Afternoon Ladies

Really sorry to hear about your Mum Friend - this must be a very difficult time of year for you.

Also sending good vibes to those suffering with headaches! Mine have mostly passed now but when I had them they were unbearable - like waves cracking across my forehead. Shame we can only take paracetamol eh?

DisneyDiva87 · 13/03/2014 12:52

I think it was me Euro, my headach finally lifted on Tuesday and I've only had twinges of one since. So much more manageable now, I'm wondering if it was just a change in hormones as I'm noticing my skin appears to be getting better now as well (finally!). Fingers crossed I'm not mistaken this time Smile. Hope everyone else gets relief from their headaches. I found a heated gel pack on my neck seemed to really help.

I want to look obviously pregnant but I'm not particularly looking forward to being so huge that everything is a struggle dragon. I'm the same at the minute, I only look pregnant to those who know but otherwise I just look like I have a bit of a belly.

Secretlypregnant · 13/03/2014 13:16

I'm so sorry to hear about your mum, Friend. My mum is the same age, and I can only try to imagine how you must be feeling. It's so good to hear that you have such a close and loving sister, dad and husband. Like you say, nothing replaces your mum, but it means a lot to have love and support around you.

I don't have a father, and am sadly currently estranged from my mum's ex, who has always been my stepfather to all intents and purposes. I'm just sitting here now composing a letter to him as carefully worded as I can, to tell him about the baby news and try to keep some lines of communication open.

DisneyDiva I think the bumps are definitely starting to pop now - on the FB page we've been posting pictures of the bumps each Wednesday and you can really start to see a difference this week!

eurochick · 13/03/2014 13:20

How do I join the FB group? I'd love to see the bump pics. :)

FriendofDorothy · 13/03/2014 13:22

I'll invite you Euro.

mssleepyhead · 13/03/2014 16:23

Thank you for all of your reassuring messages everyone. I've always been a worrier but this pregnancy lark is taking me to a whole new level... Your sensible comments were very grounding : ) hopefully after the 20 week scan I'll get a grip!

Lissbug · 13/03/2014 19:43

Hi all
Can someone invite me to the Facebook group? Am I right in thinking it can't be seen by people viewing your page? So many people I am linked up with don't know yet and I want it to stay that way!
Thanks!

weeza13 · 13/03/2014 19:52

Sorry to hear that some of you do not have the family around that would complete the picture, hopefully you have remaining close family and good friends. I have been noticing bad hip ache resulting in pain down both legs, combined with trapped nerve in my back things are getting a little uncomfortable. Had a friend point out today that she reckons I will be huge by 6 months let alone 9, ta for that one! I am 21 weeks now and enjoying looking pregnant not as if I have got a beer belly.

HungryHorace · 13/03/2014 20:01

Liss, it's a totally secret group, yes.

PM me your real name and a description of your profile picture (unless you've got an unusual name and are easy to find!).

flusteredmumto2 · 13/03/2014 21:49

Can I be a member of the facebook group too. Pretty please?
I still have headaches but kind of used to them now as well as the permanent kidney infections.

Secretlypregnant · 13/03/2014 21:59

Flustered, PM me your email address and profile pic details and I will add you.

BunnyBaby · 13/03/2014 23:05

Hi Ladies, very late 'marking my space' and just shot through the thread.

Have spent 12 days wiped out with the flu which went on my chest and completely concreted my sinuses, so haven't felt like doing much at all.

Had 16wk appointment today and heard the baby's heartbeat which was lovely after all of that.

Will try and add some more involved posts, but still quite tired at the moment.

Bunny x

Jenbee1 · 14/03/2014 08:07

Someone on the FB group recommended 4head for headaches. I bought some and it worked really well. Safe during pg too

flymo79 · 14/03/2014 08:32

eeek, 20w scan today! been awake a lot in the night, heart racing... can't wait but equally terrified.

PinaColadas · 14/03/2014 08:56

Good Luck today Flymo, can't wait to hear all about it :)

Owlysims · 14/03/2014 08:58

Have you tried Waterfall D-Mannose for bladder/kidney infections? It's a naturally occurring sugar and safe in pregnancy (unless you are diabetic etc):

Shakshuka · 14/03/2014 16:08

I have my scan in two hours but I'm really nervous because I had a really disturbing nightmare.

I dreamt that I cut out the baby's heart because I wanted to see what it looked like and thought it'd grow back. Then I went for the scan and they couldn't find the heart. It suddenly dawned on me what a terrible mistake I'd make and that I couldn't change it, that I'd killed the baby. I woke up and couldn't get back to sleep the whole night. I'm exhausted and really really shaken up by that dream :(

DisneyDiva87 · 14/03/2014 16:17

I'm sure it'll be fine, the dream was probably due to you being nervous about the scan so your subconscious pictured the worst possible scenario, maybe it got the idea from something you had watched or read.

You only have 2 hours to go, try and keep busy so you aren't watching the clock.

mssleepyhead · 14/03/2014 16:55

My dreams have been terrible recently. This week I dreamed I had to suffocate DH with a pillow to save him from being taken by aliens and last night I dreamed I had to give mouth to mouth to my little nephew after he ended up nearly drowning on the Thames after a boat ride. I guess it reveals a lot about our current mental states...

Good luck on the scans everyone!

eurochick · 14/03/2014 16:58

I had a bad night last night too - with a birth dream in which I pooed myself and was rude to the midwife and had to apologise (I hate apologising). Mr euro said I was thrashing about.

weeza13 · 14/03/2014 19:10

Hope the scans went well and you feel more relaxed now, no more nightmares. Hope you all enjoy the sunny weekend
