All of us May mummies are BACK like the Terminator only less deadly (unless preggo rage strikes and we're within waddling distance of sharp things)

Admitted to hospital with abdo pain and vomiting!! Nice!!

Isean · 26/01/2014 04:42

Thistle abdo pain & vomiting sounds nasty, but you are in the best place & I hope you are well looked after & better soon.

randdom I hope you're not too sore after your fall! I am extra cautious these days for fear of falling over, especially as I have become quite clumsy recently and keep bumping into things! I haven't got used to having a beach ball up my jumper yet!

As usual, insomnia is leaving me wide awake at this hour Confused Averaging 4/5 hours sleep a night which I can just about cope with. I'm not a great sleeper anyway but getting more tired as the pregnancy is going on so hoping it will sort itself out! Anyone else suffering with insomnia?

ClearlyMoo · 26/01/2014 04:50

... Just been catching up on news...

Welcome Bezza! How does it feel to KNOW the date!?

Dobe that woman is not your friend! Idiot!

Moomin, so sad about news, hope you're hanging on in there and OH doing ok x

Thistle = OH NO! You poor thing! Please keep us updated!

I'm suffering with the heartburn again. If I didn't live 7 miles from a MacDs I'd have a large chocolate milkshake daily (yes probably a good thing!)

I don't know how much weight I've gained. At 18 weeks it was over a stone, I'm kidding myself that my bump now growing and I'm not. However situation can't be too bad. I lost 5 stone in the year before we married and kept most of it off til I conceived. I wore an anorak yesterday zipped up over the bump (and a big hoodie) that I couldn't do up when I was at my biggest, so even with pokey out bump I'm "thinner" than I used to be! I tell you all my size 20 PJs are now a godsend! I kept a bag of few favourite "fat clothes" in case I got pregnant and am so grateful now! Can start wearing favourite dress I bought when I started seeing DH soon (it has short sleeves) looks good with bump !Wink

Anyone getting a waterproof mattress cover in case their waters break in bed? We spent £1k on new bed when we got married (wedding present from family) and I don't want to ruin it! I changed sheets yesterday and thought it might be a good idea Shock somewhere else on mn someone suggested hippy chick flat sheet.. £35 for a double flat (we have King but I think DH can have less his side).

Anyway hope no one else is awake with the heart burn / ridiculous thirst/ night weeing! I'm going to try and fall asleep without making one of my arms go dead now! Had hilarious sexy dreams last night but fare with poster above that more tiring than sleeping! DH thinks I'm bonkers when I précis them for him in the morning!

ClearlyMoo · 26/01/2014 04:53

waves at Isean

Isean · 26/01/2014 05:18

hellooooo clearlySmile

I have been having odd dreams too (quite normal for me!) & have given up telling OH about them as he just looks at me as though I'm deranged! He rarely remembers if he dreams at all!

My weight at 10 weeks booking in was 9st 6oz, I weighed myself last week at 25 weeks & it said 10st 4oz. I know I lost some weight after booking in as I wasn't keeping a lot down until 18 weeks or just after, so I hope I'm not piling on too much now! My appetite is huge just now & my self-control isn't great at the best of times! Really should try to be more sensible!

dobedobedo · 26/01/2014 06:33

Welcome Bezza! It must be so cool knowing the date!
Random, hope you're okay. A fall can be scary, but babies are well protected.
Thistle, how's it going? You still in hospital? Hope they fix you up and send you home ASAP.
I never thought about a waterproof mattress cover! It would make sense I guess. I'll add that to my list. I was going to buy a shower curtain for the car, in case I leak waters on the way to the hospital (or give birth stuck on the A14 in trafficConfused).

Today I'm chilling out all day. Ds had his party yesterday and they all trashed the place. I thought it would be fairly civilised as his friends have all seemed sensible, but when they're all together in a group, they're mental. I had ds hoovering up the mess last night, bad mum that I am Wink . Bless him, he did such a good job. Might even treat him today, stretch his birthday out into two days.

I'm now lying in bed trying to feel movements. Baby has definitely been quieter the past couple of days, he must be in an awkward position.

IWantToBePippiLongstocking · 26/01/2014 07:54

I put those absorbable squares under the sheet closer to the due date. Got them for the baby as handy when travelling and my brain just won't tell me the right name of them.
last two pregnancies, my waters have broken in the middle of the night and then the labour started shortly after. They just go POP!

mrsmummytobe · 26/01/2014 08:22

Welcome bezza. That's so exciting you already know when your dc's birthday will be!

Poor you randdom Thanks That sounds really scary. Hope you can rest up & be looked after today.

Oh no thistle, hope you feel much better soon!

Clearlymoo, I'm still suffering with terrible heartburn. Yesterday I was practically swigging the gaviscon from the bottle but it didn't make that much difference tbh.

I am also at the eat everything in sight stage! Had such an unhealthy weekend, we got a yummy take away & I ate far too much!

mrsmummytobe · 26/01/2014 08:24

Haha I just reread my post & realised all the unhealthy eating is probably not doing anything to help my heartburn!! Blush

randdom · 26/01/2014 09:37

Thanks everyone!

I am feeling much less shaken today though I do ache everywhere and the graze on my knee is quite nasty (haven't had a graze in years!)

Excitingly we have just had our new washer dryer delivered!

Squiffie · 26/01/2014 09:38

Hope you have a chilled day randdom, sounds very scary and the perfect reason to be waited in hand and foot

Hope everything is ok thistle and that you're feeling much better this morning. X x

Dobe - glad your DS enjoyed his party! At least you've found out age 9 that he does pretty wild parties - imagine the carnage they could cause at 16 Wink

Your heartburn comment made me lol mrsmummy - yep, reckon that might have something to do with it!

Hope everyone finds themselves well this morning and has a relaxing Sunday! X

MoominIsGoingToBeAMumWaitWHAT · 26/01/2014 09:48

I'm 27 weeks tomorrow! I can't believe it's been 20 weeks now since I found out I was pregnant. So much has changed.

impatientlywaiting · 26/01/2014 10:08

Hope you are ok Thistle?

I am going to get a mattress cover, heard they were really good for when baby arrives too, in case they are sick or wee in the bed if they are on it with you.

mumof2aimingfor4 · 26/01/2014 10:25

Take it easy today randdom

Hope everything is ok thistle and that you are feeling better this morning.

Dobe - glad your son had a good birthday.

mrsmummy im swigging gaviscon straight from the bottle as I get terrible heartburn even from water! Both dds were born with a head full of hair so I guess my boy is going to be the same.

Yay moomin 27 weeks already! Its going fast now.

mumof2aimingfor4 · 26/01/2014 10:27

My waters have broken both times on the toilet. Both times when I stood up I had to quickly sit back down again as I thought I was still peeing!

PotatoPolly · 26/01/2014 11:18

I hadn't thought about a mattress protector... Best look into getting one!

I'm 24 weeks today, is this viability week?!

loopylou52 · 26/01/2014 11:34

Sounds like the perfect place for them to go mumof2!

randdom and thistle - hope you're both ok and feeling better today. Welcome bezza!

Vikks · 26/01/2014 13:16

Hi All! Lovely new thread.

Sorry I've been quiet this week, it’s been a rough one! I've been ill in bed since Tuesday with headaches and vomiting, I finally went to the doctors and they found my blood pressure to be really high and I had protein in my urine. I was admitted into hospital and have been monitored for a few days. Thankfully my blood pressure came down a bit (it was 130/110) and I've been allowed home and signed off work for two weeks! Little Olivia is still fighting fit and is unaffected by my ordeal. I didn't really realise it at the time (I was a bit out of it) but all the signs were pointing towards pre-eclampsia. I've googled it and I’m now petrified I could be having the early signs. DP is on a mission today trying to sort out Olivia’s room and is going to start painting. She could be arriving earlier than planned. Does anyone have any experiences of pre-eclampsia?

Now I’m confined to the sofa I’ll catch up on the rest to the thread- I've missed quite a few pages. Hope everyone is well. X

PS. My hospital stay reminded me what we've got to do soon!! I had a few different ward neighbours going through early labour. I was panting and breathing and going through every contraction will them! It’s all very real now….. Confused

Vikks · 26/01/2014 13:21

Oh snap Thistle two of us in hospital! I hope you are doing better today.
Randdom Are you still on the mend? x
Welcome Bezza!

Bezzabelle · 26/01/2014 13:56

Thanks for all your lovely welcomes. Yes it's very odd knowing the date, my due date is 31st may so they normally do c sections at 39 weeks which would make it 24th but as that's a sat, they booked me in on 23rd so will be 38 + 6. Slightly scared as ds arrived on 38 + 4 and had to have crash c section then as had a placenta abruption but hoping this little boy will stay put until planned c section!

On topic on mattress protectors, we put one on our bed from about 32 weeks but my waters didn't break until I was 10cm anyway so was fine. But came in handy when ds used to vomit etc in our bed!

Ref heartburn, milk helps me a treat, especially choc milkshake!! May explain why I have put on 20 pounds since I was 12 weeks!!!!! Eek!

mumof2aimingfor3 · 26/01/2014 14:30

I really hope this mothers instinct thing isn't all its cracked up to be, I've increasingly had an overwhelming feeling that this little one is going to be earlier than his ds2.

Someone else on here said that they had the same feeling too. Did it pass? Or are you still thinking it.

Im actually going out to buy bits to prep a hospital bag the feeling is that strong. Third baby so defo not first time nerves.

Chip86 · 26/01/2014 14:33

Oh no vikks how scary glad to hear you are home and resting look after yourself
