Hi Hopeful

Everyone seems to be the same situation, wishing the weeks away. I finished my last clomid tablet yesterday (first cycle) and i feel dead rough today - lack of sleep i think.

Its quite hard not to get excited, i too end up doing this while im suppossed to be working, i sneak on sometimes just keep abreast of what's going on.

Hope the clomid treats you well xx

hopeful1 · 02/07/2008 09:10

Hi Wallacex,

Thank you for your reply.

I really hope it goes okay for you.

This site is really helpful, it really gives you hope and support.

Did you have any side effects from the clomid??

Let em know how you get on....fingers crossed for us both!!

Wallacex · 02/07/2008 13:40

Hi Hopeful,

I agree that this site is really good, though i keep trawlling through the internet to find our more info (think im becoming obsessed) lol.

I think i must be one of the lucky ones, i didn't seem to bad when taking the clomid, i had a couple of headaches but never last that long and weren't bad, i didn't have hot flushes thankfully, but i did have trouble sleeping, whether that was me being over excited or the tablets im not sure.

When do you start yours? Let me know how you get on x

hopeful1 · 02/07/2008 15:54

Hi Wallacex,

It is so strange how people react so differently from clomid, glad it wasn't too bad for you though....think you are lucky in that respect.

I start clomid as soon as my next period arrives which should be anytime from friday to sunday of this week. Then I have to go for a scan on day 12 then IUI within a few days of that. I have to do ovulation testing from day 11....so much to remember!!

I am a really impatient person.....we have spent a year going to lots of hospital appts....just want to get on with it already

I dont think you can help but get obssessed its a tad all consuming!!!

Good luck, and let me know howw you go x

Sarah1109 · 02/07/2008 18:18

Hi Debz and Angel,

God I feel really sick!! My boobs are killing me!! I can't stand this waiting.

I'm not late, due Friday. I'm getting really nervous!!

xx

pixistar · 03/07/2008 13:43

Hey Sarah,

Just seen you recent post. I really hope that you are - figures crossed. But if you really can't wait (I know that I would not be able too) I saw advertised on the TV the other night that first response are now doing a pregnancy test that allows you to test 6 days before your period is due!!! Might be worth a try?

Sarah1109 · 03/07/2008 17:14

Hi pixistar,

Thanks for your message. Still no period!! I did a test this morning, but it was negative .

Oh well, I'll see what happens over the next few days.

How are you doing??

xx

debz9384 · 03/07/2008 20:02

hi sarah oh i hope its good news ur symptoms sound like u r i have blood tests mon t see if ive ovulated hope so can they tell from bloods 21 if u are preg?? xxxxxxx

Wallacex · 04/07/2008 10:20

Hi Sarah,

I hope you have good news, i hating the waiting game. My husband and i are now in the process of doing it every other day as my gyne advised - im suppossed to be due on, on the 24 July, but he advised me not to test until a week after that date as the Clomid can mess your normal cycle up. Not sure you wanted to hear that, but im keeping my fingers crossed for you. Is this your first or second round of clomid?

Sarah1109 · 04/07/2008 19:23

Hi ladies,

Well first round of Clomid and no luck I'm afraid. Got my af this morning .

Felt really crap when it happened and got quite upset, but I'm over it now! No point dwelling on what you can't change.

So I start round 2 tomorrow, hope the side effects are a bit easier to cope with than last time!!

Debz, I don't think they can tell from your bloods unless they specifically test for pregnancy, but I may be wrong. Ask the person who takes them, they must have some idea!!!

I'm gonna have a big drink tonight now that I know I'm not pg, in preparation for the next 4 weeks!!

Take care ladies. xxx

debz9384 · 04/07/2008 21:59

will do aw hun that sux but well theres always nxt munth yeah u shoold av a few drinks n relax

Wallacex · 05/07/2008 08:42

Ailz · 06/07/2008 17:51

hi i am new and have read entire link and have found it comforting and worrying! i have one child, but have been trying for over a year to conceive second. I am on clomid because i have strange brown, dryish bleeding about 5 days before period, every month for last 6 months at least. just started clomid this month and due period in a week, however brown blood started again today. does anyone know what this is or have they heard of anyone who has had it? i am sick of it and believe it is causing fertility problems.
thanks so much and good luck to everyone! x

hopeful1 · 07/07/2008 09:21

Hi everyone,

Well I started my clomid yesterday, had a really weird headache last night and funny vision problems!! I have to go for scan next tuesday and then IUI.
I heard that it helps to put a warm bean bag or hot water bottle on your tummy before and up to ovulation...has anyone else heard of this? Also start acupuncture tomorrow....might as well try all I can!!

Fingers crossed and good luck to all x

Angel008 · 07/07/2008 13:56

Must e doing something then hey cause there were no health problems at all with either of us! lol......im well chuffed. Hope your al getting on ok, keep ur chin up.

Sarah1109 · 07/07/2008 21:12

Hi Angel,

That's great news. Hopefully you won't need all those pills though!! Fingers crossed for you. I'm now mid dose on my 2nd round. The hot flushes have started again!!! .

Good luck guys!! xx

Angel008 · 08/07/2008 00:28

Hiya Sarah,

thnks for your message. Thats great your on your 2nd round now ive only just finished a week ago approx so were round about the same sort of clomid cycle. I didnt have any hot flushes or symptoms with clomid on the second round to be quite honest and in the first month my ovulation pains were awful but right now im ovulatin and theres no pain. I think the more your body gets used to clomid the less symptoms it has on you. Im still wondering why my gyno gave me an extra 3 months through the post without going to see her or anything. I was telling a friend and she said she never heard of that being done. Maybe as the gyno can see the affect its having she thinks its best not to just end it after next months cycle. I dont know why but im starting to have a positive feeling about this now. When it comes to the whole idea of concieving im very negative as i dont like to put my hopes up at all, but like today when i was sent my additional course i was really happy and suprised so i think my negativity will continue and hopefully i will be suprised again. It helps to look forward to other things. Like right now im looking forward to my IVF even though the doctor has advised me its quite an emotional process.

Anyway wish u loadsa loadsa luck!

take care.

Wallacex · 08/07/2008 14:02

Hi Hopeful,

Sounds like your having a right old time. This week ive been getting a lot of cramping pain, not sure if this is normal but am hoping this is a good sign that im ovluating. Anyway how are getting on with the clomid now? Have the symptoms settled down a bit? Think im making my husband exhausted with all our late night goings on - bless him xx

debz9384 · 08/07/2008 22:57

hi ailz hows u? not heard of that have u had any symptoms on clomid??? how olds ur child?? hope clmid wrks 4 u and the blood thing disapeers xxx

hopeful1 · 10/07/2008 09:20

Hi Wallacex and all,

I am on my last day of clomid today....cant stand the hot flushes!! Going for scan on tuesday and having IUI next week sometime. Spoke to the accupuncturist and if you are normally a cold person it might be advisable to use hot water bottle on tummy at night when home watching television...something to do with the yang thing!!

Wallacex - lots of people on here seem to have cramping pain so I dont think you need to worry about that.

I am sure your husband understands....it will be worth it all in the end x

Sarah1109 · 10/07/2008 09:32

Hi all,

Has anyone found themselves eating more whilst on this Clomid. My appetite seems to have grown loads since I started taking these. I generally feel pretty rubbish first thing but from about 10 or 11 o'clock I can't stop eating!!! xx

hopeful1 · 10/07/2008 16:28

Hi Sarah,

Yep, me too!!

Apparently they can cause weight gain, obviously because we are eating more through being hungry!! Maybe its preparing us for the eating for two thing

I had a massive lunch yesterday and usually I would have skipped dinner as not hungry but managed a full on meal too!!

Good luck with your second round x

Sarah1109 · 10/07/2008 18:27

Thanks hopeful!

I've put on nearly half a stone which is not good (although most of my friends won't agree with me)!!

Perhaps it is the eating for 2 thing!! I hope so. It's weird having the mega-munchies though, cos normally I don't eat much outside my 3 meals a day!!

Take care hun, hope yours works too!!

xx

Jennaroo · 10/07/2008 21:13

hello

I have just been prescribed clomid to start next month. I am scared and excited at the same time. I have a son who is three in 3 weeks and I conveived him naturally, but had an ectopic in October last year. Since then, have had problem after problem and am depressed at the amount of pregnant women around. Already having a child does not make it easier - if anything, it is harder because I feel guity that I cannot give my son a brother or sister.

I have been reading up for months about fertility and wonder if anyone has any views about whether lubricants have any adverse effect on it?

Godd Luck to you all.
