Helps that im watching a comedy. The heat the one with Sandra Bullock and Melissa hart I think shes called. Really cheered me up x

eurochick · 25/04/2014 12:51

Monsters, sorry to hear you are in hospital. What prompted you to go?

DisneyDiva87 · 25/04/2014 13:55

I enjoyed that film too Monsters glad it cheered you up a little and although it's horrible being away from home and in a hospital try and appreciate the time you have to relax and do nothing.

I just massively improved a toffee crisp bar by adding a dollop of natural (no added sugar) peanut butter to each bite. I think peanut butter is my pregnancy craving, anytime I eat something I think "can I put peanut butter on that?" even my salad at lunch time. I haven't tried it but I think sticks of red pepper would go well with peanut butter (the no added sugar kind).

flymo79 · 25/04/2014 14:04

disney - that sounds right up my street! I totally love carrot sticks and PB.... mmmmm. I wish I had some now....

PinaColadas · 25/04/2014 14:15

I'm a bit like that but with lemon curd! Soo bad!

flymo79 · 25/04/2014 14:18

LEMON CURD! now you're talking... Yom nom nom

PinaColadas · 25/04/2014 14:24

Grin Pass me a spoon.

ilovemonstersInc · 25/04/2014 14:35

It reminded me of me and my bestie from high school she was the sensible skinny one I was the foul mouthed fat one lol. Very funny when she was looking for his balls lmao!

Ive never tried pb. Not adventurous enough.

Euro I had some swelling and pain and hardness in a particular part of my leg. Turned out its the 'fake' dvt which is like it but not a clot. Glad it was nothing but not taking chances so im going home (today!) On the injections im still bleeding from the one I had last night!

eurochick · 25/04/2014 14:43

Glad it was the fake kind!

flymo79 · 25/04/2014 15:33

phew, glad not a clot monsters, still sounds horrid though

ilovemonstersInc · 25/04/2014 20:56

The only problem I had was a few hours after the heprin injection the site was still bleeding Hmm but im home now. Dh is cooking tomorrow's dinner so it's out of thr way

topmammy · 25/04/2014 21:22

Glad you're back home now Ilove sounds v.scary, poor you!

I have been Mrs.Hungry today and just want to stuff my face all the time lol. Luckily working has prevented me but I can't help but think about what I fancy eating next! Currently it's a little pot of strawberry cheesecake flavour ice cream that I know is in the freezer!

Btw I Looooove peanut butter too. I like putting marge on toast and then pb on top.. so naughty but so nice Blush. Fancied this all through 1st trimester! No wonder I don't dare get on the weighing scales lol.

ilovemonstersInc · 26/04/2014 08:10

I was weighed in hosp yesterday and originally at the beginning of pg I lost some weight and now im 1kg over book in weight
dh administered the injection for me this morning. I tried but just couldn't bring myself to do it. So he poked me and held it in while I pinched fat and pushed it med in. Joint effort. Didn't hurt as much as yesterdays by the mw and it didn't bleed like it did yesterday!

Jenbee1 · 26/04/2014 10:39

Monsters it sounds horrible get well soon x

Hewhodares · 26/04/2014 13:24

Hello touching base as forgot my password yet again, it's been a while.
20week scan went well and we are having a 'small' baby - we are both short so this does not surprise me. Was relieved to see that Baby no3 has a fab looking pair of kidneys as DD(2) kidney problem was picked up in her 20 week scan.
My dad has started chemo which has been completely heartbreaking for us all to watch but am trying to keep positive.
I am however constantly in tears this week, I can't help myself. I'm just mortified that I can't hold it together as well as I normally could. I'm a wailing blubbering wreck grabs more tissues
Argh!
Just me or is anyone else very emotional?
24weeks now x

FriendofDorothy · 27/04/2014 07:01

Morning ladies. I am here but busy at the mo.

Off to the airport in a minute to catch a plane to compete in The Choir of the Year competition in Basingstoke. It is a
n excuse for a night away. 25 women, 27 hours away from their kids. What could possibly go wrong/1

mssleepyhead · 27/04/2014 09:42

hewhodares - sorry to hear you're having to go through that with your dad at the same time as pregnancy; it must be very difficult.

i'm feeling very emotional at the moment too (23 weeks) which is most unlike me. actually had a bit of a sob in bed last night over worries about various things. very odd. and unsettling. hope we both get over it soon!

weeza13 · 27/04/2014 16:26

Monster, hope you are managing ok. Hewhodares, so sorry to hear about your dad, sometimes we can get so wrapped up with our pregnancy with all the ups and downs you forget that life is still throwing all sorts Of crap at everyone else too. I hope you get some good news soon. Hope people have had relaxing weekends, went for a walk today but where I used to walk miles I seem to be done in very quickly. Now so have to re think all the routes and find some shorter ones.

PinaColadas · 28/04/2014 10:12

Hewhodares, I'm sorry to hear about your dad, I hope he is fighting fit soon. Can't imagine how hard it must be emotions wise because our hormones are all over the place. I cried last night just because DH cooked me a lovely tea and I was so exhausted and greatful I just felt really emotional about it all, now THAT is extreme emotions!!

Monster, Hope you're getting on ok too.

JackAubrey · 28/04/2014 10:25

Hi monsters - I got a clot early on in this pregnancy and have been injecting my stomach every day for bloody weeks. Honestly it gets easier - a little tip though; some injections hurt more than others ( to do with nerve endings under the skin). if you lightly scratch the skin with the needle, you can tell if it's going to hurt or not. I can more or less guarantee a pain free plunge now, and relatively minimal bruising...
good luck with it! xx

eurochick · 28/04/2014 10:27

That sounds tough, hewhodares. My mum went through chemo a while ago and it was a tough time but it seems to have done the job, so it was well worth her going through it.

Good luck dor. I'm just home from the airport. I was very relieved to be upgraded to Business, so me and the bump got a flatbed. I'm still horribly jetlagged though. My body clock thinks it's 5.30am now and that I have been up since about 1.30am....

Right, off for a doze...

memedragon · 28/04/2014 10:28

Did you win Dorothy?

I have bought one of those exercise balls to sit on as I've heard they can help prepare your muscles for labour. Does anyone else have one? Are you supposed to actually do anything on it, or is just sitting enough? I'm sitting on it now in front of the computer, sort of rolling my hips about sometimes. I expect I look silly but nobody can see me - the joys of working from home!

ilovemonstersInc · 28/04/2014 11:19

Jack I cant do it myself dh has to. This morning it hurt more and I flinched dh realised and kissed forehead after doing it which was nice at7am! He doesn't like doing it but knows it must be done. Do you wear the horrible stockings? Like flight socks?

Dorothy did you win?
Hope everyone is ok x

JackAubrey · 28/04/2014 11:34

Hi Monsters, I'm supposed to wear the horrible stockings, but really, really hate them (so don't - shhh). But just after I got the DVT diagnosis I had to go to a black tie do; wearing flat shoes, surgical stockings and unable to drink myself happy due to pregnancy. NOT FUN....
Your DH sounds lovely! Mine can't even look when I'm doing the injections, which, tBH suits me - My enormous, 3rd baby wobbly tummy covered in purple and yellow bruises - not a good look!
Do try scratching tho': honestly, most of mine don't hurt at all...
x

ilovemonstersInc · 28/04/2014 14:26

Im also on no.3. Dh hasnt said he mind but dont think he ever thought he'd have to inject his wife. Ah well. I've taken them off and put em in the wash and my legs feel loads better. Might just wear them at night? I did think the injections would be enough to stop dvt?
