Feeling a lot better today, thanks Comms - still up and down but the blues could finally be lifting? See what tomorrow brings Wink

Looking forward to seeing everyone on the 'other' thread... sounds like it won't be too long! Grin

steppyhen · 21/03/2014 05:39

Hi everyone congrats on all these babies . Going in to be induced todag any words of wisdom I know its a long process and this is my first duper nervous but very excited xxx

puggywug81 · 21/03/2014 06:32

Thanks Em hope you are having a good day.

Good luck Steppy I hope everything goes smoothly for you.

Really like the name Fender.

Good luck and happy vibes to everyone else still waiting to meet their little Martians. Thanks

Fender1 · 21/03/2014 07:28

Glad to hear things may be on the up Em.

Oooh Streppy, induction day for you - how exciting Grin I haven't been through it myself opted straight for ELCS as I'm impatient but just go with the flow, and try to chill and visualise end result rather than the 'there and now'.

Puggy, Comms and MTB enjoy your last few days as much as possible , and although it sounds counterintuitive as I've got a CS wound to try and heal, I feel more comfortable now I've not got my huge bump - SPD all gone and sleeping is easier. The end is nigh !!

Hope you're ok Dita Wink

OwlinaTree · 21/03/2014 08:14

Good luck steppy! Try to keep active as long as you can.

Mummytobe2014 · 21/03/2014 08:16

steppy im in the same position as u got induction tomorro, i started a post in the birth section asking advice on induction process and there are some great posts and ideas so if u have time take a look.
Wishing u all the best Smile

fender thats the one thing i am hoping for is spd to go away, its gotten so painful in last two weeks sleepingis non existant!

dita lookimg forward to hearing some news Smile

Goodluck to all with inductions, sweeps etc xx

commsgirl · 21/03/2014 09:23

Good luck steppy!

Fender thanks for the reminder, I can't wait to sleep without this bump!

Em so glad you're feeling better, hope things carry on as they are :).

Sweep number two this afternoon, fingers crossed!

OP posts:
Fender1 · 21/03/2014 11:29

Good this afternoon Comms, do you have a date for induction yet ?

commsgirl · 21/03/2014 17:22

The midwife I saw today wouldn't even attempt the sweep because my stubborn little lady's head is still completely not engaged. At 41 weeks! So it's looking like induction on Wednesday for me. She said some babies don't engage until labour but the chances of me going in spontaneously with my first baby and an unengaged head are pretty slim.

I'm trying to be positive and obviously a happy healthy baby is the most important outcome but still feeling pretty down :(

Mummytobe2014 · 21/03/2014 18:00

Sorry comms its rubbish isnt it but there is light at the end of the tunnel! I was so hoping i wld go into labour naturally but sadly not so induce tomorro. My little man has not moved down at all im sure if he had it his way he wld never come out!
Try not to feel too down and keep thinking about the newborn cuddles x

puggywug81 · 21/03/2014 19:30

Good luck mummy and comms

Fender1 · 21/03/2014 20:57

I so so agree with MTB comms, I went through this last week with my consultant and decided to cut to chase and go for the ELCS as wasn't getting anywhere by myself .
Felt low this time last week, why couldn't my body do what it was supposed to do..?
But! A week on I'm typing this with my baby on my shoulder, and to be honest I don't think I could feel happier if I did 'labour' any different / naturally.
Please don't feel too down, thinking of you.
What time do go in tomorrow MTB?

commsgirl · 21/03/2014 21:42

Thank you lovely ladies. I keep telling myself that once she's here I won't care so much and I know I won't, but labour feels so important when you don't have your baby yet doesn't it.

Lots of luck for tomorrow mtb, I'll be thinking about you.

OP posts:
Mummytobe2014 · 21/03/2014 21:52

Thanks ladies Smile its so nice to come on here and get some reassurance, everyone is so lovely, im getting nervous but going to stay strong/positive! Keep thinking about being in ur position fender in a weeks time :-)
I have to call the ward at 7am tomorrow for time to go in, i hope its early so as not to "waste"? half the day if u see what i mean!
I have wondered why my body hasnt allowed a natural start but everything happens for a reason so i jst need to go with the flow!
I will keep u all updated on progress Grin

OwlinaTree · 21/03/2014 22:35

Just focus on the outcome. At the end of the day, the birth is just one day of your baby's story. All the days you spend as a parent are so much more important.

It's a shame not to have the birth you were planning, but you are not doing anything wrong if labour doesn't start, baby doesn't turn/engage etc. As fender says, once your baby is here you won't be so focused on how it happened.

Good luck to you m2b and comms, will be thinking of you both.

mrsmugoo · 22/03/2014 07:17

I second what Fender said - I didn't labour and it doesn't make a jot a difference when I look at this beautiful boy!

I plan to have one more child and honestly if I had another ELCS I would not be upset at never having laboured.

Fender1 · 22/03/2014 07:21

Good luck today MTB, thinking of you. Grin

Mummytobe2014 · 22/03/2014 09:55

Thanks ladies, am on ward waiting! Pharmacy doesnt open till ten so they havent given me any medication yet! Its gonna be a long day!
Grin

puggywug81 · 22/03/2014 12:47

Good luck mummy hope all goes well. Thanks

Mummytobe2014 · 23/03/2014 04:27

Sad still no further on and im gutted. Cant sleep as everyone around me who is on a different form of inducing is labouring and waters are breaking. Im soooooo fed up i dnt know what to do with myself.
After the second pessary i had tightenings which i cldnt feel but dnt think they have amounted to anything!
Need some hand holding feel this is going to go on forever!

commsgirl · 23/03/2014 05:55

Oh you poor thing. No advice but have a hand to hold. I know it's really hard but just try and stay focused on the end result, it'll be so worth it when it's all over and you've got your baby in your arms.
