Congratulations Lib Thanks

I'm officially overdue and grumpy! Going sofa shopping with DP today so lots of walking on the cards. Might even resort to sex tonight..

Congratulations Lib Flowers

Officially 40+3 now although my own calculations put my EDD at 17 March, so we'll see. One of my NCT friends has just had to have an induction 1 week early due to suddenly developing preeclampsia - can I admit I feel jealous even though it was scary for her to be taken into hospital and put on a monitor for ages?

mrsmugoo · 15/03/2014 12:24

Just popping in from my baby bubble to say that Edward arrived safely by ELCS on Wednesday morning weighing 7lb 4oz. We left hospital last night. His feeding is still not quite perfect but we're persevering. He's lost just over his 10% so we're cup feeding a bit when he doesn't latch. He's amazing and I'm totally in love

Congrats to all the other new Mummies, I haven't quite caught up yet!

commsgirl · 15/03/2014 12:26

Congratulations Mrs. Love the name Edward! Hope you're getting settled back at home and his feeding picks up. Thanks

EmFlat · 15/03/2014 13:15

Admittedly, Fender, he is absolutely grand - despite his Mum's wobblinessWink My little monkey is all limbs and pulls an hilarious 'Kenneth Williams' face when he's pooping! I'm a little brighter today, and we're watching the rugby with DH - LO dressed in the Ireland babygro & bootees sent by DH's Mumsy Wink

Will keep my fingers firmly crossed for you for the next 48-ish hours, then! I'll hope things start naturally for you Thank you for your support, too, bless you Smile

Also crossing fingers for BSpice, Puggy, Comms and Dita - a St Paddy's day DD?? Awesome Grin

Congratulations Mrs! So happy for you - love the name you've chosen, and I'm sure the feeding will settle soon.

OwlinaTree · 15/03/2014 13:36

Congrats mrsm what a lovely name! My son has lost a bit more than the 10%, apparently it's a bit more common with section babies. He'd put a bit back on by thus, hoping for more again by tomorrow.

Mummytobe2014 · 15/03/2014 14:23

Congratulations Lib Thanks

Fender you are not alone I wake feeling like that everyday, last night we DTD and about an hour after I woke with the most horrendous period pains, went to the loo and they eased off after a while then woke a few hours later with the same thing but nothing today! I have been getting them at night but assumed it was because my bump wasn't supported but I now think its more than that as my bump was supported last night!? Who knows, whatever it is my bump is still high and cervix not favourable! At least you know by Tuesday eve you will have your little one to snuggle! So I assume they wouldn't induce you for a natural labour?

bspice that all sounds very promising, could we have a live labour thread shortly?? My mw suggested sex too but I just don't know whether it works! It definitely sounds like you had a show, I am checking every time I go for a wee and get very disappointed when there is nothing! Enjoy your walk and good luck, keep us updated if you can! Smile

Mummytobe2014 · 15/03/2014 14:28

Congratulations mrs Thanks so pleased to hear all is well!

puggy I just got back from hairdressers having my highlights done, in my mind I am thinking "ok I am ready now, my hair is done" secretly hoping baby will take notes!!

DitaVonCreamTeas · 15/03/2014 18:41

Love the name Edward mrsm congratulations Flowers

DH and his family are Irish so if PFB did arrive on Paddy's Day we'd get a whole lot of extra kudos Grin

puggywug81 · 15/03/2014 19:06

Congrats Mrs lovely name.

Ny thoughts exactly mummy.

Fender1 · 16/03/2014 08:34

Morning ladies, how are we all today?!
Well I'm still not in labour, but feeling a little more chilled than yesterday.
Hope you are feeling a bit brighter Em, esp as Benedicts outfit seemed to do the trick for the rugby ! I remember a real 'come down' after my first birth, I think it's the realisation of the sense of responsibility for this human, and also not having a clue as to whether I was doing it all correctly. I found BF especially tricky to start with, I then realised most new mums did too otherwise why would there be so many support groups !

How are my over due date buddies - Dita, Comms, Fitz and MTB. Any changes ? Also good luck to BSpice for your sweep today. I bet your hair looks gorg Pug and MTB Smile

commsgirl · 16/03/2014 10:10

Still nothing here. I was saying to DP that these last few days I've I've felt the least pregnant ever. Starting to get myself a bit worked up about induction now although I've still got 10 or so days to go before that would be an issue. We bought new sofas yesterday though so that's exciting.

Hope everyone else is feeling okay. We definitely need a Martian this weekend.

Em hope you're feeling better today x

Morning ladies and over due buddies Grin well im still pregnant and no signs yet. I thought i felt a few twinges last night but nothing happened. So despite having my hair done no changes!
Im going to call for a sweep tomoro but admit im feeling anxious as i dnt feel anything has changed since fri but i think they want to check my bp too as it was high again fri 157/95!! I guess we will discuss induction too.
Am still holding out for your theory fender Smile am off to have a roast dinner out to make most of sunshine and dp being home.

Goodluck ladies xx

EmFlat · 16/03/2014 11:29

Thanks Fender and Comms - felt better last night as I went out to see some friends, DH was on daddy-duty, but I'm down again this morning. Yep, the overwhelming sense of fear is crippling me, scared of everything. DH is forcing us to go out for a walk today, before he goes back to work tomorrow - maybe some sunshine will help.

Otherwise, will ring the HV just to se if she can't visit earlier than Thurs.

Still keeping fingers crossed for more Martians very soon! I do sympathise with the overdue ladies... I know watched pots never boil, but it must be so frustrating now. Sending love to all x.

DitaVonCreamTeas · 16/03/2014 11:57

Morning overdue Martian companions, still no sign of Mini VonCreamTeas. Anyone else feeling like a failure for not hatching yet? I think the pressure of being given an exact date to 'perform' on is really getting to me, does anyone else feel the same? I'm an intelligent, educated woman and I know it's irrational, but I can't help it.

commsgirl · 16/03/2014 12:17

Dita yes! Irrational isn't it but I completely get where you're coming from.

Em A walk in the sunshine sounds like a fab idea. As does ringing the HV. Make sure you're getting all the help that's available to you x

Fender1 · 16/03/2014 13:11

A roast sounds lovely MTB, we went out for brunch and t'was lovely.

Yes Em, ring the HV. Hormones are tricky beasts and can play havoc with your bodies biochemistry. If it can cause diabetes etc etc I've no doubt that

Fender1 · 16/03/2014 13:15

.... It can also cause pnd symptoms.

Dita, you've summed up how I wax feeling yesterday perfectly.
My frustration is that I've got a CS booked in for Tues and it's getting closer and closer - it's like a gestational countdown click ticking away in the background...
Don't get me wrong, I'm pleased that I get to hold my baby by tues lunchtime but it's just this time (and prob the only time) I wanted to experience something my body was meant to do. I didn't fancy induction as the failure to progress rates for women who have previous had a CS are shocking - 70% end in an EMCS at my hosp so I'm just cutting to the chase...
I guess I should try to enjoy this time, at least the weather is sunny even if my mood isn't ??

EmFlat · 16/03/2014 16:13

Dita, how you feel perfectly makes sense! This 'deadline' has gone whooshing by, and you're not in control of it. Very hard.

Comms and Fender, thanks again - the walk was nice but I'm so on edge, it's getting silly! I rang and left a voice message for the HV, hoping she'll call tomorrow am.

Apologies for the repeat post earlier! Bonkers phone connection kept telling me Mumsnet was down, but obviously it wasn't Wink

BSpice · 16/03/2014 19:14

Hi all! Hope u all enjoyed the glorious weather today! Congrats mrs on your boy! Thanks fender for my good luck with my 2nd sweep- I think this one may have worked as been contracting since! Though not close or long enough! So mtb might just be able to do a live labour feed! And emflat may have a st. Paddy's bubba after all- my work colleagues say I will then have to find an Irish name! Well I'm just gonna try and chill as the midwife told me today, as you say dita we shouldn't feel under pressure to perform to a date or be induced, as babies will come when they r ready!

EmFlat · 16/03/2014 19:41

Ooh, good luck BSpice! Smile

Fender1 · 16/03/2014 20:29

Post regular updates BSpice, I'm Wel Jel and will labour vicariously through you Smile
