Our 20 week scan is two weeks today, Liss, and I'm so nervous about it too. I'm trying just not to think about it but its hard now I'm feeling him move more and know he's a little boy. I'm a worrying mother already!

HungryHorace · 26/03/2014 08:48

Scan day today. Nervous!

Mssleepyhead, it's nothing but worry from when you get your BFP til you die, I think! You're now responsible for a little person. It's a big thing.

mssleepyhead · 26/03/2014 08:53

As a natural born worrier I think I've been in training for this role my whole life ; )

Good luck today hungry - I hope it's wonderful!

DisneyDiva87 · 26/03/2014 09:55

3 weeks tomorrow till my scan Sad ages to wait.

I've ditched the heels for the first time today too, I went for a run last night and my calves felt really tight and sore and thought it could be extra strain on them from wearing heels so it's pumps from here on in. Will need to invest in a couple of new pairs I think Grin

At what point did everyone's bumps 'pop' I'm 18 weeks tomorrow and am still looking fat rather than pregnant, although big enough now to have to put the normal tights aside and stick to the maternity leggings instead.

eurochick · 26/03/2014 10:56

I'm 18 weeks tomorrow too, and I would say that I have popped (although depending on the outfit, I can just look fat). It's definitely bigger in the evenings than the mornings (so it's partly bloat!). I'll try to add a photo to the FB group later. I'm still wearing normal tights but just starting to find them a bit uncomfortable now.

mssleepyhead · 26/03/2014 12:09

I'm like you, euro. Switching to maternity tops really worked for me because before that whether I looked fat or not depended on what I wore. Now I'm wearing fitted maternity clothes it looks much more like a proper bump and I feel a lot less self conscious about it. But I really need to buy some more!

PinaColadas · 26/03/2014 14:59

Arrrrrghhhhh helllllpppppppppp!!

We were talking briefly about this yesterday on the Fbook group, baby dancing on your cervix! I'm really suffering this afternoon, It's not intermittent, it's literally STOOD on my cervix, it's been there about 20 minutes now and i'm really uncomfortable! What can I do?? Owwwwwwwch

DisneyDiva87 · 26/03/2014 15:40

A lady in our work takes in guide dog puppys for the pre-training (raises them till they are old enough to go for guide dog training) I haven't seen the puppy in ages so he is huge now and when I said "look at the size of him" she responded with "look at the size of you!" so maybe I am bigger than I think. I just feel fat when I go running and like I have a childs sticky out belly. I'm still wearing my normal dresses so maybe that's why I feel more fat than pregnant Grin.

Cervix disco's do not sound like fun pina maybe if you jump around for a bit it will encourage the baby to move?

I hope we go into labour around the same time euro I'll be sick with jealousy if I go overdue and you don't! I'll also be jealous if you go early and I don't! Wink

PinaColadas · 26/03/2014 15:46

I went for a very brisk walk round the office and round the carpark, didn't do the trick but i've sat back down and its moved now, it was sooooo uncomfortable, guess this is only the start as baby gets bigger and bigger. All worth it but still very uncomfortable!

DisneyDiva87 · 26/03/2014 16:26

Something for us late Augusters to look forward to!

HungryHorace · 26/03/2014 17:04

Scan was perfect :-)

Consultant agreed that an ELCS would be best, but I have to go to VBAC clinic next month, then a follow up / decider appt with the consultant at 32 weeks.

Owlysims · 26/03/2014 18:45

Great news on the scan hungry :)

Polkadot1 · 26/03/2014 19:24

I'm having an ELCS too- they offered me an appt at clinic to discuss a VBAC but I politely declined as said I won't change my mind!

HungryHorace · 26/03/2014 19:48

I won't either. I wasn't really given a choice though!

Lissbug · 26/03/2014 20:39

Pina - I have had the cervix jumping too. Wondered what the hell was going on at first! Having lots of other strange twinges which I assume is my little man wriggling around now he's bigger. 19 weeks tomorrow! So pleased to be getting closer to the magic 24/25 weeks when they are viable if you go into early labour!

Owlysims · 26/03/2014 22:24

Hi guys I know a few of you have been suffering with constipation and can't keep up with who's on Facebook and who's not so will update here to!!

After about 3 weeks on constipation and trying almost everything (natural remedies, upping water, fybogel and lactulose) I finally went to the doctor today and she have me a suppository (lovely) anyway I used one earlier and it worked very well, cleared loads out but cus it happened so quickly it gave me a funny five minutes! I was sweating/couldn't hear/thought I was going to pass out!!! Fine now though phew!! But just wanted to warn anyway who has to go down that route it definitely provides relief but make sure you're not alone or having to look after dcs as I needed to lie down for five minutes after those symptoms to recover! I'm sure it wasn't the suppository but the 'sudden relief' but still just be aware!!

HungryHorace · 27/03/2014 01:40

Wow, Owly, that's quite an extreme reaction. Glad you've got relief though. :-)

DD just woke us and as I could feel baby, DH put his hand on my belly to try to feel too and got a lovely reaction from baby who came to find his hand and knock against it. Twice! Friendly little child!

I'm feeling so much more all of a sudden. Loving it!

Owlysims · 27/03/2014 09:04

Gosh that suppository must have really worked last night, lost 4lbs overnight! No wonder I was feeling so dreadful with all that rubbish in me!!

In more exciting news my friends bringing her Doppler for me to borrow so will be giving it a go later! Hoping for a bit of reassurance as baby as been quieter recently! Doctor thinks it's fine as said its very normal for baby to move and you to feel them
Less before 25 weeks and also constipation may not have been helping! Anyway looking forward to give it a go later!!

DisneyDiva87 · 27/03/2014 09:50

Wow, that's a lot of poop owly! No wonder you needed a lie down, glad you found some relief and hope you are feeling better for it.

FriendofDorothy · 27/03/2014 11:39

Had my 20 week scan and all looks fine - everything in the right place etc...

And it's a PINK ONE!!!

I cried when she told me.

Rosebud29 · 27/03/2014 12:09

Yay! Congrats FriendofDorothy! And everyone else on their happy scans.

eurochick · 27/03/2014 12:11

Dor that is such lovely news.

That must have been lovely Horace. I'm not sure if I am feeling anything. I had the cervix ouchiness in the shower this morning, and definitely get twinges, but none of the flutters/popcorn popping sensations people describe as early movements.

Blimey owly! You were full of sh1t! Wink

I'm still having the opposite problem - I am now on day 11 of the gastro bug. I thought I was over it Monday/Tuesday but relapsed yesterday and went to the GP this morning as I felt dreadful. Mr euro has it coming and going too. The dr wasn't worried about centime as it isn't severe, just persistent, and just wants me to send off a sample, but the results will take a week!

FriendofDorothy · 27/03/2014 12:35

The other things she told me is that I have an anterior placenta which may affect how much movement I actually feel.

Owlysims · 27/03/2014 12:39

Euro chick GrinGrinGrin. I was indeed!!
