Old thread is getting full so here's a nice new one for all our moaning, paranoia and getting each other through it. Can someone do the honers and copy our edd list over? Maybe link the old thread too?

Still a week today until I need to go back to epu for scan re: drama last week. Trying to stay busy, but quite frankly I'm pooping my pants about it and so nervous it'll be bad news. Hoping all the gagging/nausea is a good sign! It's going to be a long week!

TroubleAndFyfe · 25/02/2014 15:14

Welcome to all the newbies! Bythesea are you in a big town too?
Definitely go and get it checked out Toffee - thinking of you!
Had my booking in appointment today (8 weeks!) and the midwife was great, really supportive and enthusiastic. Grin Took vial upon vial of some blood and gave me 42 trees worth of glossy leaflets.

TroubleAndFyfe · 25/02/2014 15:15

Oh, yes, sorry to hear you're back in hospital mrsb, what a terrible time you're having! Sad Thanks

Cakebaker35 · 25/02/2014 15:26

Sorry to hear you're in hospital mrsb, very much hope you feel better soon.

I feel like the world's worst mum today - I'm absolutely shattered, could sleep standing up I reckon, and poor dd is therefore having a boring day and too much cbeebies Blush very unlike me not to be able to make it out with her for a good walk but I just can't put one foot in front of the other. Please tell me I'm not the only one!

sazzlehopes · 25/02/2014 15:47

MrsB- you poor thing back in hospital. What a start to pregnancy. Hope the new meds sort you out soon.

Trouble - oooh booking in apt - yay a bit closer now! Did she say when your scan will be or do you have to wait for paperwork to come through separately?

Cake - hand holding defo nearer our cs/vbac decision time. Be nice to have someone other than DH to chat it over with...

ohthegoats · 25/02/2014 16:05

Cake - same - shattered, and fell asleep at the table after lunch at the conference. Woke up to some very suspicious looks from my colleagues. I suspect they've worked out what's going on.

CareBearWithFangs · 25/02/2014 16:05

Cakebaker can I join in the worst mums corner? We're on our second Disney film this afternoon and I've barely done anything around the house.

Mrsb hope your hospital stay isn't too long and they give you some meds to make you feel better.

Cakebaker35 · 25/02/2014 16:18

Thanks all, glad it's not just me but sorry you're feeling shattered too. ohthegoats that's a very funny image of you asleep in your conference papers Smile I think you said you're in Oxford, so I'm v near to you.

Midwife just called to arrange my booking in, she asked how I was feeling so I said I felt like I might like to sleep for the next 7 months or so please Grin

ohthegoats · 25/02/2014 16:22

Oh it wasn't a logical sleeping position - I was sat bolt upright at a restaurant table. Someone said 'erm...' before I had a chance to properly fall asleep and start slumping. All class, me. Jesus. If I'd been at school it would have been V bad.

bythesea82 · 25/02/2014 16:23

Trouble-not in a big town, just outside Lewes.

Feeling for those running around after children, I am exhausted just walking the dog! Another exciting early night coming up!!

Cakebaker35 · 25/02/2014 16:33

Brilliant ohthegoats I'm picturing a little bit of dribble at the corner of your mouth Smile

mrsb87 · 25/02/2014 18:50

Hello all I'm home! On an aggressive anti-emetic called ondasentron now. Its made a HUGE difference already. So much so I just scoffed a kfc and its still in yipee!! Feeling a lot more human again.

Ohthegoats that made me chuckle! Poor you, must bd awkward trying to keep it all to yourself when you feel like your so obviously preggers! I know the feeling though, I'm completely shattered but just don't find I'm sleeping well at all. I keep waking up, tossing and turning and feeling sick all the time. Anyone else not sleeping well or is it just me?

pebble82 · 25/02/2014 19:04

Not sleeping well either mrsb. And when I wake up my boobs ache so much. They feel like two heavy bowling balls attached to my front. The aching dies off during the day though, just slightly tender when I press them.

Congrats on being able to eat a KFC :-)

I'm having a worry day today. Told my boss and she looked concerned and pitying at me speaking up too early. First reaction was "oooh you're only 7 weeks, eeek, still very early" :-(

ohthegoats · 25/02/2014 19:08

I haven't been anywhere near as bad as you Mrsb, but the eating when not feeling sick is SO AMAZING. I had a chicken phase. Currently into cereal.

I'm not sleeping well at all. I'm really restless, hot, constantly in need of the loo (record was 10 times in one 8 hour night), and my boobs hurt every time I turn over so I wake up. From around 5am onwards, once I'm awake I'm awake - the nausea starts and my stomach starts swilling around. Not nice. BF is a light sleeper, so he keeps getting woken up, so there's some guilt involved too.

mrsb87 · 25/02/2014 19:12

That wouldn't fill me with conference either pebble, I guess you just have to take every day as it comes. She might have been trying to cover herself maybe? Some people's reactions are strange sometimes. We're all happy for you and I'm sure you'll get lots of excitement from friends and family....who cares about what your boss thinks Wink

mrsb87 · 25/02/2014 19:16

Ohthegoats my poor dh isn't sleeping well either as he's just worrying about me the whole time! Bless him I feel really awful because he is practically doing everything for the both of us plus running his business plus running me to the hospital every week plus doctors appointments.
Does make me realise how lucky I am!

TroubleAndFyfe · 25/02/2014 19:18

I've already got my scan date sazzle - - 28th March! (12+3) Smile
Yay for mrsb eating something! Long may it continue!
Poor you ohthegoats! Blush
Bythesea Lewes is lovely!

Bumpforme2014 · 25/02/2014 19:21

Hello everyone! yay mrsB so glad you found a cure. Interesting to hear people starting to tell their bosses now, I really want to as well but just seems so wrong to tell him before our own parents.

I also now have a slightly raised firm bit underneath my belly button :-) makes it seem so real now.

My apetitie seems to have returned today which is nice, was off all hot food last week. Still incredibly tired and now gagging all the time as well which is so annoying.

I think couple of people at work may have guessed, don't have energy to do my eye make up anymore and also broken out in pimples all over my face (and back). Avoiding all work drinks as well but I don't care I'm desperate for people to realise I'm not just being a miserable moody cow.

PunkyBubba · 25/02/2014 19:30

MrsB glad you are feeling better :-)

Cake I do have the added excuse of having a stinking cold/cough etc but spent Sunday morning (while DH was out), and most of today with DS next to me on the sofa with TV on.. think I will join you in the bad mums corner too.

At the moment I am sleeping half the day, and all night, but that is the cold I think!

Pebble I had the same reaction from my (male) boss when I told him I was pregnant with DS when I was 'only' 7 weeks. I just think it is because they don't normally hear about it until at least 12 weeks or later so it surprises them.

ohthegoats · 25/02/2014 19:32

seems so wrong to tell him before our own parents

Exactly. Not telling parents until at least after viability scan on 8th March (Harmony test that day too, but viability is the important bit on that day), so definitely not telling boss until then either. I think I might be up for parents knowing then, just because if it's good news then yay, if it's bad news then I'll need some help being off work. So either way they'll find out.

Loopyaboutmy2boys · 25/02/2014 19:35

Re cs versus vbac, I had emcs with ds1, was a cat 1 under GA (was meant to have been a calm home water birth!). after a lot of discussion and research, I opted for an elcs for ds2. I based my decision on the RCOG green top guidelines, which suggested that I ticked a lot of boxes for an unsuccessful vbac attempt. Right up until the day before the cs, ds2 was in a good position but overnight he went back to back and I started to get contractions. The consultant saw me in the morning as planned and even then offered to break my waters to enable a vbac attempt, until she checked the position and decided that I was unlikely to succeed. This is the same consultant that was trying to convince me all along that vbac would be fine. She then went on to deliver him by cs, and he was so big and so wedged in she had to use forceps to pull him out. She admitted afterwards that the elcs was the right decision and it would have ended in an emcs if I had tried a vbac, as I am petite and my DH and our babies are not.

Not intending to scare anyone, just to make it clear that whilst vbac can work, it does not work for everyone and is not always the right choice.

Ps ahem the uterus doesn't rise out of the pelvis until after 12 weeks...just saying....might be all the cheeseburgers being consumed out there ;)

mum2kiss · 25/02/2014 19:55

I just told my sis I am preggers and she has reveales that she is too! Shes 12 weeks with her 6th child! My mum is going to have a heart attack!

pebble82 · 25/02/2014 19:56

Wow mum2kiss that's amazing! Happy families :-)

puppythedog · 25/02/2014 19:57

Whoa, let's not go throwing allegations at the cheese burgers. Strikes me that's jumping to conclusions and I'm not sure why it's the cheeseburgers that get trouble.

TroubleAndFyfe · 25/02/2014 19:57

How exciting mum2kiss!!! How many weeks are you?
