LadyTophamHatt · 16/08/2006 17:53

My dad and brother were/are called Arthur.

theUrbanDryad · 16/08/2006 17:55

aha! alfric was apparently a prince of cynaqua. wherever that is....not sure how keen i am on it now. these damn hormones....

LadyTophamHatt · 16/08/2006 17:57

LOL....as long as you don't choose something like wayne or chesney I'm sure you'll be ok.

(apologies to all parents of waynes and chesneys of course)

LTH DS3 what a clever boy doing poo on potty we are potty training in our house too how old is your ds? my dd 2 is in 3 weeks and cracked poos as long as she doesnt have trousers on (think they take to long to get down so lots of dresses/skirts) wees are okay and when I remember to keep asking if she needs to go we dont have any accidents although today in town she stood still in midlle of street squatted and said mummy need wee wee now but was okay as had pull up on just need to get her to tell me a little earlier

Congrats LTH and Elliepippa on the toilet training! No nappies LTH - very ! Do you think there is any hope of toilet raining DS before the baby comes (she says knowing that there is no hope as he will only be 18months!!) Just cant bear the idea of having two lots of nappies to change. Guess I will just have to face the smelly music!

Urban - v jealous also about the mum who makes things. My mum couldn't even sew patched on let alone make me clothes! Having said that she does do lots of other things for me and did actually knit DS afew jumpers so I am not really doing her any justice. Def think you are the youngest. I am 26 and had DS when I was 25. When did all those with more children have their first?

Cut DS hair for the first time (he is over 1 but hasn't had much until now) yest and cut the front too short as I have never cut anyones hair before. Then had to cut the rest as short so rather than a trim he has had a close shave! All the curls have gone and I am just hoping that they will grow back [hopeful emoticon)

Hope everyone else is ok. xxx

LadyTophamHatt · 16/08/2006 20:51

He'll be 3 next month so I guess I've left it late enough to do it super quick.

He's been taking his trousers off himslef and sitting on the potty so I'm well pleased.

I'm hoping the 5 month break from getting down the floor to change him will revitilise(sp?)knees and stop them creeking!!

Nemo1977 · 16/08/2006 21:05

congrates on the potty training lth...I was delighted when ds decided he didnt do nappies..although time could have been better as it was a week after dd was born...lol

ot a lot happening here..trying to control two little ones is a bit draining. Not felt baby move again so getting a bit stressed but hey ho ..

elliepippamummy · 17/08/2006 07:52

Nemo I think you have a very sleepy baby in there and you'll be eternally grateful when he/she is born and sleeps all day and night!!!! My one doesnt move at all in the day normally around 7.30 at nightwhen I finally get to sit down and relax but its not moving every day so please try no to panic to much!!

Cant remember who asked about ages when people had their first I was 24 when I got pg but 25 when she arrived and this one I was either 26/27 when I conceived as he/she was conceived on my birthday weekend (no dd for a couple of days!!!) just decided that was probably far to much info!!

firsttimemummy · 17/08/2006 12:05

Hello Ladies, im 26 and 16 weeks + 3 pregnant, im not too sure if ive felt baby move yet, a couple of weeks ago i thought i felt it, was like little bubbles in my belly ive not really felt that lately, i do think sometimes that ive just felt something but not really sure if i have or not, maybe its juat wind
bubs will be born on 29th jan so i too will be 27 when its born
Love to all you mummys x
Ps im having difficulty giving up smoking, i feel sooo bad (maybe thats why bubs aint moving im thinking has anyone got any tips?

theUrbanDryad · 17/08/2006 12:26

i was already struggling to give up smoking (and not just cigarettes, i might add.....) but found that what gave me a kick up the arse was getting pregnant second time round. i dunno.....it's difficult to give advice without preaching, but just try and remember that smoking while pregnant has been linked to low IQ and does more damage than german measles.

try having something to eat when you fancy a smoke...something really yummy like strawberries (these really helped me!) or a piece of chocolate....hey, you're pregnant so don't worry about putting the weight on! :-p i also found that i fidgeted loads when i didn't smoke, so try chinese stress balls, or a piece of straw that's cut to the same size as a cigarette. lollipops helped me too.

anyway, hope i haven't preached too much....it's difficult enough giving up smoking without people having a go at you as well! (oh yeah, and i really hated that "if you smoke, i smoke" anti-smoking campaign. i'm too cynical for that particular guilt trip to work on me!)

mrsworry - when's your birthday? i'm 18th feb.....still obsessed with trying to find out if i'm youngest or not....! sad i know....

anyway peeps, take care y'all.....xxxx

firsttimemummy · 17/08/2006 12:33

Dragonhart · 17/08/2006 12:51

Wow sound really lovely firsttimemummy. Love the idea of someone else planning your wedding. Like your own wedding planner. Honeymoon sound lovely too. What a good present!!

It is our 3rd anniversary on the 6th sept but the actual wedding seems ages ago!! Can totally understand why people renew their vows. Do you think 3 years is too soon?!

magnolia1 · 17/08/2006 12:54

Welcome and congrats on the wedding. I got married when 24 weeks pg with dd1, didn't tell the vicar and did it in a big church

I hate sleeping on my side too!!! Keep waking up on my tummy and panicking till baby moves!!

Dragonhart · 17/08/2006 12:55

My hen might is one thing I dont want to remember. For some reason thought it would be a really good idea to drink lots of shots of taquilla (sp?) just before I went home and ended up puking my gutts up on in my sisters front garden and on the side of the M62 on the way home!

Spent the next day lying on my bed with my heart pounding so hard that I was worried I might be having a heart attack!! HORRIBLE!

firsttimemummy · 17/08/2006 12:55

i think its a lovely idea to renew vowels, everything gets forgotten so quickly so it doesnt really matter how long it is does it, id say go for it!!

firsttimemummy · 17/08/2006 12:57

thanks magnolia1 xx
