Wallacex · 06/08/2008 16:58

Hi guys,

Am back from my holiday - sort of chilled but hormones having me playing havoac with my system - trying to catch up on all the messages;

Hopeful a sincere congratulations - it gives hope to us all. keep us posted on your news.

Angel - how are you getting on?

Sarah - sorry your not pregnant, how are you now? Im trying not to think about it too much but i think if my second round hasn't worked i will be so gutted.

Good to see some new faces appearing.

Sarah1109 · 06/08/2008 19:25

Hi all,

Hopeful congrats to you and dh. You must be so excited.

Wallacex Thanks. I'm OK. I've not taken my Clomid this month. DH and I have decided to take a break. It's been getting too stressful and emotional, and I think we've both reached the end of our tether!

I have mixed feelings about it at the moment, coz we really do want a baby. I think DH has given up entirely at the moment though.

I don't really know where I'm supposed to go from here!!

Good luck to you all and take care - I guess I don't really qualify to post messages on this thread anymore!!

xx

Angel008 · 06/08/2008 22:12

Hiya sarah,

Dont let it get you down, you sound quite upset....Chin up. Hope we all still hear from you on here and your not just going to dissapear.

Many a times when people stop using clomid it works, so pleae dont give up.

xx

Wallacex · 07/08/2008 08:09

Hi Sarah

I know exactly where you are coming from - i have only just finised my second round and am fed up with it already. My hormones have been driving my mind, don't know where i am from one minute to the next. Like you, after this round im not sure i want to take anymore, its just so stressful and emotional. Its all i seem to think about and am sick and tired of it.

On the other hand - don't give up hope - there is times when it gets hard, but somehow you find a way to muddle through.

Good luck in whatever choice you make xxx

Angel - when are you due for your bloods?

Angel008 · 07/08/2008 11:22

Hiya wallacex

I due for my bloods on 18th august, monday. Why are you all letting it get you down, i suppose were all different and take toclomid differently. But why are you guys thinking of stopping it. Especially when weve been put on it t help us concieve if we didnt need it we wouldnt be on it.....

I personally dont think either of you should stop, just try not to think about it i know its hard but just get on with your day to day stuff and you wont even realise. Im on my 3rd round andmaybe it will work maybe it ont but il just carry on cause sometimes some concieve in the 6th month. Othes after stopping concieve, but i think you should both speak to your consultant first and see what they say.

cheekymonkeywanted · 07/08/2008 11:48

i agree with you angel, you have to just pretend its part of your life, i relised after taking first cycle and it not working its not going to be easy. So i take the tablets on my days as if they are just vitimins and then get on with the rest of the days, although i am lucky i dont get many side effects.

Dont give up ladies, maybe if its right for you just take a little break and start again,it might just be a little rest that you need? But definatly have a chat with your consultant or maybe someone who is not involved so you can let your feelings out without feeling like you might hurt your dh feelings. You have to take a little time for yourself to get refreshed.

Angel008 · 07/08/2008 14:58

I know cheeky monkey, thats what im like to. Its just a part of what i do now i dont even think about it any more, cause the more you do the harder it gets. Iv let it get me down before but i dont bother now. If its gona happen its gona happen, If its not its not. I cant let myself get so depressed and maybe it will never happen and ive wasted my years away, on the other hand il be depressed and it will happen and il think why couldnt i have just been happy cause its gone and happened now anyway sowas pointless being depressed if that makes any sense!

So im just being me, doing my own thing, not even thinking about it really, its just one of those things that we cant change or make happen. Ive just taken up hobbies that keep me really busy and get on with what im doing.

Sorry for going on everyone lol!

loopylou99 · 07/08/2008 15:40

just reading the last post Angel and cheeky monkey...i was just after a bit of advise... I am on day four of my first round of 50mg and luckily do not feel any different...do you think its too early for side effects or do you think im lucky and should not get any if none by now..? Thank you xx

boogliewoogliepiggy · 07/08/2008 17:32

Hey there everyone
I start clomid on Saturday. My husband and I have been ttc for a year, have now been prescribed clomid. Am excited but also nervous. Some of the side effects sound horrendous - please reassure me that it really isn't the majority of people who get these... [gulp!]
Good luck to everyone on here.
Would love to find a clomid buddy to talk to - as we're not discussing this with 'real life' friends and family for reasons far too convoluted to bore you with!

boogliewoogliepiggy · 07/08/2008 17:34

PS Has anyone got any thoughts on the recommendation for taking Robitussin (the one containing guaifenesin)? (I have seen this recommended on LOADS of the US discussions)

loopylou99 · 07/08/2008 17:38

spoke too soon... ive been sitting with a flannel on my face for the past hour...hot hot hot!!

loopylou99 · 07/08/2008 17:43

Hello Boo...for short!! As you can see by my last couple of messages...i have been fine so far apart from the hot face...its a very warm day anyway...i have read a lot of people saying that the side effects only last while your taking them so at least if u do suffer any side effects it wont be for very long!! Wishing you all the luck in the world xx

Angel008 · 07/08/2008 18:59

Hi Loopylou and Bboogliewoogliepiggy.....

Ok first of all Loopylou, If your on your 1st round of clomid and havent had any side effects yet then thats great. Im on my 3rd cycle. On my first cycle i had severe headaches and when i was ovulating i had very bad ovulation pains. Aso was very hot. So you have the hot flushes but not headaches. Thats good. Hot flushes have still remained for me throughout cycle 3. Good luck with your course. Any other advise just ask xx

Hi Bboogliewoogliepiggy.....

Mu husband and I had also been trying to concieve for a year and were put on clomid 3 months ago at 50mg for 6 months. Unexplained infertility. The side affectes are really just what i have mentioned above and nothing serious at all so dont worry. They arent horendous at all lol trust me you wont even know your taking it.....so relax.
Very good luck to you and your hubby - I am also another one whos family and friends havent been told either for afew good reasons! so they just think im waiting because i want to.It does get hard at times with no one at all apart from dh to talk to so this sites a great support network. You can add me to msn if you like its [email protected] im on there most days and wont mind chatting......xx Good luck hun

Angel008 · 07/08/2008 19:00

sorry spelt boogliewoogliepiggy wrong both times lol

cheekymonkeywanted · 07/08/2008 19:15

hi loopy, yeh i was/am lucky just finished my second round meant to start period next week or not (fingers crossed) and havent realy had any serious side effects. My breast get a little heavier and bigger around the 3rd week and get one or two short spurts of pain but only last a second or so. But dont have anything while taking the tablets. Thats why i thought it had worked the first round because my breast were bigger and tender nipples (theres another one) but the week before my priod, so around the time you could have pregnancy symtoms, so i would advise (not to put a downer on it) but try not to get too excited until you have missed a period or done a test...
