Just got 2 very very (very very very) faint lines. The magical due date doo-dah says 3rd Oct is the magic number. Who knows? It could all go tits up still, but if you, like me, suspect you might be in the early stages it would be nice to chat.

I'll start the list shall I?

Pebbles, we dtd last night and my stomach did feel odd afterwards. Might just be coincidence, I'm not sure. But it's definitely safe to have sex while pregnant. I have quite a high sex drive (sorry for tmi) and all through my pregnancy with DD we continued to dtd. She's perfectly fine.

pebble82 · 13/02/2014 18:18

phew. Not sure I'll be though. If that's just dtd cramps I'm going to hate real contractions!!

ohthegoats · 13/02/2014 18:18

Oh we've been having sex as normal. In fact, the first thing bf said when I told him about the positive test, was "Ooh.. I think we should go to bed right now.." which seemed an odd response.

I've had fairly consistent period like pains, right since before I worked out I might be pregnant - I'm 7 weeks 2 days today. Probably have had only about 4 days of 'no pain' in the last 6 weeks to be honest. I've had to take paracetamol on at least 5 occasions, just to get through the working day. Sex makes no difference, negatively or positively.

I'm really trying hard with 'what will be, will be'. Part of me wants to go for a private early scan to see if it's all OK, part of me just thinks that if it's not alright then my body will hopefully deal with it accordingly. Of course I know that's not always true, and I guess that an early negative scan would at least mean I can get on with my life 4 weeks earlier than waiting for the standard 12 week one.

Gibber in general. Thank goodness for the diversionary Winter Olympics.

mrsb87 · 13/02/2014 19:21

They really can't tell that much this early on. it really isn't worth paying £100++ for. Unless you have money to burn. Looking forward to the 12wk scan where there will actually be something to see and not just a blip on a screen!

Bumpforme2014 · 13/02/2014 20:08

So sorry giraffeski not fair is it :(

Yay for binky that must have been soooo scary!

I am feeling better now, no more sickness and it is defo linked to hunger and I think having snacks at all times is the way to go.

Ohthegoats you are so further along then most of us I don't think you have anything to worry about.

Pebble that made me laugh, I read somewhere it is normal to have 'contraction/cramp pain' after DTD so I wouldn't worry. Me and DH really want to do it but still worried (which I know is stupid) so going to hold out couple more weeks. If anything I don't want the extra worry of cramps from it afterwards.

Seeing GP tomorrow so hope she books midwife or gives me number so I can book appointment and scan woohoo

binkybunny · 13/02/2014 20:08

Mrsb did you get stronger meds today? How are you feeling, has the sickness stopped yet? Sorry if you've said, just had a quick scan through- should be writing assignments Blush

CareBearWithFangs · 13/02/2014 20:20

So I've just eaten a waffle, fish fingers and some smoked salmon. With lots of sweet chilli sauce. This is after having tea with DD at 5. How's everyone else feeling this evening?

MundayCakes85 · 13/02/2014 20:59

So sorry Giraffe, hope you get some TLC in RL
I'm either 7 or 9 weeks (depending on when I'm dated) and I'm sure everyone else must be able to see my paunch! There's a bit of fat winter insulation over it but definitely starting to get rounded, although maybe that's because I'm always hungry??

mrsb87 · 13/02/2014 21:06

Hi binky yes I have been signed off for another 2 weeks and I'm now on promethazine, if that doesn't work I have another one the doctor prescribed as a plan "b". Managed to have a few snacks and some chicken dippers (weird craving number 1!) Which so farbhave stayed down. More meds and off to bed for me. Glad you had good news today binky, hopefully you can start to relax

Bumpforme2014 · 13/02/2014 21:22

Mundycakes why the difference in dates? The bump doesn't pop out until 12 weeks apparently but I don't believe that.

puppythedog · 13/02/2014 21:30

mrsb87 great to hear you've managed to keep some food down and hopefully feeling a bit better in yourself.

MndayCakes85 add custard to that and you might have Dr Who join you :-)

I'll stay out of the nookie discussion. Continuing Good luck and hope and wellness to you all. Being able to lurk here is great. Blokes are rubbish at all the sharing and talking stuff. Wink

mrsb87 · 13/02/2014 21:33

Yea I think it's needless to say dtd is out of the question for me right now! Poor dh..

TroubleAndFyfe · 13/02/2014 21:48

Hmm So sorry Giraffeski
Great news Binky!
With DS I was in maternity jeans from 10 weeks! Shock I had to hide the elasticated waist band for two weeks! Grin
Those of you who've never worn elasticated waistband maternity jeans you are in for a treat. Most.Comfortable.Things.Ever.

pebble82 · 13/02/2014 21:56

I already have maternity jeans after buying them accidentally as they were on the wrong hanger. Never took them back though. They're great for Sunday dinner. Like pheobe in friends!

ohthegoats · 13/02/2014 22:05

Chicken.. I'm eating chicken at almost every meal. It's mostly about the sandwiches though, chicken salad and mayo sandwiches. I had one for tea, and could do another one right now. Salt and vinegar crisps too.

If it weren't for the heparin injection bruises, I'd be comfy back in my normal jeans since about the two days ago when the bloaty wind finally disappeared. Until then it had been all about the leggings.

I think I'd be alright about being in maternity clothes by 10 weeks - we'll be in Cambodia at 14/15 weeks, and I'd rather look obviously pregnant on the beach than just 'fat'. Obviously I'll just be looking fat. Ha.

MundayCakes85 · 13/02/2014 22:28

Bumpforme doctor dated me 9 weeks from last period but I know I was irregular so I think I'm more likely 7 weeks. Having my scan in 3 weeks, everything going well so I'll find out a proper date then Smile
Really looking forward to elastic ages clothes. Going to maybe buy some trousers a size bigger and hope they last a month of so longer!
Mrsb glad you managed to keep something down today x

Bumpforme2014 · 13/02/2014 22:59

Oohhhh mundycakes three weeks is nothing, your so lucky, not long to go now you might be our first scanner! Has it gone quickly?

officelady · 14/02/2014 06:39

Morning ladies (and gentleman, sorry puppythedog, nearly left you out there!)
I'm 7+4 today. Every extra day is a bonus! Slightly disappointed that I haven't heard from the midwife yet regarding making an appointment for booking in. I've got MILLIONS of trivial and stupid questions to ask!! I could really do with knowing when they might see me, I've got to prepare an excuse to have time off work for the appointment. At the moment I'm thinking of telling my boss that I am having some gynae problems and then that will cover me for the initial appointment (where I'll have some "tests") and say they have referred me for a scan (which will cover me for the ultrasound). I might come clean after that. Maybe.

Is anyone else finding it hard to keep it a secret? I am dying to tell someone, we haven't told anyone at all yet. My gut feeling is that my son and daughter should be the first to know, before anyone else. I would hate for my kids to see something on facebook before I'd had a chance to tell them myself. And obviously I don't want to tell them too early in case things go wrong, they've both got a lot on their plates at the moment (one doing GCSE's, the other doing A Levels). So in a nutshell .... AAAARGH!!! Confused

magichandles · 14/02/2014 07:22

officelady I wasn't going to tell anyone but two of my closest friends were round earlier in the week and one of them was asking me about when we were going to start trying for DC3 and I hesitated a second too long so they both guessed! My older two are younger though (4 and 2) so I'm not too bothered about other people knowing before them. There are a couple of other friends I need to tell now, but I will leave it at that.

Troubleandfyfe - I was in maternity jeans from 10 weeks with DC2 Grin - they are honestly the most comfortable things ever. I remember the first time I wore them with DC1 when we went out for a curry and they were an absolute revelation.

Feeling pretty bloated now, but other than that no real symptoms. I was the same with DCs 1 and 2 though, so I'm not too worried at the moment.

puppythedog · 14/02/2014 07:22

officelady
We've completely screwed up the secret thing, 5+3 today, we told My Dad and Mrsthedog's mum the other night, we've told aunty and some close friends. I've told my boss, a colleague and fighting the urge to tell the rest today (we are a small team and they're the people who would help me if things went awry).
That said we're just bloody excited as well as terrified, I'm struggling with wanting to get excited and being afraid that we can't. Not wanting to speak for mrsthedog too much but there are moments when she seems terrified at the prospect of loss.
She's constantly on thread and knickerwatch (it's a bit different to spring watch isn't it).

TroubleAndFyfe · 14/02/2014 07:23

Love that pebble! Grin
Goats you should look pregnant by then I think! Maternity tops always make you look more pregnant than fat! Smile
Munday that's so exciting about your scan! I was really lucky and got an extra one last time as the first was booked for 11+3which the sonographer said was too early for accurate measurements so I had another at 12+1. I love scans! I had a private 4D one at 32 weeks too so had four in total. It'll be hard with just two. Should've lied about my dates. Wink
OfficeLady that sounds like a good excuse for work. Considering how pregnant you'll be you're going to have to tell your son and daughter before their exams! Grin I guess it jut all depends on whether you'd want/need them to know or want/need their support if you had a mc. We've told both sets of parents, my sister and BIL and two close friends so have people to chat about it with and would have support if a mc happened. Mentally it's feeling really real now (not a single physical symptom - lucky me) Grin

familyfortunes · 14/02/2014 07:24

officelady I've told my parents and siblings...have nearly slipped up teice this week at work, started telling stories that were linked to family knowing I'm pregnant and realised after I started talking...my colleagues will be thinking I've lost the plot as I keep telling shitty random stories! haha! Just back from mat leave so want to keep it quiet until at least my 12 week scan...although feel like my tummy has already expanded Shock

mrsb87 · 14/02/2014 07:26

Wow that's quite an age gap officelady. I would tell them when you've had your scan. Im sure they're old enough to understand the risks involved.
Ive now told work, only because it actually puts me in a better position with having the time off that I need. If hr know its pregnancy sickness I'm more likely to qualify for extra sick pay etc.

TroubleAndFyfe · 14/02/2014 07:28

Magichandles your NN is fabulous! Grin yy to curry in maternity jeans!
100% your choice Puppy, if you want/need them for support tell them! It's still early days but it's okay to get excited too. For me and DH, getting excited now wouldn't make a loss any worse iyswim?

CareBearWithFangs · 14/02/2014 07:33

Morning everyone. I'm feeling really paranoid and scared this morning. Have had stomach ache all night and really horrific dreams and losing the baby Hmm.

I've only told my best friend so far. Not sure when's the best time to tell everyone really. With DD I was so far along when I found out I was pregnant with her it wasn't an issue Blush
