I'm glad you took that the right way. Grin I hope you are feeling better now.

DisneyDiva87 · 27/03/2014 13:14

Fantastic news Dor Grin Congratulations

I've not felt much movement either Euro I just get cramp like twinges which kind of make me feel like I maybe need to pee for a bit. My cousin told me yesterday that's what she had as her first movements, a bit of a weird sensation that you can't really place but that you wonder if you need the loo. Hopefully in the next week it will become move definite. My belly is really itchy this week but can't decide if its stretching related or the bump band I have started wearing to stop the seam on my leggings from scratching me...

Hope you plug up soon Euro but not as much as Owly did!

dontsqueezetheteabag · 27/03/2014 14:14

Aw dor!!! That's lovely!

We had our scan yesterday too and ours is also pink flavoured!

Bought some lovely baby girl stuff in the baby gap sale today!

DH is panicking about having a girl already!

DisneyDiva87 · 27/03/2014 15:00

I'm so jealous!

I want to have my scan and I want to know what we are having, even though I don't want to know. I'm jealous that all you ladies are finding out.

Now I'm getting over excited.

Ruggle · 27/03/2014 16:29

Well, I had my 20 week scan today, and all looked fab. We didn't want to know the sex, but I'm pretty sure I know what it is anyway. I'll be surprised but no less happy if I'm wrong!
Still throwing up regularly and no signs of this stopping any time soon. Good days and bad days...but seeing a healthly little bubba really makes it all feel so worthwhile!

DisneyDiva87 · 27/03/2014 16:33

Congrats Ruggle I hope the throwing up does die down, how horrible to still be having it. Will all be worth it in the end either way

funnyfish2 · 27/03/2014 18:20

thanks hungryhorace and misssleepyhead for the encouraging words… no bleeding since the late night hospital visit, baby still kicking up a storm. so am assuming that all is fine and it was, as you say, just cervix changing and doing its own thing.

congrats to everyone on their good news!

mssleepyhead · 27/03/2014 19:33

Owly I'm so jealous of you! I have put on a whole kilo since the weekend. I know things are growing at the moment but I can't believe I've put that much on... How big can a 14cm baby be?!

(Note my concern is not great enough to stop me eating ice cream tonight. In my defence - it's all about the calcium : )

Owlysims · 27/03/2014 21:30

Un baby related post:

Just in case anyone hasn't thought of doing it (apparently we were the first today at tesco!) if you save up
Your tesco fuel save thing and are going to use it wait until both your cars are on empty and fill them both up at the same time! We were able to
Pay for both pumps at the same time and saved over £18!!! Whoop whoop better than nothing!!

isitme1 · 28/03/2014 16:22

Hmm have I killed the thread

memedragon · 28/03/2014 17:18

So. Turns out all the upper abdominal pain I've been having wasn't just weird indigestion - I have gallstones. Ugh. The doctor suspected that's what it was so I went for an ultrasound today to get it checked out and sure enough, there they were. I can't see the doctor to talk about it for another week and a half but from our previous conversation I think the gist is I will need to have my gallbladder removed but not until after the baby is born. So that's four months of avoiding fatty foods - how rubbish!

On the plus side, the ultrasound technician did let me have another look at the baby which was particularly lovely because I'm still barely feeling movement (thanks, anterior placenta!). She was wriggling around in there so that was reassuring.

I hear gallstones are reasonably common for pregnant women, anyone else had them?

travispickles · 28/03/2014 17:19

No but it is a bit quiet these days, mainly as there is also a FB group. But you are welcome to join here- sorry to hear you have had problems. Pregnancy isn't a walk in the park for everyone is it?

travispickles · 28/03/2014 17:20

Sorry x-post - no gallstones although my friend was quite poorly after her baby with them

Sorry about the double post! My phone did something weird.

Secretlypregnant · 28/03/2014 19:29

Hi isitme1! Sorry to hear it's been hard for you so far. How are you feeling at the moment? Do come and join us on the FB group too, if you want to. We're all posting in both, but the 'bump Wednesday' pictures and scan photos are lovely to see too.

memedragon, you poor thing Sad. I've never had them - are you able to take anything for pain relief? As you say, though, lovely to see your little one wriggling around again. And when you said four months of avoiding fatty foods, I was thinking Oh my God there are only four months left!!!

Owlysims · 28/03/2014 20:44

Had my 20 week scan today, all well and it's a boy!! SmileSmileSmile

isitme1 · 28/03/2014 20:57

Thank you for invitation but I don't have fb Blush
Its never really appealed to me.

Secretly my spd really played up today and have felt pretty crap as I wasnt able to do much.

Owly congratulations! Little bouncing baby boy Grin is this your first? Boys are wonderful so loving towards their mummy!

mssleepyhead · 28/03/2014 21:03

Congratulations owly! And welcome isitme - I'm not on FB either; there are a few of us just on here : )

Had such a fun half hour this evening - DH was picking tunes and playing them to the little one, resting his phone on my belly. He was kicking away inside me to songs that had a good rhythm; it was very sweet and funny! Who knew it would be so much fun already?!

Secretlypregnant · 28/03/2014 21:14

Wonderful news, Owly - congratulations!

isitme1, I really sympathise - I had PGP in my first pregnancy and it's murder. Are you having any physio?

Secretlypregnant · 28/03/2014 21:16

mssleepyhead, how lovely! Isn't it amazing when you really start feeling the kicks? I am so enjoying the little nudges Smile.

Owlysims · 28/03/2014 21:20

secretly, I think it's just paracetamol for me at the moment - perhaps the doctor will prescribe something stronger (fingers crossed). Most of the time I'm fine but when I get an attack it's horrendous. A hot water bottle helps but I'm wary of using one because of the baby, I have to hold it at a weird angle so it doesn't touch the bump! You are right, four months is not long at all! Makes me realise I am really going to have to crack on with work - I am a final year PhD student and the plan is to get the thesis mostly finished before going on maternity leave, then tidying it up in the final few months when I come back. Very odd to think that in just over four months I should have a mostly-complete thesis and a newborn!
