Morning ladies.

Feeling sorry for myself today 40+1 and woke up full of a cough and cold, my throat feels like razor blades (shamelessly looks for sympathy)

EmFlat · 27/03/2014 06:53

Sympathy happily granted Wink sorry you're poorly - definitely not what you need right now!

puggywug81 · 27/03/2014 08:23

EmFlat · 27/03/2014 08:55

He's having a proper grumpyrestless day, since yesterday! Think I'm confined to the sofa today...

puggywug81 · 27/03/2014 09:03

Aww sounds like a trash TV\DVD day maybe...

faithfulandtruthful · 27/03/2014 10:43

Dear all,

As you may or may not have noticed I chose not to take part in this thread for some time but wanted to pop back to tell you ladies our news.

I had a baby girl in the early hours of Sunday morning (23/3) she weighed 7lb 8oz and is the spitting image of her daddy!

Despite the threat of induction from the hospital (I was not pro induction in the slightest), I ultimately got my lovely wonderful home water birth I had always planned. I coped without pain relief throughout and got in the pool a few contractions before transition and it was fairly quick after that my little one was born. I was 41 +6 and starting to wonder if she was planning to stay there forever!

Big congratulations to all who have joined the parent club and best of luck to those who haven't.

To those who are yet to give birth the two things I couldn't have lived without post birth were my postpartum popsicle pads (Google how to make them) and a squeezy bottle for post partum piddles.

All the best.

F&T

Mummytobe2014 · 27/03/2014 11:56

thanks everyone, Jack is so lovely I love being a mum already! Just wish I could stand up straight Sad
Will update in a few days time when hopefully things would have settled. xx

EmFlat · 27/03/2014 15:52

Congratulations, F&T! Grin So pleased for you.

Yep, it's been a sofa day... DVDs of musicals has got me through Wink

Fender1 · 28/03/2014 07:01

Hi F&T, congratulations! , sounds like a lovely birth experience.
How's the cold Puggy? You feeling any better today?
Anyone else notice that Comms has gone a bit quiet..? Hope it's all good news Smile
Enjoy your Friday groundhog day everyone

commsgirl · 28/03/2014 07:05

Congratulations F&T and MTB Thanks. MTB I hope your recovery goes well.

I started labour on my own at 5am on Tuesday morning. After some very slow progression and a few blood pressure issues baby Clara was finally born at 10:40pm on Wednesday via forceps. The whole experience was so far from my planned lovely natural water birth but we are so in love with her that it definitely all feels worth it. Had a few issues with breast feeding so she's on formula but I'm going to continue to try.

Hope everyone's doing well :)

I had a feeling something was up comms! Congratulations and Clara, you have a beautiful name Smile
BF is tough, but don't stress too much - it takes many aspects to be a good mum (and dad too come to that) and if bf doesn't work out for you it's not the end if the world.
Enjoy every moment x

commsgirl · 28/03/2014 18:06
