Contractions ramped up pretty quickly, got in pool at 2:15 ish & my beautiful baby girl of 7lb 6oz entered the world at 3am! I have a 2nd degree tear but am just enjoying feeding & staring at her! Now to finalise her name......

Fender1 · 17/03/2014 08:10

Awwww congrats BSpice, sounds like a perfect birth and welcome to the world miss BSpice x
T'was the full moon that did it..!

Mummytobe2014 · 17/03/2014 08:40

Thanks fender im booked in for 11:10 so pls send some positive vibes...am praying my cervix has become more "favourable" over the weekend Smile

Am pleased the full moon has worked for someone Smile

commsgirl · 17/03/2014 09:11

Congratulations bspice! Thanks

Still no baby here! I had another night of strong BHs but again they didn't materialise into anything. Feeling really emotional this morning - getting really fed up of 'any baby news???' texts like I'd just forget to mention if I'd had a baby and not looking forward to having a sweep tomorrow.

Good luck mtb!

Thanks Fender comms and Em. I'm feeling better about being PFB's current lack of arrival today; sometimes you think you’re the only person having these thoughts. Still no show, and no cramps today, just a very wiggly baby trying to get comfy in a very confined space.

Mummytobe sending favourable cervix vibes your way (not a phrase I’d ever imagine I’d type) these babies are going to have to come out sometime. Think I’ll take up the midwife’s offer of a sweep at my appointment this Wednesday.

BSpice wow, congratulations! Ouch about the tear, but great to hear your good news. Flowers

puggywug81 · 17/03/2014 09:27

Congrats bspice!

Sending positive vibes to all the sweepies.

EmFlat · 17/03/2014 09:32

Congratulations BSpice! So pleased for you Smile and a lovely water birth as well Grin

DitaVonCreamTeas · 17/03/2014 09:42

comms Ha! Tell me about it! As if we might have slipped our minds that we'd given birth. It's lovely that people are excited for us, but I could really do with being left alone now, and if anyone else says 'he'll come when he's ready' I will hormonally shriek at them. Grin

Really don't want a sweep, but really do want this baby out. I have two midwives, Midwife A who I've seen a lot, and Midwife B who unfortunately I've rarely seen due to her being on training then being on sick-leave after an operation. Mid A is a perfectly nice woman, but I've never really taken to her, however Mid B is a cracking lass. Seems (please please) like it'll be Mid B I'll see on Wed. Putting it bluntly, I just wouldn't want Mid A fiddling with my cervix, but I'd trust Mid B to. If it's not, how could I ever tell Mid A that I don't want to her to do a stretch n sweep, and request her (junior) colleague? Confused

Mummytobe2014 · 17/03/2014 09:55

Thanks ladies Smile will let u know how i get on although baby is still sitting high so its unlikely there is any change.

I know how u feel dita i have seen three midwifes since beginning of pregnancy but majority of my appts have been with just one and i saw a completely different mw for sweep on fri, im a self concious person and it makes me nervous knowing today i will prob see someone completely different.
The lady i saw fri was lovely and made me feel comfortable but im sure it will be someone new today Sad so it makes the process harder!
I hope you get the midwife your happy with it will make the sweep easier (i think) as ul be more comfortable.

comms know how u feel i have had to ignore my phone coz im sick of people asking, of course we wld share if there was any news. I hate responding with the same words over and over! Arghhhhh!

Mummyk1982 · 17/03/2014 10:28

Hi all,
So happy for all you lovely ladies who have had their babies!!!
Due date 2 days away, totally fed up today- so I can't imagine how you over due ladies feel!
Was in so much back pain last night- totally because I couldn't get comfy- not period type pains or anything. Broken sleep, varicose veins hurting, going to bed no longer enjoyable and constant split second stabbing pains down below and soreness under bump several times a day which never materialise to anything. Grrrr! Totally just had a hormonal moment and just burst in to tears with shear frustration that nothing is happening. I can't face going majorly overdue- midwife said she'd offer me a sweep this Wednesday when I see her- didn't want to do it at first (don't want to interfere with nature), but almost definitely going to do it cos it's all too much now.
Hope your sweep goes well MTB!

mrsmugoo · 17/03/2014 12:48

Congrats BSpice!

OwlinaTree · 17/03/2014 13:18

Congrats bspice sounds like a lovely water birth.

Mummytobe2014 · 17/03/2014 13:25

Well no change since fri for me, although mw did feel babies head so she said he is further down than first thought but she cld not get into my cervix so no stretch. I am being referred for induction Sad really didnt want that but atleast i will be moving on!

steppyhen · 17/03/2014 17:04

Whens ur induction mummy to be ? Their was no change with mine today had it at 12 but now in bed feeling really crampy ! Maybe the start?!?! Xxx

EmFlat · 17/03/2014 18:19

Thinking of you, Fender, not long now! I'm guessing nothing natural's happened so it's on for the c-sec tomorrow lunchtime...

FitzgeraldProtagonist · 17/03/2014 19:48

Congrats all and bspice am still here in the 9 DAYS overdue bracket. I feel that fender and I are goin for worlds longest gestation!!! Induction appointment tomorrow but don't think I will go through with it - might get them to monitor look and sweep and go home... Fender good luck!!

Fender1 · 17/03/2014 22:33

Thanks girls, have had a lovely day / evening, nice meal and relaxing bath.
Have put labour at the back of my mind and saw Consultant this aft and baby is no further progressed from last week (am paraphrasing but was told that he/she is not showing any signs for labouring) so signed up for CS - induction wasn't really an option as previous birth was also CS.
Have to be at hosp for 7.30am and I'm first up, so barring any EMCS hold ups should have baba in my arms by 10.30 !!
Not quite as I'd have hoped but v excited now.

Good luck Fitz and MTB and all other inductees, the end is in sight Smile

mrsmugoo · 18/03/2014 00:24

Good luck Fender! My ELCS was lovely - I'd have another!

Happy baby snuggles!

DitaVonCreamTeas · 18/03/2014 08:08

Good luck Fender Smile

Um, just had a wee and noticed the very slightest and lightest pinky brown watery discharge and I have some light crampy period-style pains. I'm 40+6, could this be, actually, the start of something?

commsgirl · 18/03/2014 08:18

Good luck today Fender

Sounds promising Dita! Fingers crossed.
