Old thread is getting full so here's a nice new one for all our moaning, paranoia and getting each other through it. Can someone do the honers and copy our edd list over? Maybe link the old thread too?

Ahhhh mum2kiss that's my fear, I didn't want my sister or cousin to be preggars at same time as me, wanted all the attention for myself for once haha hopefully won't happen to me, are you both due around same time? Your mum will be over the moon lol

binkybunny · 25/02/2014 19:58

mrsb so pleased to hear you are feeling better and have some meds that might work. Wishing kfc wasnt 20 miles away now though... :-)

Felt rubbish all day except just after forcing lunch down then dinner tonight. I'm trying to graze on small amounts all day as I think nausea is related to low blood sugar. :-(

Cakebaker35 · 25/02/2014 20:21

Wow mum2 child number 6 for your sister, super mum, I feel faint just thinking about it!

loopy thanks for sharing that experience, really useful. I am due to see the consultant to talk it all through when I'm 20 wks (so a really long way to go yet) so I'm trying to be open minded about it while everything is saying elcs to be sure of no repeat of last time, I just couldn't cope with it mentally if it happened again. But having an elcs and look after a toddler is what concerns me most. Hmm. But anything could happen before then so I'm putting it out of my mind as much as poss.

mum2kiss · 25/02/2014 20:35

Yes number 6...and she homeschools!! She's totally.lost her marbles! Shes under consultant care this time as well because her labours are really fast. Baby number 5 was born after just one contraction!

My mum will have a heart attack about my sis! She wanted her to stop at 3! I think she'll stop at 7 or 8

I am 7 weeks now due on 11th october...

is it weird that I am now even more worried about.miscarriage now?!

Loopylu84 · 25/02/2014 20:43

Wowzers Mrsb they've certainly brought out the big guns for you-Ondansetron is normally given in theatre to prevent post-op vomming-I'm sure you'll find it works!

Hello to all the newbies too Smile there are so many of us!
Just to add to the general location discussion, im in North London

Also keep having to get up to wee, and boobs continue to be agony, currently 6+5, happy days!

familyfortunes · 25/02/2014 20:52

mum2 my sis and I gave birth within 12 days last year, plus my niece to another sis was in hospital with a fractured femur...think my mum was in meltdown worrying about us all ending up in 3 diff hospitals at once Shock

Loopyaboutmy2boys · 25/02/2014 21:14

Cakebaker35 my ds1 was exactly 22 months the day ds2 was born. Vbac would have been the sensible option but i just never had any faith of it working due to the greentop guidelines. i am short, older, no past vaginal birth, male baby, birth weight likely to be over 4kg (ds2 was 9lb 3 3/4oz) less than 2 years since prev cs, and cant remember the other boxes i ticked.

Over the first 6 weeks my DH took 2 weeks paternity leave, 2 weeks holiday, and then the other 2 weeks we had either his folks or my mom come to stay, as ds1 was needing to be lifted in and out of his cot, and in and out of his high chair. I found the recovery much better from the elcs and was fine lifting by 6 weeks, much stronger than after the emcs, for the emcs I was tired from the labour, plus a 5 day stay in hospital following a major pph (3 pints) and an infection and ds needed transition care. I was awful for ages after, and on iron tablets and a crazy number of pills. The on,y thing I didn't like about the elcs is she used dissolvable stitches that took till over 4 months to go so kept catching on clothes which was v painful, whereas the emcs used a metal thread which was pulled out in the first week. Oh and mega bruising from the forceps, was tender for months and there is still a shadow on my stomach from the forceps bruising which was nearly 18months ago.

TroubleAndFyfe · 25/02/2014 21:26

It's really exciting mum2kiss! Wow at your sister's quick births! Shock
You reminded me to say, I was told I will be under a consultant this time due to DS being born (1 day) prematurely...hoping it won't mess with my home birth plans, I don't think it will, I'm expecting it just to be one appointment and to be told I don't need to be under a consultant.

vicky123uk · 25/02/2014 22:20

Troubleandfyfe where abouts r u? I only ask as my ds was 7 weeks premature and I was told I wouldn't receive any extra checks or consultant care etc. Just told it was one of those things. Ended up with emcs with him - fun times!

TroubleAndFyfe · 25/02/2014 22:39

Ha! How weird Vicky! I'm in East Sussex and he was born at 36+6, easy birth, no problems with me or him. I was told it was just protocol.

BlueberryPoppy123 · 25/02/2014 22:56

mrsb I'm not sleeping well either... My breasts start to hurt once I lay down in bed and my lower back too (never had any back pain in DS Pregnancy) may be due to the heavy furniture I have been moving last week (found out after the heavy lifting)

mum2kiss I worry about miscarriage, it's hard but I just try to think thinking about it won't change it if it's going to happen I just pray it doesn't! X

Also phoned to tell my sister, she didn't believe me and there was a log pause before she said 'you are not pregnant' made me feel bad but she genuinely thought I was pranking her... She felt awful and said congratulations once I convinced her. :) she thinks she may be pregnant too which would be cool :D

And 1 last thing... Tonight after terrible stomach pains all day I have serious upset tummy :( serious nausea going on too... I feel like dinner has gone straight through me... And the pains still there. :(

officelady · 26/02/2014 06:36

Goodness what a chatty bunch we are - I am very grateful for this thread as it's the only place I can voice my mental thoughts compare experiences, with nobody in real life knowing I am upduffed!
Well - took the big step yesterday and told my boss. The moment presented itself, the office was deserted which literally NEVER happens, so I nipped into the boss's office and quickly told her. She was somewhat astonished - a bit like I was when I found out to be honest! She did say some lovely things though, one of which was "things happen for a reason" - this was at the point when I was getting all emotional and wailing "I never in a million years thought this would happen". Anyway, I'm glad she is in the circle of trust, she's not going to tell anyone else and I can get paid time off for my booking in appointment next week - yay! ohthegoats how are you managing to not tell your work? I think you are a teacher (or have I confused you with someone else?) - don't you need time off for appointments? I found that working in a school makes it impossible to sort appointments outside the normal day and there's no flexibility in my working hours.

I'm 9+1 today. Never thought I would get this far! My trousers are starting to feel a little snug, I fear this is purely all the food I have been stuffing into my face. If I don't constantly graze I feel sick, so I have made an effort to be healthier this week and intend to eat lots of fruit and rice cakes instead of chocolate and lurpak.
blueberry hope your pains have subsided - might be worth getting checked out if they carry on, although twinges and cramps are normal at this stage.

Mrsthedog · 26/02/2014 07:00

I had dead baby dreams last night for the first time. Probably stems from me wanting to poas last night and refusing to wait three minutes before looking at the result. For 2 minutes 59 seconds we were fretting that I was not pregnant. There were two lines there after three minutes though...

Oh the anxiety.

Bumpforme2014 · 26/02/2014 07:00

Officelady so pleased you were able to tell your boss and she was nice about it. Your so far along now, when is your scan? I am 8 weeks today and felt much better this morning then I have in the last two weeks, hope this is a sign if things getting better.

mrsb87 · 26/02/2014 07:28

Oh good officelady! I bet you feel like a weight has been lifted? I'm glad she was supportive, it really is what you need.
Wow 6children!? I thought my sister was crazy having 3!
Yes loopylu the big guns are out now, after 3 hospital visits in as many weeks and I've tried cyclizine, promethazine, metoclopramide and domperidone. Nothing has really worked.had a good night's sleep andaactually have some breakfast!

ohthegoats · 26/02/2014 07:37

Officelady - I had my first Drs appointment in half term, then booking in appointment at the hospital on Saturday, then will have two private scans for Harmony and Nuchal, both of those are on Saturdays. The only issue might be if I end up with a consultant appointment in the week, and hopefully that will be after scans and after I can tell work.

ohthegoats · 26/02/2014 07:40

Mrsthedog - I have a miscarriage dream almost every night, varying in severity/fear inducement. Thing is, I'm quite pragmatic about the issue of things not working out. I'm much more concerned about the physical nature of a miscarriage for ME, than I am about the loss of a 'baby'. A coping strategy I suppose. Still, they're not very nice dreams.

pebble82 · 26/02/2014 08:33

Why don't routine scans happen at 8 weeks instead of 12 :-(

I'd feel so much better if I could see a heartbeat. No danger signs but I'm so scared of a mmc. Some info I read says they're rare but so many people seem to have stories of it happening to them.

mrsb87 · 26/02/2014 08:38

Pebble the worst thing you can do is read up on these things. There isn't anything more than what you are probably doing already to stop mc. Just try and think you've got this far and every week the chances of mc go down!
Step away from google!!!!

ohthegoats · 26/02/2014 08:45

Last night the boyfriend asked me how my day had been.. this is how it went:

I woke up feeling sick
Felt sicker
Got in bath felt better
Ate breakfast felt REALLY sick
Went to conference, felt really really tired
Ate Danish pastry, felt better
Then felt sick again
Got REALLY hungry but no food available, so felt really sick and tired
Food arrived, I fell on it like a man with no arms
Then felt sick and VERY tired, fell asleep at the table
Then felt sick all afternoon and got really bad indigestion
Came home, drank mint tea, laid down, felt better
Thought about dinner, felt sick
Ate dinner, felt REALLY REALLY sick, came to bed.
Dropped ipad on my face and split my lip
Got up to go to the loo 3 times in half an hour

By the end of listing this stuff I was laughing hysterically, and ended up crying. Pregnancy is not like this in the movies.

BlueberryPoppy123 · 26/02/2014 08:46

I agree with mrsb... Step away from google! You can type symptoms in online and you will almost always end up with worse case scenario... Positive thoughts x

Laid in bed still the nausea level is high feel is I sit up I won't make the bathroom in time! My DS watching cartoons on the iPad... bad mother

BlueberryPoppy123 · 26/02/2014 08:48

ohthegoAts I was laughing by the end too!

bythesea82 · 26/02/2014 08:55

Thanks ohthegoats, having a panic morning but that did make me laugh! Hopefully a better day today!

bumpbangbump · 26/02/2014 09:11

Just checking in. Been so busy back at work and so tired in the evening that I haven't had a chance to post. Been reading though which is making the time pass. 8+3 today. Only 3.5 weeks until scan.

Sorry for no personals but the boy is calling and the sun is shining so we're off out while it lasts.

Oh and I'm Sussex too! Just moved from Brighton and Hove to West Sussex though as it was a bit cheaper!!

I'm in north london. Went to the docs yesterday (i'm nearly seven weeks) and they said the booking in app (urine test, weight etc) happens at the same time as the scan i.e at 12-14 weeks.
Quite surprised at that! So i have to wait till early-mid April to get anything checked. Anyone else had that? I know it sounds nutty but wanted some assurance I am actually properly pregnant (four positive tests, no period but no symptoms at all beyond a bit of heartburn which could happen anyway) and was hoping to get a booking in app with a midwife prior to scab.
Bit anxious. Silly I know!
