Posyparker, I can't fit in any non-maternity pants either. I seem to live in stretchy comfy jogging pants! Are you feeling much movement? My bub seems to have a dance in the mid afternoon then at bedtime. I worry I'm not feeling enough movement though.

laughalot · 08/09/2006 11:51

Right ladies im going to start a thread in the ante-natal section for our gender stats girl, boy and our jan suprises im sure all the suprise ones must be girls the way the boy gene is spreading. Hope you are all well im of to york races tomorrow husband did say my outfit looked nice however he dosent think I will win miss york st leger day they really know how to make you feel great about yourself, and NO I wouldnt have entered the competition even if I wasnt pregnant . Is it today it is the photo shoot if so good luck girls cant wait to see your fab pics.

laughalot · 08/09/2006 11:55

Hi daisy dont worry about the movements when I was pg with my ds he kicked me crazy day and night now with this one she is laid back and kicks a bit in the morning and then when I get in bed.

laughalot · 08/09/2006 12:39

Daisy I think your having a girl especially if baby is not very lively by the way I love your choice of girls name its fab.

posyparker · 08/09/2006 16:10

Daisy, I get lots of movements (kicks and punches) pretty much throughout the day, especially when I eat! Doesn't matter what I eat, anything will set him/her off. Feet and hands all seem to be really low down, always right at the bottow edge of my bump, at the far left and right sides. and they all sort of kick/punch together. Maybe this means a boy?? I have 2 dd's already and really don't want to jinx or tempt fate by admitting what I might or might not want this time, iykwim.

Loubie37 · 08/09/2006 16:32

Well, I've had my scan today, and even though we were adamant we didn't want to know the sex, when it came to the crunch DH caved in so we've found out and we're having a boy!!

I'm over the moon, I had a hunch it was a boy right from the beginning I don't know why Probably because of all the worry it's already caused

The scan went really well, everything looked tickety boo, and my placenta is no longer low lying. Maybe now I can start enjoying this pregnancy lark

Loubie xx
20+6

jessddibs · 08/09/2006 16:56

Congratulations Loubie, it's unbelievable the amount of boys we are expecting on this thread! Dh says that there is no way we will be having a boy due to the law of probability...have to wait till wednesday...so worried that they won't be able to tell. At my work there has been six girls and six girls only born to six separate women in the last six years!!! So, am i going to break the pattern....oh i can't wait till wednesday...

elliepippamummy · 08/09/2006 18:15

Cannot believe the amount of boys maybe conception in april means more likely to have a boy as all the family/friends birthdays we have in January are boys! DH is desperate for a boy so I think he's hoping its the same for us.

Glad all went well Loubie and Daisypops my baby has random days where its moves lot and quiet days where I only feel it now and again so please try not to worry (mmnn because none of us ever worry about anything do we?)

coffeebeanz · 08/09/2006 22:57

Wow, these little girls are going to be spoilt for choice in 18 years time if these January stats continue. Congrats to all who have found out recently their bumps are blue !
(pink vibes to 2happy)

Had a couple of downers recently, found out I'd been caught on a speed camera a couple of miles away from home no less, so thats 60 quid and 3 points probably and then today got a total flat whilst going to pick up from school. I thought i'd try and drive slowly on it for a while and pulled into a petrol station and tried inflating the tyre but its totally had it so I attempted to start changing it. Its times like that when I realise the benefits of having a clean and tidy boot as I had to deposit wellies, wetsuits, bags boxes boots brollies everything onto the forecourt. Eventually a nice helpful cyclist stopped to help and I gladly accepted .So thats another few hundred pounds I'll have to spend tomorrow. I think its time to start looking for a new car

I've decided I needed cheering up so I've taken the plunge and just finished ordering some new togs from Isabella Oliver - a bit pricey but I'm hoping they are going to make me look as good as the models they use I had to think twice about the jeans though... £180 !!!! does anyone in real life pay that for jeans ???

Is anyone starting to bloom yet ?

carrotcake · 09/09/2006 09:56

£180!! wow, that's expensive for jeans, I've only spent odd fivers on bump bands so far but they are getting a bit tight now. Had a quick look at that site as a (richer) friend recommended it but decided I couldn't afford it for everyday. I might choose a nice dress though, for all the parties I haven't been invited to yet! Have a couple of book launches etc to go to though, has anyone found a good all rounder, I've never tried the wrap dresses?

Coffeebeanz, not sure if I'm blooming, but certainly feel better than I did over the summer, maybe MA deadline passing this week has something to do with it! People say, 'you look well' whatever that means...

Loubie, I thought you might ask in the end, most people who say they're not sure if they will seem to, it takes SO much self control not to ask if you haven't been adamant you won't. Congrats on the boy!

Feel a bit like a gatecrasher on this thread joining so late, it's taken me all this time to get used to the idea of being pregnant again, although the rapid appearance of a huge belly within a week has helped me to 'feel'pregnant. Why do people say 'are you expecting twins', as if you might say, 'oh yes, I am actually, I just forgot to mention it before'?

2Happy · 09/09/2006 10:50

Not sure I'd spend £180 on a pair of jeans. Tried on last pregnancy's pair and they'd been so overstretched that they just fall down now, so I do need to buy a new pair!
Carrot - I'm sure everyone felt like that to a degree when we started off, honestly, you're not a gatecrasher. Just post away, before you know it you'll be referring to dh/dp/ds/dd's in RL by mistake (and I find I keep seeing emoticons during conversations. Dang! Really been using MN too much! ) Mind you, I really fancy a piece of carrotcake now.... just as well there isn't a poster on this thread called chocolatechipcookies or I'd be a goner, lol! And I think actualy I am going to say "oh yes, I am actually, I just forgot to mention it before" if someone asks if I'm expecting twins, thanks for the idea it'll shut them up!
Thanks for the pink vibes
Bummer on the speeding ticket and flat tyre, CB.
Hope the photo shoot went well.
Ah, ds appears to have fallen asleep finally, am off to clean the bathroom. What an exciting life I lead...

carrotcake · 09/09/2006 11:01

ha ha, yes, have only said it in my head so far while smiling politely, might try it out loud myself. Still trying to think of polite but clever retort to friend's husband who keeps saying "well, who ate all the pies?" when he has a girth of a hippo

theUrbanDryad · 09/09/2006 11:15

hey all......well the photoshoot was AWESOME! they did all our hair and make up (very odd for me, as i usually don't wear any make up and they best thing i do with my hair is wash & brush it!) ..........it was all very tasteful and lovely and all in all i had a wonderful time! they are gonna use the photos for two weeks time i think, so we'll hopefully be seeing our gorgeous, tanned, airbrushed bodies very soon! was fab to meet you magnolia, hope you got home ok!

welcome to the new flesh and congrats to those of you with scans! nothing new to report here bump-wise, though i'm almost keeping my maternity jeans up now. we're not doing any shopping for the baby till after the wedding cause to be honest i have more than enough to think about at the moment! my dad (of all people) was on about "assembling my layette" but i can't be arsed. still doesn't feel quite real.

anyways, hope you're all well........xxx

Hattie2 · 09/09/2006 11:52

Morning - Urban, photoshoot sounds fab, what mag was it for again? Look forward to seeing it!

If anyone finds a decent pair of maternity jeans (pref that cost less than £180!) please let me know! Have tried M&S, Mothercare and Next so far and they all seem to have some sort of pattern stitching somewhere (really not me at all) or just not the right shape for me!

looshkin · 09/09/2006 11:58

Helo all,

Boyz R us or what, we are also expecting a litle ball of blue mischief to add to the mix. Finally had an antenatal appointment today my scan was organised when I was 7 weeks and had not seen hide nor hair of a midwife since - now 23+ weeks and rhesus neg. Luckily though a midwife turned up to to my work to see another patient and managed to grapple her to arrange the anti D and all that. She is also getting some info re preventing an OP baby which I will share when I've got and managed to steal a birthing ball as well to get these muscles into some sort of shape. Unfortunately another one of my work collegues has walked out with stress - she just upped and left so leaving myself and another partner to crack on - so much for "my health and saftey at work when pregnant trying not to overload me malarky" hmmmmmmm.

Congrats to all the boys and lots of pink/frilly vibes to those who need them (happy 2).

Must go and sort out house as friends staying the weekend must appear to be domestic goddess.

Ooh looking forward to seeing the pics and poo luck with the flat tyre/ticket hopefully next week will be better. And by the way Jojo Maman Baby place what ever it is called are officially crap - have told me the reason I have waited nearly a month for my clothes is they are on high shelf in the warehouse and no-one can reach them!!! lots of short people must work there maybe??Hopefuuly goods will arrive before delivery.

tweedledum · 09/09/2006 13:34

Try Top Shop maternity jeans - really quite nice and a bargain at around £35. Think they have a website if you live out of London. Or I also got quite a groovy pair of dark Gap ones a few sizes too big which I wear low with a stretchy belt to keep them up.

and I must be one of the few who isn't finding out the sex of the baby - not cos I don't want to but cos DH (is that right for hubby?) didn't want to, I did, we tossed a coin and I lost. Huh! What happened to the "you're the pregnant one, you choose" new-man line of thinking? We already have a girl, 3, can't say I really mind what we have, as long as s/he sleeps as well as our current one does!

magnolia1 · 09/09/2006 14:06

Morning ladies

As Urban said, photoshoot was great!!!! I was pretty comfortable posing naked more than I thought I would be It was great to meet you to Urban and yes I got home easily although my journey wasn't as long as yours I bet!

Dh bought KFC on the way home and I couldn't eat it, so much food stuffed in my face at lunch

Welcome more newbies, blimey we are getting busy and yet more boys!!!!!

I am trying to tidy up today but I am so lazy atm and want to sit and do NOTHING

elliepippamummy · 09/09/2006 16:14

Cant wait to see the pictures and put some faces (and bumps!!) to names. I got my jeans from Dorothy Perkins maternity range as they do short length (am only 5" so i could go and work in JoJo maman warehouse!!!!) and also they are over the bump ones as tried under bump last time but always falling down.

Better go as cooking cottage pie for DD tea and it'll be burnt soon, we've got friends coming tonight so takeaway for us yum yum!!

Cograts to those expecting boys and pink vibes to those who want them!!!

OP posts:
coffeebeanz · 09/09/2006 18:45

el123456 · 09/09/2006 19:00

2Happy · 09/09/2006 19:38

Looshkin - too high a shelf in the warehouse?! PMSLMFAO!!!! Sorry about the work thing - does anything go right there? Jeez you are really going to need your hol! Saw our friends today - who were on good form.
Hattie - I got my last pair from H&M - they have (or had 18m ago!) a good and reasonably priced maternity range.
Fantastic to hear about the photoshoot UD/magnolia. Can't wait for the magazine to come out.
Keep sending those pink vibes
