Oh mtb, here's my hand too, and some Thanks
What's the next step from pessaries? ARM? Drip? Hope you're not in too much discomfort.

Mummytobe2014 · 23/03/2014 07:34

Morning, no nxt steps until tonight as they have to leave me alone for 24 hrs from last pessary so 9oclock tonight they will examine me!? Im so fed up four ladies went into labour last night and they all came in after me!
I had protein in my urine so had bloods done and further sample sent off yesterday - no one has told me the results yet. Bp is being controlled by meds but was still high 2am this morn, i feel like a spare part!
I havent slept a wink as its too noisey amd uncomfortable. I started having uncomfortable tightenings but even they have stopped Sad

commsgirl · 23/03/2014 09:37

Oh that's so frustrating. Is DH coming in to be with you? Are you able to get up and go walk around now? Thinking about you.

I had the pessary in for 24 hours first thing fri morning waters went at 11.45 fri night and contractions started, went to loo and pessary fell out about 5am midwife decided to leave it out for 6 hours examined me and was only 1-2 cn dialted. At 11 midwife examined me again was now 3 cm dialted and decided to put me on the drip, and slowly increased the dose over 4 hours by 6 I was 8cm dialted but baby had turned started pushing at 8 ended up in theatre as they needed to turn him , 8.44 he was born ! But traumatic but would do it all again today :) he has got a fractured shoulder so is all wrapped up snug. X

commsgirl · 23/03/2014 17:22

I'm glad he arrived safe eventually and hope you're both recovering well. Does he have a name yet? What pain relief did you have?

steppyhen · 23/03/2014 17:31

I had tens machine and co codamol from midnight until about 12.30 then opted for epidural. Best decision ever the gas and air made me really sick and was planning on having remifentanil (not sure on spellings) but was that exhausted from being up all night epidural seamed like best idea for me to get rest x

steppyhen · 23/03/2014 17:32

And his name is Archie x good luck mtb

Mummytobe2014 · 23/03/2014 17:41

The other girls who laboured quickly had that 24hr pessary too and i has the "old" version. Im sure if i had of had the 24hr one i wld be further on.
Im sorry to hear he has a fractured shoulder hope it mends quickly! Lovely name :-)
I was told by the anethnatist (sp?) that i cld opt for mobile epidural then midwide said they dnt do it!? Was ur epi a full one or mobile?
Have got my tens with me too Smile

Just been for a walk round the car park and awaiting a birthing ball so wish me luck x

commsgirl · 23/03/2014 17:50

Mummytobe2014 · 26/03/2014 18:56

Hiya, well it turned into a nightmare! Had my waters broken and then in early hours of yesterday had to have an emergency C-section, I am in a lot of pain now but home with baby Jack 9Ilbs 7 :-)
Have broken my phone so wont be able to access emails easily but hope to have it sorted soon.
Hope all is going well with all you ladies waiting :-)

Fender1 · 26/03/2014 20:43

Welcome to this crazy world baby Jack, what a healthy size Grin
Bless you MTB, take it easy and make sure you recover from a very stressful few days for your body (let alone mentally). Take your (painkilling) meds before you Confused need them. It will get better, it's only day one today officially.
Been thinking of you and checking in each day for news. Now the real fun begins :-)
