps? I hold a some weight on my stomach and I'd like to get rid of that so I can eventually see what's bump and what isn't

Breasts already hurt and I'm very bloated - feel like AF is coming if that makes sense? Oh god, I wee non stop as it is! Lol.

Thank you so much, that's all really informative.

Oh, when do I need to book in with a doc? Do I tell the receptionists I'm pregnant and they tell me which route I need to go - either straight to midwife or GP first?

PunkyPod · 02/04/2014 10:17

Congrats Chilly! Yes you can have mayo. Although I think fresh mayo may not be good because of the uncooked eggs. Have a check on the nhs website for diet dos and donts. It's not actually that much you can't have. I already hate cheese and don't drink alcohol so hiding dd's pregnancy was easy! This time round I've been getting waves of feeling sick. This is a new symptom for me. Yuck!

PunkyPod · 02/04/2014 10:19

Oh and all areas are different so it's worth just saying to the GP's reception that you are pregnant and can they tell you what you need to do next. In my area you have to go to the GP who then make the referral to midwife. I'm going tomorrow Smile

EmilyPinkOrBlue · 02/04/2014 10:19

Chilly I had to go to docs and fill out form for the midwife and a few days later she called with my first midwife appt 22nd April looking forward to it apart from the blood test! I hate needles!

rockstars12 · 02/04/2014 10:27

chilly I would say its too late to start trying to exercise weight off your belly. You have to be careful with abdominal exercise. Don't start anything you weren't actually already doing unless its taking up pregnancy yoga and Pilates. You will see your bump regardless when it grows.

chillychicken · 02/04/2014 10:31

Ok fab, I'll call next week and get an appointment. I too hate blood tests Emily!

Thanks punky!

I thought that might be the case rockstars! Tbh, cutting out wine will probably have a major effect on my stomach anyway! As will some gentle exercise. Smile

I still can't believe it. When does it begin to sink in?

EmilyPinkOrBlue · 02/04/2014 10:34

I'm 5 weeks tomorrow I don't think it will sink in till midwife appt and 12 week scan :)

chillychicken · 02/04/2014 10:57

I'll be 4 weeks on Friday so a lonnnnnng way to go. It feels so unreal.
