Hello all! AGES since I've been on here and great to hear all the progress! So you know how I LOVE a list, anyone want to join in and post their answers?

Worst pregnancy symptom so far: - Right rib pain, arghhh, feels like someone stabbed me and just left the knife in.
Best shop for maternity clothes- H&M
Number of random uninvited bump rubs: - just one, from a girlfriend, but still felt a bit weird about it
DH's stand on feeling the kicks (A) - loves it (B) plain refuses to even touch belly (C) will hold hand but acts like he is about to get an electric shock: C - he is totally freaked out by it
(for first timers) - state of denial / preparedness: Still in semi denial of what we have let ourselves in for, friend brought a second hand cot around - we've hidden it, freaks us out too much. Not even thought about buying anything for the nursery (which doesn't exist at the moment)
Alcohol consumption - sneaked onto half a glass of wine, once a week. Don't think that can do much harm, or maybe I am a bad Mum already
One born every minute - love / hate? - I can;t even watch the trailer
And a bit personal, but sex? Into it? - struggling, no libido, don't really relax when we do.

mssleepyhead · 17/04/2014 12:12

Nice idea, and as I'm putting off some back to school marking I'll happily join in!

Worst pregnancy symptom so far :- all toilet related issues. Of which there seems to be many. And all are annoying.
Best shop for maternity clothes- JoJo Maman Bebe, for work stuff. I'm living in their wrap tops.
Number of random uninvited bump rubs : - a couple of prods from the kids at work but I'm going to get a lot this weekend when I go and visit family!
DH's stand on feeling the kicks (A) - loves it (B) plain refuses to even touch belly (C) will hold hand but acts like he is about to get an electric shock: he loved it at first but the novelty seems to have worn off very quickly!
(for first timers) - state of denial / preparedness: state of denial/worry that stops me thinking about anything practical like buying things that we'll need when the baby comes and not just cute sweaters. I have to get over this.
Alcohol consumption:- none, but now the weather's improving I'd love a shandy...
One born every minute love / hate?:- Love! Watch it every week : )
And a bit personal, but sex? Into it?:- not at all... : (

mssleepyhead · 17/04/2014 12:13

Ps. Any other teachers starting to worry about going back to work? I'm feeling really nervous about gearing myself up for it and having the energy again...

memedragon · 17/04/2014 12:40

Ooh, a survey thing. Old school...

Worst pregnancy symptom so far* : gallstones - not exactly a pregnancy symptom but related to pregnancy. Absolutely horrid.
Best shop for maternity clothes : Ebay all the way! The stuff I've been buying seems to be mainly from New Look, Heavenly Bump, Blooming Marvellous and Jojo.
Number of random uninvited bump rubs* : Just one from MIL, a bit random because at the time I was only about 4 months pregnant and there wasn't really a bump to rub!
DH's stand on feeling the kicks (A) - loves it (B) plain refuses to even touch belly (C) will hold hand but acts like he is about to get an electric shock : None of the above really, he does try to feel it but doesn't seem that impressed when he does manage to
(for first timers) - state of denial / preparedness : have been preparing a bit by reading books and planning stuff, but we have bought absolutely nothing (except one cuddly mouse). I am still very worried that something will go horribly wrong so too scared to buy stuff.
Alcohol consumption : None since the day before my positive test. I miss booze.
One born every minute love / hate? : Take it or leave it. DH watches though.
And a bit personal, but sex? Into it? : Not really, usually too tired or feeling ill.

PinaColadas · 17/04/2014 13:08

Aww yay, I love these:
Worst pregnancy symptom so far - Disturbed sleep, Turning over is hard now too, and still 15 weeks to go!
Best shop for maternity clothes - Everywhere is terrible!! I've not been a happy bunny with anything I've bought really and there is nothing on the highstreet so can't try before you buy.
Number of random uninvited bump rubs - Only a couple, and I don't really mind one bit, Rub away :)
DH's stand on feeling the kicks (A) - loves it (B) plain refuses to even touch belly (C) will hold hand but acts like he is about to get an electric shock*: C - he is totally freaked out by it - Bit of A and C, Can see it now too which freaks him out, he isn't as excited as me about it which I find frustrating.
(for first timers) - state of denial / preparedness - Bought almost everything we need, feel pretty prepared but the closer it gets the more freaked out I get!
Alcohol consumption - None other than a sip of DH beer and a sip of champagne last weekend
One born every minute - love / hate?* - I used to love and watch religiously, stopped watching it when found out I was pregnant as don't want to freak myself out!
And a bit personal, but sex? Into it? - Gradually getting back into it, and finding it more intense! If thats even possible?!

eurochick · 17/04/2014 13:22

Worst pregnancy symptom so far : The nausea wasn't exactly a joy but that has passed now. The worst thing currently is the restless legs - they drive me insane every evening.
Best shop for maternity clothes : I've found them all to be pretty rubbish - random sizing, rarely on the high street, etc. Asos and Topshop are the best of the bunch.
Number of random uninvited bump rubs : Two - the first was more of a poke from a professional contact at a work event. The second was repeated rubbing last night from a friend I haven't seen for a while who was thrilled that our IVF finally worked. She was so nice I couldn't even manage a death stare...
DH's stand on feeling the kicks (A) - loves it (B) plain refuses to even touch belly (C) will hold hand but acts like he is about to get an electric shock : He hasn't felt any yet. I only felt one on the outside for the first time yesterday evening.
(for first timers) - state of denial / preparedness : Complete denial. I still can't believe that i am going to end up a baby at the end of this.
Alcohol consumption : A glass on three occasions so far, all in the second tri.
One born every minute love / hate? : Watch it sometimes.
And a bit personal, but sex? Into it? : Not particularly bothered. Feeling fat and unattractive.

ilovemonstersInc · 17/04/2014 15:46

Worst pregnancy symptom so far : hmm can I say the worry? The lack of energy too got to me pretty bad
Best shop for maternity clothes : for me id say next but not bought much this time
Number of random uninvited bump rubs : a few! From family friends to lil sister and niece too!
DH's stand on feeling the kicks (A) - loves it (B) plain refuses to even touch belly (C) will hold hand but acts like he is about to get an electric shock none really as theres not much for him to feel as he kicks during night at stupid o'clock!

ilovemonstersInc · 17/04/2014 15:48

(for first timers) - state of denial / preparedness:im not a first timer I have 2 but when baby comes I will have 3 under 5!
Don't drink alcohol due to religious beliefs
obem love it! Seeing a life be born and then looking at dc reminds you of how precious they are
sex Easter Wink

ilovemonstersInc · 17/04/2014 15:49

Near scan buddy
hope your at scan and everything is ok!

RAFWife12 · 17/04/2014 21:09

Worst pregnancy symptom so far : The nausea wasn't much fun! The SPD has the award for worst though! It feels like I am falling apart.
Best shop for maternity clothes : New Look bizarrely!
Number of random uninvited bump rubs : One so far. I have been fairly vocal about how weird I find it though so I guess people haven't tried.
DH's stand on feeling the kicks (A) - loves it (B) plain refuses to even touch belly (C) will hold hand but acts like he is about to get an electric shock : He only felt it once, really faintly. Now no chance!
(for first timers) - state of denial / preparedness : Alter between the two!
Alcohol consumption : None.
One born every minute love / hate? : Watch it and continue to bemoan how evolution has gone wrong somewhere. Seriously- how has evolution not come up with a better way?
And a bit personal, but sex? Into it? : No chance for that even if I was into it!

DisneyDiva87 · 18/04/2014 08:52

Hey, I was too lazy last night to come on and tell you my scan was perfect yesterday Smile Baby was only a little bit naughty and wouldn't turn their head so the consultant could see their face (they did eventually). They seem to be using my bladder as a pillow as well which explains my urgent need for the loo every half hour.

Everything as expected, and they are quite a mover in there.

ilovemonstersInc · 18/04/2014 09:25

Yay for good scan news! Glad it went well buddy

eurochick · 18/04/2014 09:36

Glad it went well disney.

weeza13 · 18/04/2014 11:22

Mssleepyhead, I too am dreading going back to work as my back and hip ache has dissapeared whilst on hols but I know within an hour of being back it will start up again, on the other hand I have been really bored at home and do miss my class so have to work out the balance of working but slowing down a bit and letting others do some of the jobs. Hope you all get some sun this weekend

DisneyDiva87 · 18/04/2014 11:53

Thanks Monster and Euro wish I could go back and see the wee squrimer again.

I love that you picked a Disney-Pixar themed name, I feel like we have another bond now Monster

It's really sunny here today, what's the bet it rains tomorrow? Hubby is off today for Easter bank holiday. Or the Spring bank holiday, apparently it isn't correct to say Easter anymore...

eurochick · 19/04/2014 08:06

To continue the Pixar theme, although I refer to the baby as centime on here because of my username, IRL mr euro has christened it Nemo. Although apparently he meant it as in Captain Nemo rather than the little fishy.

ilovemonstersInc · 19/04/2014 08:37

weeza13 · 19/04/2014 19:25

Welcome aboard topmammy, am TA but not teacher if it counts but am working with yet another crap NQT which means I do her job and she gets the dosh. Not saying all nqt's are crap I just keep being placed with them because apparently I "have the experience needed to help make their year easier" grumble over, I do love my job and will miss most of it.

mssleepyhead · 19/04/2014 23:06

Hello top mammy - teacher over here! waves

Am with parents and gparents this weekend and little one is getting spoiled. Got taken out today to choose a cot and have been given lots of gifts of clothes and blankets.

Just one problem - it's worrying me... When it's just me and DH I hide in a little bubble of hope, but when everyone else is so excited too I get so scared that something's going to go wrong. I just can't get my head around this being ok. Is anyone else feeling similar?

Boudica1990 · 19/04/2014 23:21

Oh gosh I have missed loads!!!!!

Sad sorry all I'm so far behind with everything. Glad to see scans are going well.

I have had a nightmare time recently and I haven't stopped. My poor bump and I have been exhausted andreally put through the emotional ringer but all is well now. Just counting tthe days till I see DP.

Hope you are all well xxx

Boudica1990 · 19/04/2014 23:24

Mssleep I feel like you too, I don't like others getting exited and I have that dreaded "but what if" train of thought enter my mind. Even at 24 weeks and feeling him bop about I'm still not happy or content I just want him here safe in my arms in 16weeks. Xx

ilovemonstersInc · 20/04/2014 08:45

Ive had lots of lovely kicks and limbs sticking out this morning! He knows mama is a lil stressed

I've copied this from another thread would like your take on it please ladies
Ds has a background of gastric problems,
-reflux (so bad hes fed via tube)

  • chronic constipation
  • he gets bleeding on the inside too

This time last year he was constipated for over 10weeks. The only reason why he did not become really ill was because of overflow.
Hes been complaining of pain for a while now, took him gp last week and he was happy with him. He felt his tummy and prescribed lactulose. Hes already on stronger constipation meds.
His pain is getting worse. Low grade temp (37.7)
In between being sick and overflow hes happy until he gets pain. When a hcp sees him they see a happy little boy who suffers then is happy again
hes been sick 6x last night. Hes been sick this morning too.
Hes in pain and keeps saying it hurts. The gp and ooh did nothing. Wwyd?
