Hiya Catcarvell
Really sorry to hear that you have come to the end of ye treatment. Wont you get the IVF free, cos i am just waiting for my appointment to come through, had a letter from the womens hospital saying there is a 6 mth waiting list but the letter also explained everythin to me about the next steps that would take place with me and there was no mention of any funds to be paid!
If i won the lottery you would be the first person i would send a chq to hun (but not much luck of that as i dont do it lol). I am due to do a test today but i dont feel any different so there goes another £12 down the loo. Take care of you and keep in touch xxxxxxxxx

Hi, I've been prescribed Clomid 30mg and due to start taking it next cycle. We've been ttc for nearly 2 years. Have had the tube tests and it was the most painful thing I've ever done! Tubes went into spasm so it didn't work, so then they did a laparoscopy in March 08. They found a small amount of endometriosis, but they've said it's mild so shouldn't affect conceiving too much. So now they've given me Clomid so I came home and started looking it up etc, and have read all the comments on here and now I'm really confused!! My specialist hasn't said anything to me about ovulating or not ovulating, do I assume that I am? I have normal periods every 28 days, so does that mean I'm ovulating normally?

Also, have read that a lot of you have to go and have blood tests, scans and other tests throughtout your cycles, but I'm not due to have any? He just said that my tubes are fine and shouldn't have any problems.

The only other thing I thought of when trying to work out why we hadn't got pregnant yet, was the fact that we like to use a lubricant during sex. Does anyone know if this is harmful to sperm?

Natz20 · 17/05/2008 19:18

Has anyone on here whos taken clomid fallen pegnant with twins?
I understand it is used for many different fertility issues but I have read that it increases chances of having twins.
Sounds silly but i dont have fertility problems I havve just always wanted twins (already have 2 kids of which i am very grateful for) but how likely would a doctor be to prescribe it for just wanting twins?
How safe is it to take clomid when its not prescribed?
Thanks!

Hi all, it was great reading all the stories above, good luck to those of you who are still trying and congratulations to those of you who have concieved. Me and my partner have been trying for almost a year now with no luck. We have had all the necessary tests (lap and dye) etc which all came back with perfectly normal results. I have now been put on clomid 50mg for 3 months and start my course in about ten days. We hope all goes well and will keep you updated on any progress....x

Hi all,

I have been ttc for nearly 3 years now, had all the usual tests and they say I have slight PCOS but also don't ovulate very often. Have been referred quite quickly to Fertility Clinic, and am currently on day 3 of my first course of Clomid. Not been too bad so far just feeling a little bloated sore in tummy. Going for scan next Tuesday so hopefully will have something to work with then .....
Good luck to all x

Angel008 · 21/05/2008 10:48

Ridders · 21/05/2008 22:53

In reply to the previous post by Natz20 dated 17/5/08, I would like to explain why I used clomid - to conceive because I couldn't naturally. We 6 years of trying to concieve (3 of those spent in and out of hospital and fertility units), not to mention the numerous painful tests to determine the reasons for my infertility and most upsettingly the emotional rollercoaster both my husband and I endured during this time. Miraculously I conceived and am blessed with a son who is now 8 months old.

I'm not sure that you are aware that the use of clomid has been linked with cervical cancer and pregnancies of more than two babies so the decision to take the tablets is one not to be taken lightly.

"Sounds silly but i dont have fertility problems I havve just always wanted twins (already have 2 kids of which i am very grateful for) but how likely would a doctor be to prescribe it for just wanting twins?"

I feel that your above comment is extremely insensitive to couples out there who are desperate for just one child. Have you read some of the previous posts? I think you should count your blessings with your two beautiful children and leave the clomid for people who really need it and deserve it.

feduplady · 22/05/2008 10:52

Hi Angel008

Thanks for your message, it's reassuring to know other people going through the same things, as you can feel like you going mad sometimes lol. I haven't felt too bad at all really, feel bit rough today, banging headache but who knows I could have had that anyway.

Good luck to you too, let us know how u find the Clomid. I will def keep everyone up-to-date, Take care
xx

Angel008 · 22/05/2008 21:37

Hi fed up lady, you poor think hope your feeling better now....its like nearly 12 hours later lol......yeah i will defo let you know how the clomis goes and keep posting messages on here.

Ridders I totally agree with your message. People should count their lucky stars ans feel blessed with even one child so how can Natz20 not feel blessed with two?!

Im really sorry you had endure all of that but its said that patience is always rewarded, it takes time but you reap the reward in the end and finally you have ben blessed with a son. Great news.............

Natz best of luck with wanting to try clomid but you should take peoples feeling into consideration when you post messages on here, the majority of us are just trying for our FIRST child after many years of waiting and wanting.

Angel008 · 22/05/2008 21:41
