our crib came today :) we got the mothercare hyde crib £39.99 & a set of 2 sheets for £10/£11 and therefore were able to save £10 for spending over £50 with code generated from downloading mothercare app so either the sheets were almost free/crib was only £30. ordered mattress off boots site with our points.
code for mothercare for me was AAAP-QBYR-O3NH-UH77-IPIW
not sure if this is the same for others or if it generates a new code when you download the app. MIL got us Fisher Price rainforest play gym today, I LOVE it, so cute!

DH has moved into the spare room while he's been ill but I don't think he's coming back until bean arrives. On the onw hand that's great as I have room for all my pillows and waking up every time I turn doesn't disturb him. On the other hand, I miss him and want him to cuddle me (when I'm not over-heating) and make me feel like it will all be all right.

On the plus side, our long-awaited push chair arrived today. It's very shiny. You can all breathe a sigh of relief as now I'll finally stop going on about it...-

Hello all, can I join and be added to your list? I'm due 20th July with a wee boy, this is DC3 for me, have 2DDs already and really pleased to be having a boy this time round.
Everything has been going well so far for me except horrendous SPD which I'm waiting to see a physio for, think I have 2-3 weeks left on the waiting list.
Looking forward to getting to know you all and enjoying our last trimester.. Nearly there! Smile

ZingHasAHotCrossBunInTheOven · 17/04/2014 23:37

welcome moving
and congratulations on this pg!Thanks

icklekid · 18/04/2014 06:12

Good work mummy hadn't thought about boots for matress will investigate that!

ismarah glad you got your pushchair and that your happy with it! I was the same like a child with a new toy! I would be the same about DH love s cuddle when I need one Easter Sad

Welcome moving I feel your spd pain- physio has been amazing though so is worth the wait...my 1st though so no idea how I would have coped with 2 DC's - should also say results weren't instant as no magic cure but over time has made a big difference!

I'm sure my 'evening sickness' is getting worse- may have to go back to doctors to see if I can take something different/more often. It is just horrific and up to 6 times every evening. So grateful it's not morning as would ruin work but just a horrible way to end each day!

Baby kicks are definitely getting harder and more frequent! Went to see a friend who is 38 weeks and so ready to give birth- her first was early so think she had presumed this one would be too. I'm not expecting early as then would be so frustrated by due date let alone if I went over! DH has said it has to be on time to fit his work schedule. ..I will leave him in this ridiculously ideal bliss for now and hope nct makes him see how you can't really plan for anything! Easter Hmm

BlueC2 · 18/04/2014 16:52

Just discovered Tesco Direct has £20 off if you spend £100 on baby and toddler stuff-and the Saplings Katie crib I want is already reduced there too :) now to convince DH!!

DS full of cold and feeling v sorry for himself-all he wants to do is snuggle on the sofa and watch Postman Pat-trying to avoid him watching too much though otherwise he'll expect it when he's better too! But for now it means I can cook dinner and make Easter biscuits in peace!

ellentullo · 18/04/2014 18:58

Didn't think pregnancy would be particularly compatible with gardening, but have had a lovely afternoon in the sun with my mower and trowel. I don't think it can replace running (which I miss a lot) but was pleasant enough.

AuntieMaggie · 18/04/2014 20:56

Really struggling today as I'm in a bit of pain in the front of my pelvis again and have no idea why or how to make it better :( at least last time I knew it was because I walked for hours but today I have mostly sat/led down.out of the way while DP decorates/sorts the house out. So frustrated I can't do more.

icklekid · 19/04/2014 06:08

ellen I was also out in the garden today- had to take regular breaks but actually really enjoyed it- lots of weeding to do and first year we've been in the house so had to see what there was! Paid for it in the eve as very stiff but still. I don't run anymore but am still going to the gym as recommend by physio and the movement really helps Easter Smile

auntie hope the pain is bit better today. I have days when it's worse for no reason and get very frustrated!

I think am going to go back to doc after bank holiday as sickness is def getting worse and I'm just going to bed every night exhausted and in tears from so much sickness. I was reading a parenting book and the advice to dads was in the first few weeks mum might be more tear full, less decisive, rely on you for support and have lower self confidence. I said to DH that it won't be anything new that he hasn't had to put up with for last 7 months then!

Patchwork88 · 19/04/2014 08:57

Sounds like everyone is enjoying the lovely weather. we're having some much needed time off with my parents soooooo nice.
As 30 weeks approaches though I must admit I'm starting to feel enormous, my granny commented at one point that I look like I'm going to explode! To be honest that's what it feels like sometimes now that my skin is so stretched.
Sadly I think I'm now in the stage of not being able to sleep properly again. Anyone else getting dead hands/arms from side sleeping? If anyone has any suggestions about how to avoid this then do please speak up!!!

AuntieMaggie · 19/04/2014 09:13

Thanks ickle

patchwork the only thing I've found to help is cuddling a pillow or something.

I've just had a little panic... my app says that baby should now be moving 10 times an hour but I'm sure mw said 10 times a day... anyone know which it should be ?

jaykay987 · 19/04/2014 09:31

auntie - my app says that too. me hadn't given me a number. count the kick campaign talks more about changes to pattern. I'm keeping an eye on it - but I haven't had huge amount of movement (as first timer - me asking me if movennets are "ok" isn't that helpful!) and movements are definitely increasing so I'm not currently worried.

if you are - perhaps download a ctk app and start logging them? give you a better idea of frequency?

jaykay987 · 19/04/2014 09:31

me =mw!

AuntieMaggie · 19/04/2014 09:43

Thanks jaykay I'll try to stop worrying. I know its moving more than I can feel as we heard it when the mw listened to the heartbeat.

I think my bump has grown since yesterday so perhaps pain is related to growth spurts?

I really need some exercise - can't wait for this baby to come so I can do some!

Plateofcrumbs · 19/04/2014 10:07

auntie I definitely don't feel movements 10 times an hour - I get bursts of strong movement rather than being aware of it throughout the day.

ickle really sorry you're still suffering with sickness, it must be so miserable.

Had our first delve into the world of pushchairs yesterday, wheeling them round John Lewis most of the afternoon. Uppababy Vista and Quinny Buzz are frontrunners. Vista I liked other than really not getting on with the brake pedal - but I don't know if that is something that's likely to get on my nerves - how often do you use the brake in practice?

There are a lot of Buzzes on ebay for around £100 so am tempted to get second hand and just see how we get on with it.

ismarah · 19/04/2014 11:28

One thing we've discovered is that I feel really effing rotten in the evenings where I have the main meal of the day for dinner. If I have the exact same thing but at lunch time and a snack later, I actually feel human in the evening. It's like there's just not room for food, which considering now is when the extra calories thing kicks in is ironic.

Everywhere I go, it's bump first. Like a shield in front of me. It's weird.

AuntieMaggie · 19/04/2014 12:45

Same here ismarah and I've made the mistake of having a big dinner more than once in the past week... I then can't sleep!

icklekid · 19/04/2014 13:04

plate and auntie I read that too and I'm sure some hours I feel none and some more than 10!

I would have loved the uppababy vista but couldn't justify cost but definitely my favourite!

ismarah I haven't been able to eat in eves since about 10 weeks... just sick straight away so lunch is my main meal. I read threads on weight gain and just refuse to weigh myself. I could eat more healthily but I'm miserable enough about food as it is! Eat plenty of fruit/veg and only really 1 meal a day. If I've put too much on I will lose it after, cant eat any more...

Patchwork88 · 19/04/2014 18:24

All those discussing baby movements fear not! I think im one of the early July dates on here so am a bit further along than some and can honestly say that in the last two weeks (28-30) baby movements have got really extreme and I definitely feel it move at least ten times an hr. In fact it's kicked/wiggled/dived/pushed about 40 times since I started typing. I notice it less at work but on the weekends its almost constant...to the point now where it's getting annoying!

lentilpot · 19/04/2014 19:41

I've had a few panics about movements, last night there was a few hours where I didn't feel anything, so then spent a fair while prodding and lying in different positions before finally getting a good few kicks! At my last appointment (25 weeks) the midwife said to pay attention to NO movement but only after 28 weeks to worry about reduced movements.

She also said I should be trying to learn the baby's movement pattern so that from 28 weeks i would be able to tell if the pattern had changed. I'm now 27 weeks and struggling to see a pattern, but hopefully one will emerge!

Ipsumlorem · 19/04/2014 20:30

Sympathy to all those still feeling sick. I'm still bad in the mornings but night times have eased up now thankfully.

Auntie am literally feeling your pelvic pain tonight. Went for a waddle to the beach today and am paying for it now Sad Currently munching an easter egg in an attempt to feel better after crying all over dh.

AuntieMaggie · 19/04/2014 20:37

Well I'm 29 weeks and I'll be buggered if theres a pattern... certainly more pushing/moving than kicking these days especially up under my right rib/boob. Baby was head down spine towards right last week at mw so maybe that has something to do with it.

AuntieMaggie · 19/04/2014 20:38

Aww ipsum I feel for you :( mine is better today but could've cried everytime I moved in bed last night

Casmama · 19/04/2014 20:52

See here for more info on counting the kicks.
You might be surprised by how quickly the ten count up when you start and often I find quite small movements that I would probably only notice when focussing on it.

AuntieMaggie · 19/04/2014 22:06

Aldi is having another baby event on Thurs... do I need a travel cot? Microwave steriliser? Mountain of nappies?
