I am glad to see the back of that essay Grin it is done, it sounds pretentious and is absolutely awful, but at least I am handing something in!!! Managed to go over the word count too! (but still in the 10% margin so I don't have to cut anything out)

Minions · 25/02/2014 16:09

Dobe, what a nightmare of a guy. So glad the other director got in touch with you, sounds like you'll have support. You absolutely should not have to work with numpties when heavily pregnant. (I've embarrassed myself crying at work too but it was before I was pregnant...the shame!)

And yay moomin - that's brilliant! Treat time now for you (I'd go for choc buttons given a choice :))

MoominIsWaitingToMeetHerMiniMe · 25/02/2014 16:15

My mum's bought me a pic'n'mix haha!! I can enjoy it now Grin

dobedobedo · 25/02/2014 17:16

Thanks for the support again everyone! It's also comforting to hear I'm not the only one crying at work! Blush

I got back to the office and he apologised and he feels absolutely awful. (Good! Ha!)

I also went to the midwife and baby is bang on for dates. It's Mr Average, middle of the line Baby, which is good! There was a high level of ketones in my pee sample though so she told me I need to eat more. I've lost about a kilo or two in the past couple of weeks, but I have just not had the appetite to eat an awful lot! I had a good 6 weeks of being ravenous and eating everything in sight, but it's tapering off now. I should probably buy some crackers or snacks and things I can eat at my desk every so often whether I'm hungry or not.

I must say, it's a real head wrecker to be told to eat more when I'm overweight with a bmi over 30! Confused

MoominIsWaitingToMeetHerMiniMe · 25/02/2014 17:40

Glad to hear midwife went well dobe

And so he should feel awful!! No sympathy at all for him!

loopylou52 · 25/02/2014 18:13

Sorry you've had such a crap day dobe, but glad your mw appointment went well (aside from the ketones thing obviously, but a licence to eat more doesn't sound too bad!). Glad your manager sorted out the moron and hope you're able to keep your distance now.

Well done on finishing the essay moomin!

Dammit bornin, I was hoping you'd say giving birth is much easier than portrayed on TV! Wink

Irisheyessmiling · 25/02/2014 18:39

Helllllooo everyone. Hibernated for a while there been catching up on posts. So sorry to those having a tough time of it. Dobe I'm glad the prick feels awful hopefully his guilt will make him think next time he opens his mouth!
Dh just out for his driving lesson. Test a month before due date. Nothing like cutting it fine eh?! Actually feel quite panicked about it but obviously trying not to show it so he doesn't feel more pressure than he already puts on himself! Will be bloody lovely to share the driving though!
Hope everyone's doing ok, lots of stressed out mamas on here atm by the sound of it Sad

Ps moomin I was the queen of last minute at uni. Once did five essays in one horrible afternoon and night. They were always better with the injection of tears, despair and sheer bloody panic!

Bornin1984 · 25/02/2014 20:02

6 vest, 6 babygrows, one Cardigan and one goin home coat and two blankets!!!! A packet of nappies and a packet of scratch mitts and two hats....is that enough for hospital bag?

Xavielli · 25/02/2014 20:15

If your having a c section that sounds great Bornin as you have to stay a bit longer I think? I'd be tempted to pack a second small lot of baby clothes in a separate bag for DH to bring in incase of poonamis.

For a 1 night stay I'm taking 3x vests, 3x sleepsuits, 1x going home cardy, 2x hats (first one gets mucky) 1 outdoor blanket, 1x cellular blanket, 1x flat sheet for swaddling, 10x nappies and 2x pairs of socks (because I have issues with babies having cold feet .. Lol)

Xavielli · 25/02/2014 20:17

Also a bag of thick cotton wool squares - much better than wipes for meconium removal.

SarahJinx · 25/02/2014 20:18

Evening ladies, sorry not to read properly just after a bit of advice if poss please? Whooping cough today and feel really really rotten tonight, headachy, nauseous, bit wobbly etc, anyone else?

Can't find anything online, hoping not about to catch some horrid bug!

Really appreciate any feedback x

Xavielli · 25/02/2014 20:20

I might go and start packing my hospital bag up as a distraction - I'm so so itchy this evening. I had to get the eldest two kids to scratch my feet with hairbrushes before they went to bed. I'm currently sat with my feet flat on the window pane to cool them down. I can't stop crying :(

MoominIsWaitingToMeetHerMiniMe · 25/02/2014 20:36

My pulse is up at 120 beats a minute and I can't keep up with it. My pulse doesn't seem to have been under 100 for a couple of weeks now!!! Sad

Bornin1984 · 25/02/2014 20:55

Xav, have u been to be tested at the hospital? Can u have piriton? X

NannyPlumForPM · 25/02/2014 21:00

I felt the same after mine sarahjinx dizzy etc sicky and run down - felt much much better couple of days after so have faith!!

SarahJinx · 25/02/2014 21:01

Oh oh! Thank you Nanny!

Xavielli · 25/02/2014 21:01

Already on piriton and urso :(

MrsFooCough · 25/02/2014 22:24

Huzzah for bosses making dobe's nightmare sales knobhead feel guilty! And huzzah for moom's last minute essaying - it was literally the only way I ever got any of my assignments done at Uni. I was terrible! Haha!
Got a cheapo yoga ball to sit on, but it's not got burst resist so until we can afford a proper birth ball I've got to sit gently on it and not bounce (so hard not to bounce - it's like a lovely big pink Spacehopper!!)

pickletalk14 · 25/02/2014 23:07

Hi everyone. .. too much to catch up on and I can't remember names ... but glad everyone got through the day! Xav your hairbrush comment did make me smile, sorry you're suffering for it.

Watched Call the Midwife AND OBEM last night- it was labour crazy in our house!

ClearlyMoo · 25/02/2014 23:46

Can't sleep again so just catching up on all your news. Sorry if I miss anyone out- there was loads to catch up on & my addled pregnancy brain can't remember everything!

Dobe, what a prick making you feel like that. I'm glad he feels guilty now. I hope you're feeling much better too.

Xav really sorry to hear you're in such discomfort. Can they not do anything for you at all to make the itching better? Sounds horrible that you're having to put up with that.

I caught up with obem & yes I was actually crying about 5 mins into the programme!! I love it though. It's such a miracle that we are lucky enough to experience. Sad to hear it's not like that in RL - understaffing sounds like a massive issue.

Well I caught a glimpse of myself in one of the mirrors at work yesterday & I looked so much bigger than I imagine! In fact I believe I have officially turned into a full on waddling pregnant woman who just feels uncomfortable all the time!

Bornin1984 · 26/02/2014 07:46

30/40 ..... Where did that come
From !!!

Bornin1984 · 26/02/2014 08:25

Does your taste buds change as you progress through pregnancy!

wm3010 · 26/02/2014 08:42

Morning all. Sorry to hear some of you are having a tough time, dobe and moomin, hope the worst is over. xav that sounds horrible, I hope you manage to get some relief soon.

All well here really, apart from insomnia back with a vengeance. If one more person tells me to sleep while I can, I will scream as I am trying everything - regular exercise, warm drinks, not too much fluid before bed, loads of pillows etc etc. My mum said to me yesterday "at this rate you will be exhausted by the time the baby arrives" and I know it is with the best intentions but it just so unhelpful as what can I do about it?! Anyway, rant over and I count myself lucky that I only have such a minor problem.

ClearlyMoo · 26/02/2014 09:04

I could cry! Hmm I'm struggling with pelvis pain today. Walking hurts. Managed my commute in and ok seemingly when sat at desk but loos being upstairs and wandering round office = ouch! Colleague/friend just said "you've got another two months of this" and I shrugged and said "that's not helpful", but back at my desk I'm almost in tears. I know she was just being friendly but it was totally the wrong thing to say. Oh goodie my odorous colleague has just arrived and us wafting his odour around next to me. Think hormones must be going up to a new level as was quite perky this am in spite of pelvis pain but now at work feel all weepy!

Wm- second that frustration of people saying unhelpful things!
